I have to comment on your Fathering/boss skills. You have blessed your boys with every kind of skill they will need for a good life. Kevin is a king. I buy, sell and work on Military Diesel Generators as a hobby and its always so interesting to find what has been done, right or wrong or whats missing or spare parts that come along that do not even belong to that equipment. Can't imagine tearing into a Dozer this is so exciting.

Andrew Camarata swears by his 2-way radio headsets. You can talk in a normal speaking voice, and communicate easily with the person with the other headset. They would be perfect in a situation like where you were guiding Tucker with the hoop hanging from the forklift.

Well...congratulations you painted a rebuilt motor. It looks great, like you spent your time and heart rebuilding it. Now if you would just cut an emblem on your water table of your C&C logo to attach to the grill it would look really custom. Call it a signature of your hard work, like the custom shops do. Imagine being somewhere in a few looking at a dozer hard at work and there it is...your logo. Last longer than a sticker...probably cheaper to put out, last longer Nice looking job Kevin on the paint work👍👍

Back in the late 60s I bought a surplus Checker 8-door airport vehicle for $75 for a small church. The cab had a new engine, interior, and AF blue paint and was in top-notch shape. When they got it back together, some airman decided the clutch needed to slip while he drove it. The Gov. bean counters decided that the clutch repair cost would put it over the set "Do not repair amount" so it was declared surplus. The preacher drove me to the airbase, where a clutch adjustment made it driveable and we brought it back about 200 miles. A local parts store donated a new clutch and it took about 3 hours to make the repair. It was used for a couple of years and then the need for a bigger church customer carrier meant it got donated to somewhere that needed a Checker 8-door. One other time I bid a buck for 50 some bedpan washers and got them. Also got some neat ammo boxes and stuff that sold for enough to pay for everything including picking them and some other auction items up plus some pocket change. The bedpan washers made great sprinklers and gag gifts. My suspicion is that was the same place you snag some of your stuff from today. Kevin could have used one of those bedpan washers as a Nitros sprayer so his Camino engine and body pieces would be coming down in pieces over 10 counties.

Hope you bid it right ! This reminds me of a time in the Navy when we reassembled an NC 8 mobile power unit that had been heavily scavenged. The hydraulic and electrical guys had finished their work and us on the mechanical side completed our work or so we thought and were in the process of firing it up for the first time. When the 4/53 Detroit fired off it went immediately to an ungoverned WOT because of an electronic governor failure. When the emergency cable was pulled it was discovered that nobody hooked it up ! A quick thinking and very brave First Class Petty Officer reached in and manually tripped the blower to shut it down. A mistake nobody will ever forget !

I was driving through northern Virginia on I-81 the other day and stumbled upon a radio station that was playing the best assortment (mix) of Christmas music ever. Great series going on this 850J. The fork lifts work nicely for your shop. I was used to working with overhead cranes but sometimes we had to supplement jobs with the fork lifts with the same type of lifting arms. Purty dern cool to watch🧐

You have to put your detective hat on with parts queens like this, trying to figure out who did what and why so there are no surprises. I love the fact that what you guys do have is basically a new machine. Once it's done, someone is going to have a great dozer that they'll get years of reliable service out of. I always need to remind myself after watching your videos that I have absolutely no use for a former military piece of heavy equipment because now I want one, haha.
