So think about this... Half the Republicans in the House were in on Trump's COUP PLOT. If Jack Smith indicts all the COUP PLOTTERS, the Republican caucus will be decimated. That would also take out at least three Republican Senators (Hawley, Cruz, and Johnson) that would go as well. I am a 62 year old disabled woman. I stood in line for hours to vote. Why did I stand in line and not do mail in voting? Because in 2020, during the height of the pandemic, Republicans removed drop off ballot boxes EVERYWHERE. Do Republicans care that older disabled people like me have to stand in line....for hours....in order to vote? Heck NO!!! The nearest post office was miles and miles away. The nearest place to vote in person was not that far from where I live. Because Republicans removed those drop off boxes, people like me stood in line for hours. NOTHING is going to stop me from voting. I don't care if it kills me. MY vote is going to happen!! NO ONE is going to take away MY democracy!! GO BLUE!!!

People in gerrymandered districts are not exclusive to one party or another. There are Dems, and Reps, in every district. Reps and Dems vote by mail. That’s not strictly exclusive to Dems. No little old lady will drop off ballots at a ballot drop of box. If she sees a huge scary ARMED mask men regardless of which party she votes for. Most of the ones I know vote republican. Even with fair maps it seems unlikely for there to be dem control of both chambers. Dems in MI got control of both chambers by 1 seat majority despite a buffet of factors helping them. Even dems majorities in MN are slim. In PA dems only got control of the state house but not the state senate. WI dems are considerably weaker than in PA.

@@williamplatt1641 One person, one vote does exist for US house and even state legislative elections. There's still gerrymandering. Gerrymandering is primarily for legislative elections, not the EC. All states but ME & NE use winner takes all based on statewide vote for the EC. So only 2 states use district lines to allocate the district votes for the presidency. Of those 2 states, each contains 1 seat that goes to the other party at least some of the time.

As both a Wisconsinite and state government employee, I look forward to a Democratic majority in the Legislature. It would be nice to stop getting screwed over by the GOP when it comes to benefits and compensation. When we've gotten raises in the past 20 years (many years in a row we got none), it's been 1-2% and then at the same time they up our pension contributions by the same or more. We've basically had wage cuts since at least Act 10 in 2011.

Personally, I've been interested in two grassroots groups focused on economic democracy, called the Next System Project and the Democracy Collaborative. They have devised a way to keep production local and contract service to cooperatives, called the Preston Model. They have helped multiple cities struggling with job loss due to factory closures build back their communities, in the US and UK. In addition, trade unions, collectives, public banks, credit unions, community land trusts, CSA's, and many other democratically controlled institutions can work together to create democratic networks outside the market to create an economy that doesn't reduce people, their governments, and the environment to a monetary value. I think this can be a viable strategy to give people the autonomy over their work. I believe economic democracy is the only way people who work for the economy will have the economy work for them, their families, and the planet too. This way of revitalizing communities by building community wealth has helped many communities all over the globe, and it is utilized by the UK labor party and touted by Jeremy Corbyn. I really think voting districts should use districts that are already determined for other uses such as law enforcement coverage areas, service areas for state service delivery, school districts, library coverage areas, etc.

In Wisconsin (which has a super-majority in the state house), several medium-sized cities that have mostly Democratic voters have been broken into pieces, so that a fraction of the population shares real estate with all the surrounding small townships that vote Republican. So a district that should have a Democratic majority has been erased. There are several examples.

Born and bred in Wisconsin I'm 53 years old and this state has been terribly gerrymandered my whole life. It's the reason we can never have nice things. Please please please Marc do not give up.
