Beautiful truck!!! I have a 1985 GMC Sierra Classic K3500 Regular Cab with 454 that I purchased from the original owner who kept a diary of everything he ever did to the truck with the date and mileage he did it on. He told me he had trouble ordering it with a 454. They wanted to order it with a 350. He persisted and got what he wanted. I bought in 2009 with 65,000 original miles. Best part is that it was a factory brown truck so I made it into a Fall Guy truck replica. I’ve been offered $40k. That’s insane, I bought for $5500.00. Anyway, love seeing trucks that have been taken care like that. Most trucks are used and scrapped.!!! Great Video!

That truck is a serious statement. Love it! The fact that's been sitting for that long and it still looks that great is testament to its build quality *and* the fact that it was kept in an environment and climate that has managed to protect it for that long is very satisfying to see. I get sad whenever I see a car left outside for years to rot, so seeing this still looking brand spanking new is simply marvellous 🙂👌.

If it's taken to an auction with no reserve, it will fetch the price of what someone is willing to pay for it and it *can* end in major disappointment. I used mine to pull a 40ft enclosed 5th wheel back and forth from South Florida, to North Georgia loaded to the max, overloaded most of the time, and it had no problems pulling it. The only problem it had was it loved gas so much that I had a 100gl tank installed in the bed to go along with the other 2 factory tanks. lol. I wanted to be able to drive straight through on my runs without having to stop for gas every 100 miles. lol. Pulling the loaded 40ft 5th wheel maxed out I was getting around 6 mpg.

Note that back in the day, GMC and Chevy were 100% interchangeable except for trim and badging. oldcarbrochures.com/static/NA/GM%20Trucks%20and%20Vans/1980_Trucks-Vans/1980%20Chevrolet%20Pickups/1980%20Chevrolet%20Pickups-16.html

Back when that truck was new my friend worked as a mechanic at a Chevy / GMC dealership and I remember new cars or trucks that sat around on the lot for an extended period would get sticky valves. Their cure at that time was to take the vehicle out to the farthest corner of the dealership ( it was a large one covering several acres ) and set the idle up to 2-3K and slowly pour a quart of transmission fluid in the carb until the engine smoothed out and any clacking went away and then let it run until it quit smoking.

I had a 1979, round headlight, C35, crew, dual, 454 4 bbl Q-Jet, THM-400, camper special, and the brake booster looked like the on in this tan truck, white with blue interior. The original owners had added an extra leaf on the main bundle and two extra on the overload and had enclosed the C channel from behind the cab to the upsweep for the rear suspension; they used it for a massive camper. It was very heavy duty. Empty, she rode like a buckboard; loaded, smoothed right out. We could put as much into bed as it could hold, be it wet logs, gravel, rock, you name it; she would squat hard on the overloads, but when one put her in gear, she would just idle her way along, never feeling like she was straining. 12 mpg empty was the best we ever got; 8-9 mpg bed loaded. The few times she had a trailer on her, she would just shrug it off. Great truck, and I wish I had the need again for this one.
