I came here after watching your ZZTop does KillEmAll video and man, mad respect to you for how you approach these. There are so many "X in the style of Y" videos which are just basically taking X and adjusting minor details to sound like Y, but this here is honestly on a whole another level. Well thought-out and executed, this is a great example of actual synthesis between one artist's material and another artist's style, crating what is basically a self-sufficient piece. Honestly, simply a great thing you've done here, kudos to you and keep 'em coming!

They're unique, but each individual member has a sound and approach that they definitely have a fondness for. Once you can put yourself in the shoes of each individual member, you can at least come up with something that has the Tool vibe to some extent. This was a pretty exceptional example though, he definitely understands this song musically and he Tooled it very convincingly.

Well done! The only criticism I would add, is that it is lacking a few of Maynard's signature drawn out belts that ramp up with intensity, while the instruments also ramp up with a heavier swarm of controlled chaos. Definitely got the vibe down though.

Parts of it do. Vocals for sure not. Some riffs do. Bass not so much. Not mathy enough either 😂

you guys realize it's impossible to make a Tool song without months of preparation and decades of their experience and musical knowledge? Never mind the obvious lack of Maynard's vocals This attempt was absolutely good enough for a KZbin video
