My guess would be 2 fold: because women generally like taller men and they're far more likely to watch a slice of life/romance anime and as opposed to a standard Shounen. Also most Shounen are designed to be coming of age stories, so I imagine the animators would really want to emphasize/contrast the younger protagonists with the older mentors. Unless you're you Yu Yu Hakusho. lol And I’m pretty sure I mentioned this last week on Patreon, but great job!

Huh, yeah maybe there are lots of shorty shounen characters? At least Deku and Tanjiro are both young (15-16) so they might not have hit their growth spurt yet. On the other hand, you have shows like JoJo’s bizarre adventure where all the JoJos are TALL. Jotaro for example I think is supposed to be 17 at the start but he looks like 2 meters and really buff. Later characters are not as huge (due to art style shift) but still kinda on the tall side mainly.

I think Nezuko is different because her soul is still in her and fighting the demon for control of her body and she using the demon power to protect people but that's mine opinion about Nezuko.
