The wheels are Gas Burners made by Mahle. Having the 5x130 bolt pattern and the 901 serial number means they are likely original and we’re intended for a 911 though they may have been available on the 914 also

Further these Mahle wheels are mostly magnesium and are extremely light, but in the event of a catastrophic fire they'll catch on fire and burn. These wouldn't fit on a 914 unless it was a 914/6.

@@jimohara4796 I’ve seen these on a four cylinder 914 but wouldn’t have been original as the four cylinder cars were 4x130 PCD, not difficult to do though like my bug rolling on Fuchs. A friend had original Gas Burners on his Cal look bug years ago, you can buy aluminum replicas now.

The chicken looks pretty juicy… I’m no Porsche expert, but those wheels look like they’d be at home on a 914 (different finish than I’ve seen) - I’m looking forward to hearing the verdict.

@@pete5534 I'm no authority on Porsches and was wondering back when this car was built and optional wheels were ordered, was the 5th wheel or spare a steelie, and you only got 4 optional wheels? Guess we'll find out after Dennis does some perusing. Also, that was a new wheel to me. Back in the day it was steel rims or Fuchs. Maybe mini-lites. Learn something new everyday!

Dennis is always cool as hell. I had a 911T just out of high school. Bought it for $3,500.... sold it a few years later for $5,000 and thought I hit a homerun 😔. It was silver with black interior, 100% stock, zero issues and beautiful. From what I remember it had about 60k on it. Oh, it was a 1968.

Me too bought mine for 3500 fixed it up myself. And sold it for 10k. Used money for “oil project”lol. Mine was originally in viper lime green and I had the T wheel well chrome trim. It was repainted early in its life. Sadly I did not put it back to original color. Really affected value. I know better know. Luv to find it and buy it back. ❤

Dennis this is CIS injected so no need to pump the gas pedal, there is a choke lever between the 2 seats where the emergency bake is located. you pull that lever up first and it will start first time every time. I know i used to have a 1973.5 911 T CIS with 19k original miles similar like you one you're looking at.

I had a 1975 Porsche 911S and when I closed my doors they sounded like a vault. Very solid sound. The doors on that 1973T did not sound like a vault.

Another great vid. Great find in that 911. You're one lucky fella. You always seem to fall ass backwards into rare option cars. Love the interior and wheels on that 911 and the color. It all just goes together perfectly. Going to be a awesome thing if it comes back that it left the factory with those wheels. I mean it does have 5 matching wheels, so the odds might be in your favor. That meal looked Awesome too. Had my mouth watering. Keep up the great vids.
