Hi Matt. I'm David. I wanted to say thank you. I'm a veteran who has had bad times over the last few years. I had a really bad stroke awhile back and ended up in the hospital for almost 3 months. Episode idea: boat races. Get a bunch of toy plastic boats, string, and maybe fishing weights. Then with pistols of different calibers see which will push boat farthest or fastest. Tape em in a boat. Fishing weights to even weight of boat and gun. String path to maintain boat direction. Then a little cylinode to push trigger (something you could use going forward instead of string.) Different weight bullets vs powder could be fun expitiment.

@@RichardCranium321 You're right, Joe doesn't have dementia, those are just insensitive old man things. Dementia actually changes the personality and physical ability of people. Makes them angry, makes them mess up their words, at times using words that don't fit at all. Turns them paranoid and untrusting. Angry outbursts become more and more common as they become confused as to why these things are happening. Dementia also causes muscle atrophy all over the body, including the mouth, making talking harder and slurring easier. Additionally, dementia tends to contract muscles naturally, making older patients lean forward, causing balance and motor issues. Like... drinking a cup of water, or walking down a ramp. Just saying, y'all were looking the *complete* wrong direction for dementia... the entire time. Joe doesn't have it, Don does.

The stamping, in case no one has mentioned it yet, is as follows: The manufacturer is Derya Arms in Turkey, Importer is APINTL, Armscor Precision International, which is based in Pahrump, Nevada. Armscor Precision (Phillipines) is the parent company of Armscor International and Rock Island Armory, maker of excellent-for-price 1911's. Derya Arms also makes the VR-60's and VR-80's for RIA, and QC is very good. Clean and lube the guns before shooting, and give them a bit of a break-in period. They are inexpensive guns that just run like mad, with decent accessories in the VR-60,80's.

It's swording problem; even if the cotton is tightly woven it won't stop bullets because the fibers aren't strong enough. Kevlar is strong enough, but if it's too loosely woven, enough momentum will get through to injure someone. That's small rounds, if it's a high powered round, even the best body armor won't stop it from breaking bones and causing organ trauma.

Just thinking out loud. Even if both materials were the same strength, one possible difference with Kevlar vs cast, is that I think Kevlar is still flexible so it can absorb and slow the bullet, where cast just needs to be strong enough to stop it.
