Its always someone else’s fault, but it’s never the fault of “guests” who are given a second chance of living a healthy and safe life, but refuse to adapt and integrate. Respect to Denmark for protecting their country, something countries like France,Netherlands,and Belgium failed to do. Ofcourse there will be a proper percentage of immigrants behaving themselves, but you can’t blame the danish government for putting conclusions out of recent developments.

Okay so I’m not even strictly anti immigration per se and don’t really agree with what Denmark is doing, but this reporting is REALLY biased. There was no discussion about the types of problems increased immigration has caused (increasing crime, self segregated areas that aren’t really a part of mainstream society because people refuse to integrate etc) I mean even in the report where he was trying to be like “oh people are integrating well” a lot of people responded in Arabic which isn’t really showing that integration has worked out. There aren’t really any arguments as to why immigration would be considered good either, it’s all emotions, the sad music, shots of people crying, etc. I’m not against having a discussion on these kinds of topics but it should be factually based not just “feel sorry for these people”
@DralhaEureka
@DralhaEureka 3 жыл бұрын
What you are asking for is "unbiased" reporting between a side that wants to demonize refugees and send them back to be murdered and a side that wants to not do that. If they were covering human trafficking, would you say it was biased if they did not let the traffickers say some bs about how they are keeping their victims "from starving" or how their business is good for the economy? Your point about language is pure xenophobia. If you do not understand what someone in your country is saying because they are speaking Arabic or whatever else, then the solution is to mind your own damn business.
@FilAnd01
@FilAnd01 3 жыл бұрын
@@DralhaEureka No what I’m asking for is at least hearing arguments about why taking in refugees is good and bad, wanting to hear arguments from both sides, hearing about the consequences it has had in Denmark, etc. As I said I’m not necessarily in favour of sending people back, especially not to Syria which isn’t safe, but this is not much more than a propaganda piece masquerading as news reporting.
@FilAnd01
@FilAnd01 3 жыл бұрын
@@DralhaEureka I also don’t like how western centric the reporting is, even if it’s beside the point because this particular report was about denmark, but we never hear people talk about countries like Saudi Arabia and other gulf states taking in no refugees whatsoever and destabilising the region, people act like this is only Europe’s responsibility which it isn’t.
@ayylmao1182
@ayylmao1182 3 жыл бұрын
@@DralhaEureka to be fair we know European countries are all pretty close to each other in terms of whatever goes on in the world. For example in WWII, European countries United against Germany. With that being said a lot of these countries who just took these refugees in, especially France. Have had to deal with a lot of terrorism on there streets due to the freedom of speech demonstrated in these European countries. Using France as a prime example, They took all these people in, it shook up there culture and they were okay with it at first. Then because of free speech being taught in schools as well as the secularism (separation of church vs. state) in France you have terrorism being sparked all over because people use it to denounce their god Allah in terms of talking negatively about radicals like the taliban. And secularism on top of the free speech makes them perceive animosity toward their religion. Even though all religions are talked about negatively at one point or another. Then, because of all this, and because of these refugees strong views on their religion you have radicalism and now you have a teacher beheaded by his own students (his class makes up 70% refugees and 30% french civilians) in the middle of the street for exercising his free speech. Three killed in a knife attack while they were at church. And countless more that you can see yourself from 2004-present all of these terror attacks had relation to Islamic terrorist that were more than likely let into the country. Now the Right wing in France are gaining more and more traction because the people are becoming more and more scared to be out on the streets in case of a terror attack. And of course the right wing are vowing to put and end to it. Making the left weaker even though it’s not their fault. Now Other European countries are fearing the same might happen in their country and Denmark being a social Democratic state would want to do something about all this before a right wing uprising begins like it is in France. It’s all about self preservation and helping, but helping in a way that doesn’t endanger oneself. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_terrorist_incidents_in_France

People in Denmark are anti immigration due to the vast difference btw their culture, beliefs, and overall lifestyle in and the refugees. The refugees on the other hand want a safe place to live while things get better in their country (which would be the case for all of us, were we in the same condition), but why go to all the travel of going to countries that are very different from their own (culture, believes, ideology, and lifestyle wise)? Why not go to countries that are similar to your own? And why are those countries similar in culture, etc to the refugees not taking those refugees in great numbers, but criticize European countries for not taking more refugees. And this goes the same for the public too. Why criticize people for not taking all refugees in, but at the same time ignore the countries that should take them in?

ghettos form because of income disparities and as minorities move into a neighborhood white flight starts happening & often with it, capital. Where is an immigrant going to move? to the wealthy area full of white people, or the low income housing area full of other immigrants? this is how it works in the US and I imagine it would be similar in Denmark and other European countries. Denmark like many other European countries are just suffering from a reactionary political group leveraging immigration to gain political power. It wouldn’t surprise me that a large immigrant group would have a criminal element(every mass migration in US history had a mafia associated with it) but looking at crimes vs population (i believe denmark has ~400k immigrants from MENAPT countries) this whole thing seems quite overblown. The overwhelming majority of immigrants are not committing crimes and are just looking for a peaceful life.

