I live and volunteer in El Paso TX. From 2017 to 2018 we had a total of 30,000 undocumented immigrants enter the USA through my city. In less than 90 days of 2019, we have had over 32,000 undocumented immigrants enter the USA through my city. We are bursting at the seams, and we are being over whelmed. The group sponsoring this is Pueblo Sin Fronteras. I volunteer at Kelly Memorial Food Pantry, and used to at Annunciation House. At the pantry we see up to 300 plus families, and at Annunciation House they see 400 to 700 people everyday. This is not a joke, this is really happening, and more caravans are on their way. When I spoke to the mostly young men, they told me that they are economic refugees. Please stop playing politics with this issue, we can not in El Paso TX keep trying to take care of a new batch of 32,000 people every 90 days...This simply has to stop. Compare our policies with those of our Central American neighbors. For example, we know how many American retirees go to other countries to retire, because living costs are less expensive. They (American citizens, with money to support themselves) cannot immigrate illegally, cannot get free stuff, and may be asked at any time to show their passport to authorities and local police. They can even be arrested, and detained if they do not have legal papers. Why aren't we enforcing the same kinds of laws that Mexico, Panama, Guadalajara, Honduras and Belize enforce? My god, this immigration policy of not enforcing our laws in the US is insane.
