There are 3 major types of ELISA: Direct ELISA (antigen-coated plate; screening antibody) Indirect ELISA (antigen-coated plate; screening antigen/antibody) Sandwich ELISA (antibody-coated plate; screening antigen)

I am really trying to understand this cause it's been a week I was on leave at work. My NS1 is negative, yet my iGG and iGM are positive. So that means I was really infected? I only had fever and severe headache, but no other symptoms such rashes and bleeding. That's what I am glad for, but still doctors are monitoring my platelets and will have my third CBC test tomorrow.
@ocean3057 Жыл бұрын
I don't have fever but I had headache and body ache. So after 3 days (from the time I got sick) I got dengue tested and it came out negative. Some people say for dengue we should atleast wait for 4-5 days. Is my report normal or not?
@Mauhidbaig2 жыл бұрын
Please tell me about my case. My doctor suspected early signs of dengue virus so he told me to get tested. My Ns1 is negative and with that my CBC for dengue is fine too especially the platelet.. Doctor recommended me to get tested again after two days. But he didn't mention anything about those other two test that you have mentioned.. what should i do? And he prescribed me antibiotic and other medicine. And now fever is on 99 and 100 and sometimes 101

Sometimes when the infection is mild the NS1 antigen test cant detect it in the initial phase. Thats why your doc wants to wait 2 more days to reach the peak of infection ( if any ) . I think you should wait and stay well hydrated. Is your neutrophil levels are higher than normal ?
@Mauhidbaig2 жыл бұрын
@@animatedbiologywitharpan yep. Its at 90 and normal range written is 50-70

If anyone was positive IgM for dengue 4 years ago and now if he suspect a dengue infection again, how he can be sure whether he is again infect by virus?( after 10 days) by IgM test, as IgM was pisitive 4 years ago.
@animatedbiologywitharpan Жыл бұрын
That's why the antigen test is more appropriate. Antigen Tests: These tests detect specific proteins (antigens) produced by the dengue virus in a person's blood. The most widely used antigen test for dengue is the NS1 antigen test. It is often used in the first few days of symptoms. Antibody Tests: These tests detect the presence of antibodies produced by the immune system in response to a dengue infection. There are two types of antibodies that can be detected: Immunoglobulin M (IgM) and Immunoglobulin G (IgG). IgM antibodies are produced in the early stages of infection, while IgG antibodies are produced later and may indicate a past infection

Sir i have been test via Elisa test. I was positive. Bt im testing again after 7 days but value is still same in Elisa test. But i dont have any symptoms. Even no fever from 4 days.

Maximum observed viral load reached an average of 108 copies/ml on the first day of fever. Then, the viral load gradually decreased over the days with fever. The viral load decreased to an average of 103 copies/ml on day 12 after fever. Even if the viral load is decresing and body is recovering some of the attenuated virus remains in the sytem. Thats why your test may be positive.

Hi Mr. Arpan. Please enlighten me for my case that i got 3x positive in dengue. For 2 months i had been retest for 3 times. I never diagnosed of having dengue nor i don't have any signs and symptoms so I don't know how to treat or assess myself. Please give me advise why I got 3 retest in dengue and got all positive. Thank you
@animatedbiologywitharpan2 жыл бұрын
May be you have mild infection and your immune system has nicely taken care of the virus. Therefore you might have the antibodies and you are asymptotic.
