creditingkarma how do you like your speakers after 11 months? I’m in the market... would love to hear your thoughts.

@@osolomon4095 i this k you might have asked about them on Facebook as well if not here are my thoughts. I bought these instead of A3s. They are more refined, resolving, and natural imo. The S1mkII throw an incredible sound stage and image incredibly as well. You need good power though. I am currently powering them with a Hegel H360 fed by my dCS Bartok. I also pair them with JL Audio Fathom F110v2. The MSRP is higher than the A3 though but like I said I find them to be a better speaker. If I was to upgrade it would be to move up to the S3MKII or the M2. I do want to audition the A5 as well though.

@@klewja yes.. that was me.... lol... I guess if the price were the same, it would be an easy choice.... they will be doing double duty with the acc center in an HT... so I think the compromise will have to do. The A3 would move more air.... pressure the room, more than an S1 for movies...... when listening to music I will try to put the S1 out of my mind.....

I love this as a test track for my PMC Twenty26. So fascinating comparison with my system actually. Great clarity, tone and punch. I can't wait to get my XPR2 in place and relisten to this track. Also the new preamp by Burnester should prove interesting.This is stunning clear quiet very well extended plenty of headroom. Better than my current set up.

Completely agree but YT is more about eye candy than anything resembling an accurate facsimile of what it was like in the room in question. At least I hope that's the case with most of the 'demo' vids I'm seeing, athough I'll readily admit I've been in dealer showrooms that had the acoustics of a barn :(
