@Halokon5 жыл бұрын
There are more left-wing members of the Democrats now. but the middle of the party (the majority of it's membership) has stayed exactly where it's been for decades. The GOP have obviously got their equivalent hard-right to the DNC's hard-left, but the middle of the GOP, the heart of it's membership, has drifted to the right since the 80's. The DNC still has plenty of moderates, the fact that you could actually count the more left-wing people on one hand proves it, and 2 or 3 lefties doesn't change the identity of a party. The GOP doesn't have moderates any more. You have centrists who might be socially liberal and fiscally conservative, sure, but again, not many. The great majority of the GOP are extreme in their ideology, and their senate leader, Mitch McConnell, is determined to grind democracy to a halt just so he gets his way. The idea that the DNC has become more extreme is facile and false, especially when they're headed by Pelosi and Schumer, the epitome of weak liberalism, and their lack of opposition is why the GOP and Trump are getting away with their roughshod ride across democratic norms. Countering selfish, corporate self-interest will require the DNC to ACTUALLY go to the left, at which point people who just want things to stay the exact same forever because they're benefiting can moan. As it is, the fact that people want rights that are denied to them by a government that is determined to cave in to the wants of corporations, or worse, actual fascists, is hardly an insane move, it's a logical reaction to a right-wing growing in power despite not being backed by the majority of the country.

@@Halokon Well, that's your opinion but I think most of us look at the dems and the hard lefties in the DNC as the tail wagging the dog. The hard left is the tail and the squeaky wheel gets the oil because it's the hard left in the DNC that speaks the loudest. No counter argument or position is listened to by the far left dems....debate isn't allowed. And if it's even attempted it's shouted down with labels of "racism", "sexism" etc.....even when it in no way applies. It's actually the far left that have become the "fascists"....it's their way only. What rights "specifically" are denied to people by the gov't???? Specifically....what?

Dennis has never lost his objectivity! He's brutally honest & truthful! He doesn't follow the sheep because he's stays situationally aware, where most dont! As far as Larry King? I was born in '61. Larry was a constant cnn staple, just as Barbara Walters. I remember when he had a much younger Donald Trump on his show. Within the first minute or so, Trump commented about how foul Larry's breathe was. Many found this to be offending to say? But even then? Trump wasn't political correct! He didn't smoke, drink or use drugs. At that time? Larry was a chain smoking maniac! And I'm certain his breath reeked like putrid decomposition or rotting garbage! So whom was really offending here? If someone's halitosis was that bad & very distracting? Wouldn't you ask them if they could realize such a funky stench? People has their own point of veiws? But many tend to shroud that in such politically correct situations? Why suppress them in such situations? It creates a mass confusion of false narratives! I'm not saying if your boss at work is obese, to tell him your honest opinion that's he's a fat bastard? Or anything relative to that? I'm just saying, Trump tells you what's going on if you're to cowardly to say it yourself! He's the best thing we needed to shake up these political shills in positions of trust they abuse! The msm is fake as hell too! That's where we'd assume where there'd be some truth? The truth is what's biased & hypocritical or opinionated isn't exactly "the truth"! Sometimes the truth is ugly! So if it is, why not give it as that without sugar-coating it as "okay"? A life saver or breath mint would've sufficed? If you're doing one on one interview? But I can only guess that none of the crew, make up peeps, etc didn't have the balls to mention such a thing to King Larry himself? No pun intended! He wasn't the respectful one to his own guest! It's like unleashing a horrible fart and expecting the whole room to tolerate that stink! Lmao! I'm not insulting Larry by any means! I watched him for decades! I'm just saying? Snowflakes & libtards expect more then just tolerance! They expect everyone to tolerate untolerables as these?

Yeah, the same platform that demonetises any LGBT content but says that Steven Crowder is fine to be monetised provided he doesn't link to his "Socialism is for f*gs" shirt is skewing hard left... Big Data and Big Tech etc are not hard left, in the slightest. They may want to look like they care about minorities, which for some reason the right has decided is a bad thing (despite various right-wingers espousing social liberalism), but they don't actually care, they just don't want their income affected. If they were really left wing (let alone hard left), they'd be happy to advance left-wing causes, would desire strong unions and would pay their taxes. But they don't, because they are capitalist entities, and as such, only truly care about profits. They happily host actual Nazis (not a hyperbolic descriptor for right wing people, I mean Swastikas, calls for genocide etc.) provided they cloak it in a gossamer thin veil and they bring profits. They may occasionally ban people who let the mask slip too much, but not because they disagree with it (nor agree, they just don't care) but because the possible backlash for hosting Nazis could hurt their profits. And none of that is left wing, at all. That's capitalism. And arguably right-wing, but it's sort of it's own thing, profit at any cost.
@dner75-xh9le6 жыл бұрын
For a man of references, all Dennis needs to do to counter the "You've changed" arguments is to point to Billy Jeff's 1995 State of the Union address, where he talked about how serious of an issue illegal immigration was (and now it's worse). What Miller and Seinfeld are forgetting is that college kids never wanted to watch 60 year old comedians. When I was in college in the late 80s there was nobody on campus thinking "I hope we get to see Buddy Hackett or Alan King".

Larry had so many counterpoints to not wanting to support Iran, yet acted like he has no clue on free speech being rejected by our college institutions now.

I guess normalcy is the reason I have college football on all day Saturday. The vibe is just like it was decades ago seemingly unaffected by all the insanity going on now.

Everybody's talking about Dennis Miller, but how about a shout out to Larry King? The man is 83 in this clip. Do you think you'll be as good at anything as he is at interviewing when you're 83?

Socially liberal and fiscally conservative makes you rather foolish, because social liberalism is VERY EXPENSIVE.
