Thank you for this explanation of the eyes/hands thing. I've struggled with this biblical precept for a long time. I doubted that it was related to the physical eyes/hands .. which wud equate to mutilation (in my mind). Now I understand that it relates to the spiritual. It makes perfect sense now. If anything becomes an idol over God then we’re not eating to enjoy or live but addiction seek first the kingdom of God and everything else will be added onto to you. This was a great word. The demons don't feed on the defiled things, they feed on what those defiled things do to our flesh and mind in the spirit--the spiritual waters produced by those actions and emotions from doing the defiled things--sin juices. We can't perceive that with our natural eyes, but we can see the effects. Different demons desire different flavors which is why they tempt you to do different things. We can also figure out that some seemingly unrelated sins actually are related. So pride, self-righteousness, religious pride, religious false humility, spiritual pride--these still produce the spiritual waters which demons feed on but they aren't the same "flavor" as the carnal pleasure things like sex, porn, and drugs. Then there's emotional sin spiritual waters craved by midtier demons and finally the really clever , subtle, and more refined demons want the things like religious pride because they are feeding undetected and dwelling within on those who think of themselves and may very well be in God's camp but are too well disciplined in their flesh to be tempted to the carnal things. Those higher tier demons really take pride in taking advantage of God's people and that's where they can really do damage to their enemy--the Lord.
