This world desperately needs more Christian metalcore and thrash bands out there. I got into Demon Hunter back in 2015 when my sister and her husband introduced me to them. Had the pleasure of seeing them live in Cincinnati during their Extremist tour, which was an awesome experience, and I've been a die hard fan ever since. Their music is truly unique and powerful like no other group I've ever heard. Easily the best Christian metal band of all time.

I was born into the light Under wide and open skies Somewhere far away from fate I found a call to make me whole Set a fire into my soul And made my home beneath the weight But I'm intent to go astray Through the night, into the vein Past the fight, above the fray Where I forget my very name I tried to find the will to stay Find a place beyond the pain Live to see another day But I died along the way I was tried along the way Found a light to cut the gray But I lost you anyway Then I died along the way I don't know how to face the end If I don't hold you close again But I would die to see it through I know this light won't last for long But I will burn it through a song And leave it waiting here for you But I'm intent to go astray Through the night, into the vein Past the fight, above the fray Where I forget my very name I tried to find the will to stay Find a place beyond the pain Live to see another day But I died along the way I was tried along the way Found a light to cut the gray But I lost you anyway Then I died along the way I can't decide the day I only know decay I can't decide the day I only know But I'm intent to go astray Through the night, into the vein Past the fight, above the fray Where I forget my very name I tried to find the will to stay Find a place beyond the pain Live to see another day But I died along the way I was tried along the way Found a light to cut the gray But I lost you anyway Then I died along the way I died along the way I lost you anyway I died along the way I lost you anyway I died along the way

This song hits me hard. The best of the album for me too. Can't explain the feeling exactly, but for me it's a song of trying to persist on faith, while everything else tries to drag you away from it. And like so many, we ended up pursuing the "easiest" way instead of the "hardest" one. A song of persistence, but sad at same time.

My best friend got me into Demon Hunter when we were in High School. I remember him telling me about this album because of SoDaR and he was really excited about it. He was always a really avid Demon Hunter and he even had a Blessed Resistance shirt when they were doing that. He passed the May after SoDaR came out. He never got to listen to this album. As the songs came out, i remember crying my eyes out to Silence the World, he would have loved the song. I listened to the rest of the album the day it came out with another friend of mine as i couldnt listen to it on my own. I wasnt big on most of the album but this song is one i keep coming back to. It reminds me of him now. It makes me cry I did everything i could but i ended up losing him anyway and some part of me died that day. i still blame myself for it.

For some reason, I love Christian rock bands. I'm not Christian myself, but try to be open minded and Christian rock music is just of such a high artistic and lyrical value while being easy to listen to. Demon Hunter has really been one of my Go-To rock bands since discovery next to Red, Ashes Remain and others
@ExposingTheLies360 Жыл бұрын
God gives us humans free will to choose whomever or whatever we want to do with our lives. But he loves you. God created music for your enjoyment. And like many other things he uses beautiful music to grab our attention. Like I said he loves you …whether or not you want to believe it is always up to you. But this much is certain…Jesus uses Demon hunter to reach ppl like you and me and to remind us that we are only human. He can only set us free from the bonds and slavery of our temptation/things of the world if we choose him. We are all a slave to something as non christians. This band and their music is simply Gods vessel. They serve God. Psalm 40:3 He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him. Music holds so much. Anyways, just food for thought. Something to think about! Peace brother :)
@delta61 Жыл бұрын
@@ExposingTheLies360 Someone once said that God turned to the poet and told him, as he received nothing, that he is free to come to him and be by his side. I guess that may be my connection, and I certainly hope God loves me though I have certainly not less sins committed. I try to balance that out. But here's something: There was also someone from the same period who cited God that a man errs and wanders as long as he strives. What he meant was that striving for power is moving away from salvation, but I believe it also meant something else. I do strive a lot and I think Christians do as well, but I have doubts that all of them truly strive to be worth salvation. I know I could never understand what God is or what he does and wants from us in return, even though I'm told many things. I just want to serve the world and help others as a music teacher and educate myself onwards and I hope that this service to the world and its people will satisfy that God as I'm not able to comprehend and force myself to believe. I've written poems about this relation to God. But I can't tell myself to believe.
@malachitea5055 Жыл бұрын
@@delta61Nothing we can do can ever really satisfy God. That's the reason Jesus came and died for us, so that his death would satisfy God's justice, and open up his mercy to offer us unconditional grace, so that we may be with him in heaven if we so choose. No, you can't force yourself to believe, but I hope you continue to consider at least words such as these, as you've been doing. God bless man, and I hope your music teaching goes really well for you! :D

I love this band, been listening to them since "Summer Of Darkness" and haven't stopped. While they stick true to their beliefs, I also love that they write songs that others can relate to in different ways.