Exactly, started to live in an other country, learned beforehand their language, helping in a voluentary fire department on the weekends and try to do my best, and that as academic worker/technician with a foreign expert Visa, giving my best. Some that contributes to the economy, a lot of refugees countribute nothing and behave that their new host country is theirs, which is just disgusting.
@ykMMD
@ykMMD 2 жыл бұрын
Ok but, having a civil war breaking out, forcing you and your family to run away with no notice, leaving almost everything you own behind doesn't leave you much time to learn the language beforehand does it? Maybe you should look up the definition of a refugee and the one an immigrant. "and that as academic worker/technician with a foreign expert Visa", wow isn't life so easy for you :') They are refugees, and it is most likely that their diplomas and experience are not recognized. Imagine being a university professor or a journalist in your home country and ending up working in a warehouse or fast-food chain at minimum wage because your diploma is considered garbage. As if they had the time to prepare a lengthy visa application while bombs were falling on their neighborhood lol. Once arriving in a new country as a refugee your main concern is finding an apartment, getting your children to school and money to support your family, learning a new language might not make it as a priority sadly. You need a reality check. Isn't so easy to judge people when you are not in that position?
@sad_wrangler8515

@@ykMMD Not everyone is fleeing from war and in most countries you are mandated to be enlisted in the military like in Ukraine and for the last couple of years Ukraine against Donetsk was a civil war, because it was Ukraine separatist against Ukraine loyalists against each other until Russia joined the separatist forces with an invasion of the country. Also no, refugees do not be concerned about "finding an apartment, getting your children to school and money to support your family", because Austria, Sweden and Germany, France is doing all of that. It is installed in the refugee process, only the balkan states and Greece do not do that, because they want them to leave, so they try to make any stay as unpleasant as possible. In general there just exist a right to seek asylum, no state has to grant it and especially Danmark is doing a good job. Because their research is bringing to the light that not even 1/3 of all seekers do not meet the criteria for asylum in any way.

As a Muslim I don't think we're trying to turn other countries into stans but if Muslim refugees and immigrants truly want a safe place with majority Islam come to Malaysia, or other Islamic countries EDIT: wow the reception is odd to say the least, the point of my message is that if truly muslim immigrants and refugees seriously wanted sharia law / islamic principles so badly they'd just move to some of the already existing perfectly fine islamic countries rather than just move to a place they don't like and try and change it we're religious, but that doesn't mean we're conniving evil masterminds who despite being supposedly smart enough to secretly turn a country with several thousand years of history into a predominantly Islamic run one, somehow not smart enough to just take the easy route instead and move to somewhere where sharia law / islamic principles are already implemented and been there for thousands of years.

Denmark has been accepting muslim immigrants for decades, many which have refused to embrace Danish culture. With the recent flood of refugees, DK has been pushed to a breaking point of how many it can feasibly accept, while an ever increasing amount refuse to integrate into the Danish society. Denmark is a very small country, which is ill equipped to handle this kind of demand for taking on such a large population. They have in fact been one of the more accepting countries within this area, but of course its better to make a polarizing statement these days. This is a much broader issue than Vice is making it out to be, and one that deserves a more thoughtful title than the divisive one shown on this video.

We have zero and I do mean ZERO responsibility to house and care for hundreds of thousands of refugees who travel through a bunch of other perfectly safe countries before they reach us, we also need to pressure countries like the UAE to take in more immigrants since they are a country close by which also have the same values as middle eastern refugees. That being said, I am not anti immigration, I'm just pro-stricter immigration.

Rather than pressuring countries like the UAE or Saudi for that matter into taking refugees we need to look at their model as why these people with nothing in common with Europe would rather settle in Europe rather than a country aligned with their beliefs. If I remember correctly the UAE only issue 2yr work visas, any crime committed your automatically sent back to your country of origin(no lengthy court battles as in Europe), if you fall sick with no means to pay, again your sent packing, you’ve got to submit test results for STD’s every year and the big one is you’ll never become a citizen regardless whether your second generation or third, so you can see why Europe would look more attractive alternative.
