thanks for this great lesson! I heard Billy Gibbons say he was influenced by Jimmy Reed and did a search on youtube, found your lesson. Man! It's so great! I'm 52 years old and have been playing for a long while and now..I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. You're a great teacher.

Nice vid Dennis. I've folks say that those kind of blues rhythms are easy. Well ! they are not easy to play as smooth and fluid as you do. It takes a great feel and touch to play like that and you timing has to be spot on to make that progression flow. Nice job Brother !!! Mike

Hi Mr. Slider, It's a Fender 1965 Deluxe Reverb RI but the reverb your hearing is coming from a Fender 65DR Pedal that has digital reverb on it. I know....it's a messbut what the hay?? Thank you for your kind comments.............Dennis

Jimmy Reed had two to three guitarists on those tracks. The basic shuffle is distinguished by the need to fret the 2nd, 4th, and 5th frets on the higher of the two strings while holding down the root note, which is too much of a stretch for many of us - maybe too much for Jimmy because he created a special lick for the 5 chord. The Reed version is harder than the usual version where you just go back and forth between the 2nd and 4th frets.
