WHY DID I CHOSE THOSE LANGUAGES ? 🔽 - Vanellope : In a recent interview, Sarah Silverman (Vanellope’s original voice actress) said that Vanellope was a jewish princess… So, that’s why I decided that she should speak Hebrew. - Pocahontas : Why isn't she speaking Powhatan? Because there’s no dubbing in Powhatan nor in any other native American language of ‘’Ralph Breaks the Internet’’, or even of the original ‘’Pocahontas’’ movie. Therefore I chose English, Pocahontas’ second language that she learnt thanks to John Smith. - Ariel : It was recently confirmed by Disney that the story takes place in the Mediterranean Sea and that Eric’s kingdom is somewhere in Italy, although the original story was written by a Danish author. Proof >> kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3q5gXydnrx3i7M - Moana : Since there is no Maori dubbing of ‘’Ralph Breaks the Internet’’, I’ve decided to use some lines from the first movie. - Red curtains and snow flakes are here to avoid the video to be blocked worldwide -

@@crazy_viking92 german here too :D Most people believe she is danish but disney debunked this from the beginning by confirming in the documentation of the movie on the dvd that the story takes place in the Mediterranean Sea. This documentation is like 15-20 years old. If you look at the flora and fauna of erics kingdom its clear it cant be denmark. The sealife is also way to exotic for the baltic sea. We see animals like white sharks, humpback whales, bottlenose dolphins, flamingos - all animals you cant find there but in the Mediterranean Sea you can. Palmtrees too. Also triton is a greek god. So my guess is: eric is italian, ariels parents (triton & athena) are greek and ariel and her sisters grew up learning to speak many different languages bc of the many countrys located at the Mediterranean Sea. Thats why she can speak italian, but her mother language is greek bc of her parents.

Nah it’s because the story could have harmful geopolitical implications seeing as the plot follows waring nations, if each one had a direct real world counterpart, it could be seen as Disney inserting themselves and calling one nation “good” or “bad”. Say instead of the conflict mainly being between Heart and Fang it was between Thailand and Indonesia, Thai and Indonesian audiences might feel offended that their country was portrayed negatively ykno? But by doing a general area (similar to how Scandinavia or Polynesia was in Frozen or Moana), they’re still able to draw from many diverse cultures without picking favourites

I read some people who wrote that the fact that the voice actors is Jewish doesn't mean the character Jewish too. But usually actors and voice actors think some facts about their character to make them more true, even so these facts aren't shown. Sarah Silverman has decided that Vanellope is Jewish and the movie directors agreed. Obviously the fact that Vanellope is Jewish doesn't mean she speaks Hebrew. Maybe is more probable that she speaks Japanese ("Sugar Rush" is a Japanese game) or German (because of her surname), but this is a KZbin video made for fun and the author wanted to share this fact about Vanellope. I liked it! Thank you!
@diddl037 ай бұрын
I agree with you. ☺️ I just wanted to add, that her surname doesn’t necessarily mean that she speaks German. Many Jewish (especially ashkenazi) people have a German surname, because in the Middle Ages, when people got surnames, many Jews lived in German-speaking areas, and then moved to eastern countries, like Russia or Ukraine and later to the UK and the US, where they still kept their surname. 😉
