I've seen a lot of clouds, and reflections, as a 56-yr old artist, but yours tops all the others, I've so enjoyed the tutorial videos, and am going to study everything you do-enjoyed the music, too...

@darrenk1975 thanks for your comments. I basically have a Frames, mount and glass waiting to just drop it in, The only other way is to fix using fixatives from art shops. £8.00 a tin. or use hairspray but a cheap one, finer spray and less oil. fix as you go through painting. The problem with fixing is that it changes the colour dramtically so you have to allow for it in your original compostition. I find that too hard to paint using different contrasts.

@cybrid1940 i Zizi, sorry for delay , you know pastel brands do vary but i put mine on so hard i really let go . they just break up so easy .... But im a passionate painter and most of my painting only last 30 - 50 minutes.... Pastels are scattered all over the studio as i paint very quickly

Les, You sure do have the ability to create dramatic skies and know where your light is! Your work is absolutely Stunning!! I know you use Unison Pastels (they are wonderful to work with) and Canson Mi Tsien (rough side) papers. However, is it possible you use a different brand of White?, Like maybe Schmincke? I have difficulty getting my whites so white! Thanks for giving us your beautiful work!
@lesdarlow6 жыл бұрын
Schmincke white is one of the best whites ever.. I love Schmincke Pastel and have a full set. I use them carefully trying not to blend with my fingers. The softer pastel needs a little more control. whereas harder pastels are more manoeuvrable
@Beautifullifewelive6 жыл бұрын
So you use the Unison in your videos? How do you get it so bright? Thanks for replying to my comment so fast.
