yes , it´s true . there was more than one model with static platter . I own a pair of dns 1200 and I simply love them . I've got a pair of cdj´s 850 , too .But my heart is with Denon .I´m really happy about this sc 2900 .I gues this time Denon do the job !!! I want a pair of these , I ´ve been playing music over 30 years .

UPDATE,there is now hrybrid midi mode for this player,and a mapping for serato scratch live,it does req a sl1/2 ect box for the hybrid to work,and the player is now native to virtual dj 7.4,and the amazing thing is that the led platter works on VDJ plus when your track progreses the led plater changes colour,which is a cool,these players are now starting to get out there shell now

As you say in the video here, " Denons own software which is called Engine,you can link two of together with a Network cable or use a router and with Engine you can use your Laptop to throw tunes at these and tell it to go the the player and it literally goes to the player and it loads it transfers the player then has a copy of that music for that time you play in that song , Its takes the tune from the laptop and plays it , its using the power in the Denon SC2900 and you can use any crappy laptop cause the tunes are being loaded into the players" So then if I get the DJM-T1 mixer it should over all work with what you have said here

Haven't used either of those things in years and never together so we can't be much help here (keep in mind they might not even work with the current version of Engine), it'll work fine as just a mixer and some CDJs though

If you use this with a Denon x1700, would the x1700 have a Traktor soundcard and you could use it was a DVS without using timecode? Or how could you use them both (a pair of these decks and an x1700 mixer) to control Traktor scratch pro? Or at least Traktor pro? Thanks!

hi phil. could you make a video showing how to get the Hyrbid midi mode to work on these decks when using them with Taktor scratch. I'm using a Traktor Z2 mixer and i cant get the decks to work when in hybrid midi mode. Any help would be appreciated and thanks for the great videos!

Greetings to you,i like to know if the Denon DJ Sc2900 complies with a hard disk of about 500GB or more apart from the flash drives and other smaller usb storage devices we've seen in the exibitions in case i don't wanna use a computer?

Hey, still looking for a backup device and media player, and with the price of these now days I'm thinking this might be the best bet. I had spent some time looking into small format players such as the CDJ-350 and other similarly sized players, but I just haven't quite decided to jump and buy one. I'm mainly looking for a backup device at the moment, but later I might be inclined to buy a second one. Would you say that the 2900 is still a good choice? With the recent changes, Denon becoming part of the same parent company as Numark and Akai, would you think that these will be around and readily available for quite a while, just in case I decide to get a second later on? Please, give me any input you can pertaining to a backup device, I'm using a Terminal Mix 8 and also, at times a MTP2, which I often use with an analog mixer to get better use of my mic, and to have backup audio sources. For now my backup consists of an iPod or borrowing a CDJ from another DJ that I know. Thanks again for all that you do!

Would this work with Serato DJ, or would I be better off going with the 3900? I'm going to wait for some user feedback on the NDX500, and it's either that or one of these Denon players. For now I'll stick to my iPod for a backup, but hope to have a tabletop media player soon. I've really been wanting a small format player so I have decided to wait for NDX500 reviews, if I had a place to check out the Denon close to me I'd likely have picked one up already. Any input would be great!

I must have crossed into another dimension when a touch jog is called "old school". As for performance in Traktor, that's not really a flaw with the jog. That's Traktor's simulation of slipmat friction, or in other words, the delay between when touch is released and how long it takes depending on rotation speed that the music picks back up. I don't know if this have been made adjustable in Traktor, but in VDJ they finally implemented my recommendations to make all these parameters optional. So in VDJ 8 you can have the music pick up immediately when you release regardless of rotation at one extreme, have it continue to scratch or spin back until the jog stops, or anywhere in between in this continuum. BTW, anyone know if they ever got the pitch res up to 0.1% at 100, and what the digital out is set at (16 or 24bit)?

They are old players and I can’t advise on how to get them working nowadays, best place to try and find help would be the Denon DJ forums.

@@digitaldjtips So then what your saying is might be better to look at something different, like maybe the Numark NDX500, I sort of had a feeling that those Denon SC2900 might have trouble getting drivers for them and then be screwed not being able to use them,Im also looking at the Numark Scratch Mixer, with Serato in in it, that's what the tech guy told me to look at from Denon

You're going to have that problem with any old gear, the Numark Scratch is a solid mixer and new so you'll have no issue getting it working

I feel that beat matching is an important art to master before ever touching the sync button. Kinda like a pharmacist, first they learn how to do everything and once they show their skills are allowed to use computers to make the medicine. The same should be said for deejays, master it and then move on to something more creative!

good job for making cue and play buttons not ribber, usb port on top not from the back and waveform created for cd mode too, only one thing i do not like here is they removed effects section.

The problem here is every few players Denon changes its music management software and none of them are compatible with each other. And that screen sucks! And the don't support their old software.

20 years from now all Dj equipment will have the sync botton. Im not against sync botton it just. they should not put it on decks. midi controller maybe. but not on decks next thing you know CDJ's and T-1200's will have sync botton as well. anyway my point is if they take away beat matching by ear. it beats the purpose of being a Dj. when you start Djing its the first lesson your mentor will ever teach you to do. take that away then everyone can Dj. even your grandma.

no sera to support would be a failed. I love Denon, but they have fallen behind Pioneer.
