This was excellent. Is there more context to this performance? Was it indeed a high school talent show or similar? The only timing issues I heard were most likely related to the lack of a decent mic/monitor setup. I know when I played in school events, it was a lot of work to get any decent sound and trust someone to make sure mics were on. That was mainly with simple songs. It takes a lot of talent to pull off something this complex with what looks like minimal audio support…and to keep going and get back in sync with each other without stopping.
@DrGsVidz6 ай бұрын
@@kylefolger This was a quarterly performance night at a public high school for students enrolled in the guitar class. It's not a competition. These guys have done this a few times now (you'll find more of their performances on my channel). The support staff is very limited and there's really no sound engineering...students just walk onto the stage, plug in, and start playing. Thanks for the positive response and feedback. These guys only rehearsed about 4-5 times on this song, which explains the handful of hiccups they had during the performance....I'm actually shocked they did as well as they did with so few practice sessions together.

@@dfisk79I don't see a stand or cable for the kick drum. Unless he's got it triggered somehow, I don't think the drums are mic'd at all. Not uncommon for school performances.

Wow - I never comment on KZbin vids but that drummer is pure talent. Sure he practised for a long time but this song is so difficult for seasoned drummers it that it take a large amount of natural ability. Looking forward to how he and the band develop. I’m also glad that the younger generation understand the magic of Tool. Bravo!
