The series was called ROOM RAIDERS (MTV) - This episode, from about 2005, features Rob, Brandon, Raymond and Josh. ROOM RAIDERS was a dating "reality" series. Once in a while there were gay people. Most episodes were heterosexual - a guy searching the rooms of 3 different girls, or a girl searching the rooms of 3 guys. MTV shows like this were not entirely real. Writers were on hand to suggest things for participants to say and do to make it more dramatic.

Look at what the Weather Channel got caught doing this last year to over-dramatize the weather, of all things. I think it's safe to say that if it's on television then it's not all it appears to be.

Because his room was “nice and crisp.” I watch these and think of how they’re young and hearing the things that they like/dislike and it makes me look back and reflect on whether my priorities were that awful!!😂 Some of the things they bring up that they don’t like I literally SMH because it’s just a terrible thing to judge them negatively about or to be a dealbreaker. I mean, the one about the guy with the “too ripe” bananas! Yea, he ended up choosing him in the end, but it was a consideration in his decision! He was mad judging about them and they weren’t like rotten, just extremely ripe and about to be. Lol. Some people like them that way, or maybe he was planning to make some banana bread, which needs really ripe, soft bananas. It would be terrible to not pick someone because they like their bananas really ripe and soft. Haha 😂 🤦🏼‍♂️

XD MTV was definitely at an awkward space 15 years ago, the music videos and music television was dying down, weird adolescent cartoon takeover was dwindling down, and they hadn't yet sold their soul to reality television for young adults full time- so they had a lot of room to experiment with 'risque' kind of stuff like this.

When the YT algorithm takes you down a very surprising path. While this may have been posted 8 years ago, the filming was closer to 20. I knew Raymond, very cute and sweet guy and his “roommate”, a colleague of my husband and close friend and I designed an extensive remodel to that penthouse.
