Rodman celebrated if his opponent got a foul or a tech. It looked silly but his victories was not just scores and rebounds. He celebrated getting into their heads and taking them out their game. That was like a monster dunk to him. Deceptively smart

That was the Detroit Pistons. Chuck Daley, Laimbeer, Mahorn, Isaiah, Rodman, Dumars, Vinny, Edwards. They were a team, backing down from nobody. Two legends. Rodman probably my favorite Defensive PF of all time and as a old time Knick fan Oakley will forever be the face of the tough no nonsense 90's knicks. Oak was the enforcer and in many ways did many of the same things Rodman did (although no one does it better than rodman).

Oakley crashed the boards and often held rodman in check rebounding wise. Rodman was more like a "worm" squirming his way to a rebound. Oakley quite literally ran and crashed his body into players to get the rebound.. different types of players.

@@soramirez5473 💯. Rodman had a gift of seeing the trajectory of the ricochet to know where to go to get the rebound. Definitely also will out hustle and out-cardio you. Oakley was a rock, that was a master at boxing out, and had the strength to tassel with the big men. It certainly wasn’t his hops. Like you said he uses his body to get rebounds, Barkley was like that too, short, didn’t have high hops, but that 6’6 frame would feel Ike a 6’10 frame.

Oakley is actually the menace in these videos, which shows a bias that goes on today.

The fact oak sent his whole body and couldn’t drop Rodman and in fact he fell is proof of the advanced knowledge of physics Rodman has. Which he also used to reb too.

Wow!!! I remember how intense those games were and players having to wear face mask. The whole family would be gathered around the tv on edge...

One of the things Oakley had figured out about Dennis Rodman was you had to beat him at his own game. Everyone knew how strong and a physical player Dennis Rodman was. Everyone else also knew how intimidating and imposing Charles Oakley was.

Gotta love 90's PF battles, and I love 90s NBA. Bark Malone Oak Kemp LJ Rodman Thorpe HGrant BWilliams DColeman TCummings, I'm sure I'm leaving some out but it was the era of the ballers with balls with characters inside.

Came here from an article written by a VIRGIL VILLANUEVA about Oakley. Oak tried to say he kicked Rodman out his steakhouse which may have very well happened but to then say Rodman was soft and was just a "good" rebounder is ludicrous. He said some other crap too which doesn't surprise me bc it's oak lol but yea
