The video is nice but it is interesting to see how to make these realistic handle connections to the basket or the upper rim which looks quite tricky and chaotic.

Hi Denis thank you for the video, do you have any tips on modelling with splines and keeping your polycount (faces) low ? my polycount is sitting so high and I need less than 100000 for game assets.

I have a question unrelated to this video. When I go to the Selection panel and choose Polygon or Element after selecting an object (limb, head etc.) , I can't select any other area of the the human 3D model. I have to get out of the Modify section to be able to select another object (limb, head etc.) of the human. Do you know why this happens?
@DenisKeman8 жыл бұрын
+Karl Hans What this sounds to me is like you have the lock selection option enabled. Make sure you haven't pressed Space when you are doing a selection as that will enable that option that will freeze your current selection. Oh and if that is not the case, then make sure all your body parts of your mesh are attached to each other and not separate meshes.
@karlhans66788 жыл бұрын
Denis Keman The Lock isn't on. The body parts are separated into 15 objects, so that's the problem then. I'm trying to seperate specific parts of the body with the Attach function to give them each a different Set ID number. So afterwards I can use the Multi/Sub Object in Materials to give them textures.
@DenisKeman8 жыл бұрын
Karl Hans Well that is your issue then. Also i am aware of the multi sub object way of making multiple textures for a single object (character), and it's a really good way of usilizing more texture space for a single character.

Hi Guys! Im new in 3ds max and while creating something the object is dark, so its difficult to see frames and object lines as well. How can I illuminate it , at least like here? tnx in advance!

I made the basket using a conic shape so I divided the shape in 30 instead of 10. When I try to rotate each horizontal line all of them are selected. How can I rotate each one individually?

is it possible to do wire frames from a plane?
@DenisKeman7 жыл бұрын
Can't really do a wireframe on a plane as the plane only has 2 edges. This means that the edges would appear that way

Also I can't pick my path (the basket) like you did at 18:05
@DenisKeman8 жыл бұрын
You are literally the first to have ever told me that i go too fast, it's usually the opposite and people say that i go a bit slow :)
@DenisKeman8 жыл бұрын
In case you haven't done it, extract a line that you can use as the path and if that doesn't work then try and collapse the xForm and convert it into editable spline before choosing it as a path.
@blokfluitknaap98748 жыл бұрын
Denis Keman Well I'm a first-year student in 3d design so that's probably why I think that xD But yeah I'll try that, thanks!

No doubt its amazing but not complete tutorial P:((((( plz make it full not left us in middle :/
@DenisKeman8 жыл бұрын
+Aali.D.Gr8 Not sure what you mean when you say it's not a complete tutorial .. i basically go from nothing till the end in which you have the model done and ready for use
@AaliDGr88 жыл бұрын
Denis Keman no i mean dear bro i want a complex tutorial like this from scratch to end with texture animation material you done very awesome job but you did not made it same like you show picture in start like rounded sticks bending etc etc i want complexity like that in tutorial bcz i need it for myself and you stop the video during its making in end i want you made it same like the starting picture of any one i need it b.d.w your that tutorial was also amazing b.d.w where you from city country :O ??
@DenisKeman8 жыл бұрын
Aali.D.Gr8 OK so using this type of modeling that i used here you can pretty much model any of the models showed in the pictures. As for making an individual tutorial for all of them i don't think that will happen, mostly since it would be doing the same thing over and over and the second and more important reason free time. In the last month or so i started doing 60+ hours/week so free time is something i am struggling to get.
@xenxennon65497 жыл бұрын
"it's important to have an ODD number of sides .... " You then set the number of sides to 12 ! 12 is NOT odd. After this I gave up watching any further - if you can't distinguish between odd and even, how can we trust anything else you say?
@DenisKeman7 жыл бұрын
Well if you base your decision on me mixing up ODD and EVEN numbers while recording a video and not the final outcome then i'm sorry you didn't like the video
@markjohnson94027 жыл бұрын
Xen Xennon Wow ! I guess you never make a mistake, Mr. Perfect ! Well you missed a good video because of your judgementalism. I noticed him saying odd and picking even but I didn't have a stroke, LOL.
