Right! i seen the movie on netflix called "american nightmare", and so they go thur all this, then the police do nothing, another officer 40 miles a way a county sheriff intently searched until she found Denise thur being called to another seen and thats how 1 of the 3 got caught and Validated Denise and Aaron! With no help from the fbi either, i think there is some weird link with Aaron's ex, or some reason they never investigated, they all need to be locked up, not retiring with full beinfits ect. Denise and Aaron couldn't work or even shop in public and then they were retruamatized on social media by also having the news media lie and call Denise and Aaron a lair! Im posting this 7/20/24, the police officers and fbi agents have not been charged ect! This couple is so strong and reported to help others! im glad the sheriff in the other town over cared soo much to investigate and link 1 piece of hair she found to Denise, as the police in the Quinn's town were trying to charge them! In reality this was a true nightmare!

The thing that makes me so mad is in every incident of reported assault even in different police departments, the police didn’t believe these girls??!!! Are u serious? Those cops should be ashamed of them selves and I hope the victims got enough retribution $$$

It is because females often use the judicial system against men to be rewarded playing the victim. And I do mean often. In divorces more often than not they will claim to be beaten and raped. Don't know why it makes you mad. Women cry wolf often throughout their life. Think about that next time you claim to be a victim and throw stuff out of reality. You've done. It. Your going to do it and your doing it now. That's reality.

Denise and Aaron’s ordeal, their incredible bravery, there really aren’t words to express how inspirational their strength is. I knew that there are police who are more inclined to blame victims than to put effort into solving a crime. But, not until I watched American Nightmare did I actually, fully understand how dreadfully dangerous corrupt or lazy police officers can be. The footage of Aaron, co-operating fully with law enforcement, the woman he loves just taken, being interrogated, that footage is amongst the most gut-wrenching, distressing footage I’ve seen. Then, the documentary becomes even more disturbing with the footage of Denise being interrogated. I don’t know how they survived this living nightmare. They are true heroes. The female officer who actually did her job, and did it very well. She deserves an award. Without her, who knows what would’ve happened to Denise and Aaron. Detective Mustard is an incompetent, unconscionable monster. The detective who was sleeping with Aaron’s ex, Andrea, why is he not being investigated? The cops walked over and unplugged the camera in Aaron’s home?! Even a complete moron would know not to touch the camera until they’d taken photos, dusted for prints, found out whether or not it was actually functional. Every single cop who sabotaged this case has to be held accountable. They could’ve rescued Denise before she was raped the second time if only they’d not put Aaron’s phone on flight mode. The more information that comes to light about this, the more convinced one becomes that the police and the FBI weren’t just sloppy and incompetent in their investigation. Many of them were deliberately sabotaging evidence. Why? Because some of them are directly involved in the kidnapping ring. How could they come to the conclusion that the kidnapper worked alone? They were wrong about everything else. They’re wrong about that too. Guarantee. Given that the kidnapper told Denise about the amount of time and effort that he and his associates put into scaring victims out of going to the police…they have to investigate every single cop and FBI agent who did anything to spread misinformation about Denise and Aaron. It’s so great to see Denise and Aaron looking happy, healthy and together as an indestructible duo. Wishing them both every happiness.

He is married with Andrea and probably he has the one who wanted her kidnapped 😮 also, for me, Sesma is the one who went at Muller's house and told to him what to do next, in to be honest, I don't know if Andrea was aware of it or not, seems she's ok knowing the kidnapper wanted her and not Denise, for me this is TOO WEIRD 😅

I followed the Huskins/Quinn case and about a year later Sherri Papini pulled her stunt in Redding. The Shasta County Sheriff was very careful in the Papini case not to call it a fake. I think Shasta County learned a big lesson from the failures of law enforcement in Vallejo. The Huskins/Quinn case has some similarities with the Golden State Killer cases. I would be interested in knowing more about the ransacking that was done in the Huskins/Quinn home and if they ate anything during the home invasion.

I came here from Mr. Ballen's podcast coverage of this crime. I don't think he did justice to their story. He didn't mention that these guys saw more than one person (at least their feet) and heard different voices. It was super confusing the way he left it, so I'm glad I was able to find out more accurate information. I hope a private investigator or someone like that will be able to find the other kidnappers, so this won't ever happen again to anyone else.

Yes I've experienced this myself. You go to the police you get thrown in a legal battle of your freedom with threats. As soon as they realize it's a inside job everything gets swept under the rug. They still operate through my experience. Probably due to the amount of people...who they are...and the hit the economy will take. These are extremely wealthy people when it comes down to it most likely exploring other means to make money in case their first operation gets exposed. Or 2nd or 3rd. Organized crime usually has a lot going on and crooked cops and FBI judges ect. Are a necessity to making it flow smoothly. The guy feels safe because he's inside prison. Pshh he will die if he speaks inside or outside of prison. He probably feels safer inside prison because he doesn't know how it works. Organized crime is often ran from inside of a prison. If they wanted him dead he would be dead. It's probably the bottom feeders that want to kill him for saying too much. But the big guys glad he talked pointing in the somewhat opposite direction. The rich get away with a lot. Especially outside of cities. The judicial system simply can't afford some trials and the rich take advantage of knowing they can afford it.

I am very sorry for the horrible situation they found themselves in, in all aspects-the risk, the violence and brutality by the kidnappers, the mistrust from authorities, etc. Yet, I have to say that in some way, at some level, I regret to say that I find them both, for no fault of their own, hard to watch. Nothing in that, which is just a personal and unrequested opinion, is fair, their fault or something I feel proud of. But throughout the documentary in Netflix, I just couldn't refrain from noticing that I found hard to relate to their drama beyond the objective aspects of it-that it was a horrible crime and no one deserves that ever. I don't know what these emotions are, but they are something that made me not understand something about them - for sure something that is nothing of my business and should absolutely not ever matter to a crime investigation. Yet, I guess, these emotions - which again, are an irrelevant and inappropriate perception of a stranger who actually respects them, their pain and their struggle, if felt by any of the bad officers, could somehow help to understand the dynamic in this case. Though that, for sure, doesn't matter. I just think these two people have something very unique about them that may not always work in their favor in this world where most of us, fairly imperfect people, expect emotions to match gestures and facial expressions in certain ways.

As far fetched as the story sounds in the end one of the guy that kidnapped them tried to kidnap another person and was sent to prison… it’s also far fetched a former Navy Seal would just casually accept going to jail just to be a fall guy plus when they searched his home they did find the videos where he raped Denise which was used for “collateral” in case she talked with the police. It was a one in a billion situation which is why it’s a crazy unbelievable story… in the end the Vallejo police department were just butthurt that they fucked up.

I’m still baffled on how Muller said the kidnapping was meant for the ex fiancé. Was the ex cheating on Aaron with the cop/FBI agent or were they dating at the time of the kidnapping? 🤔 I believe Sesma was involved and he and other cops tried to cover themselves and pin it on the victims. Also goes to show that these cops know who the criminals are. They let them walk around free committing serial crimes and then lock them up when they don’t need them anymore. And what’s the likelihood that he knew to drop her off at her childhood home as opposed to where he kidnapped her. Law enforcement has to be involved. Just a thought: They probably hired this ex military man and whoever else. Then they get involved in the case, solve it or not just to get promoted.

It’s unsurprising that law enforcement first looked to foul play with the boyfriend. Statistics tell us that’s the first (but not only) place to look. Then to investigate whether denise perpetrated a hoax. Things like that have happened. What I found disturbing was that they tried to squash the case and even prosecute the victims when evidence began to point in another direction. I strongly suspect that some in law enforcement were trying to advance their careers with this case and then to save their careers when it became obvious. Two innocent people in jail and a serial rapist still on loose be damned. Years ago my husband worked as a housekeeper in a hospital. An employee stole a master key to offices and was stealing computers. They knew who was doing it but he was in a protected class and they couldn’t prove it. The supervisor thought my husband was a nice quiet contentious worker and he wouldn’t mind taking the fall for it. He suspended him even though the work leader told him she saw Larry return the key. Well he did mind-a lot! While he was out on suspension another key and more computers continued to disappear. When the supervisor found out he lied about it to protect his own job. When Larry and the work leader filed a grievance with HR.the whole s--show came crashing down. Larry got his back pay and the 3rd party management company had to pay it. The supervisor was suddenly recalled to Texas. My point is if someone would go to this level of deception over a janitor’s job what do you think people with real authority will do

These people might well have staged all this or not, I honestly do not have an opinion on that yet, I haven't finished the docu-series as of now, and need more research, but in episode one, after her mum shares that she was molested as a child, the officer says an ignorant and despicable thing, very nonchalantly. He says that 'sometimes women who have been SA, stage their own kidnappings and SA to relive the thrill of it'. Whilst I'm sure some women are disturbed like that, to paint all survivors of child or adult SA with that brush is pathetic and very ignorant. Just like if I'd say to that detective well, some men are psychopaths who SA women, you sure you aren't one? I would not trust that man to handle walking my dog, certainly not any police investigation. So whilst I do not have an opinion on the two of them yet, I do hold some very strong negative opinions of at least one detective on their case. Edit:Finishing episode 3 of the docu-series. Tragic what incompetent psychos ended up in that PD, they are truly a poor excuse for humans and cops. So sad what these people had to go through.

The FBI agent was dating the ex fiancé, she's the one the kidnapper wanted. And the powers that be decided they didn’t need to investigate him. And the former Chief of police told the press release guy to “Burn that B” when he spoke to the media. Then the angry public mob harassed her insanely because they were told she used resources they could have had for real crimes. And that doesn’t make sense because the only thing they ever did was badger Aaron or her.
