I currently have the elite firm but only for a few days. If it doesn’t fit me good after the 30 days I want to move to the elite euro top mattress. Hopefully that will work out better because I’m a side sleeper and I sink in more with euro

We just purchased the Elite Firm today based on some of your information. Even though my wife is a side-sleeper, she found it to be comfortable for her and it accommodates by sleeping on my back. Thanks for taking the time to outline the various models. I stopped into the store today and tried the Elite Plush mattress and knew pretty much right away it's going to be the one I'll get. It's nice to hear a bit more tech specs on the mattress construction, as you outlined. I'll try a few other competitors just to make sure I don't find myself liking something else a bit more, but I'm nearly positive I'll be getting the Elite Plush. Definitely much more comfortable than the current basic Purple mattress I've had for the past 7 years, now that it's starting to reach the end of its life-cycle and causing lower back stiffness and hip pain. If I do get the Elite, I'm hoping to get a good 10 years or so out of it, which didn't quite happen with the Purple, unfortunately.

Great videos! Can you tell me the edge stability longevity between the Denver mattress doctors choice elite euro top, which I think is foam edged, vs the coiled edge system on the sealy posturepedic plus hybrid brenham soft? So, in your opinion, which is better and more long lasting? I think we are down to these 2 mattresses. The Sealy being about $600 more. Thoughts?

In both cases, the softer foam on top will weaken the edge a little, but underneath that they each have solid edge support (albeit different from different methods, as you pointed out). If nothing else though, I'd probably give the edge (no pun intended) to the Doctor's Choice Elite on account of its tape edge construction (vs the "waterfall" edge on the Brenham). This provides a slight improvement to the quality of the edge, particularly when lying down. How would the Hybrid Luxury Firm compare with something like the Helix Midnight?

So these are going to be pretty similar models, though the Helix Midnight should have a slightly higher overall coil count and a touch more memory foam feel. The Doctor's Choice models are also quilted, so that will give them a little more surface softness than the Midnight (which is unquilted). I hope that's helpful.

Great video. I am highly considering the Elite Collection, likely Elite firm, but hoping you can answer a general question: The top layer of Elite has the cooling technology you described, however most companies (including Denver Mattress) recommend or even require that you cover the mattress with a protective cover of some kind to honor their guarantees. How do you get the benefit of the construction of these mattresses while also protecting them? Is there perhaps a thin or breathable top that is recommended? Or other approach? Do many people just not use a protective cover?

Hi there -- Thanks for your question. This is a super-common concern for any mattress that has cooling features like this. Personally, I wouldn't let this affect the mattress protector I use at all. The protector (and even the fitted sheet for that matter) doesn't actually eliminate the benefit, it just delays it a bit. Basically, anything between you and the mattress just means the heat from your body will take longer to reach the mattress. This delay will reduce the readily perceptible "coolness to the touch," however once that heat reaches the mattress (and a protector + sheet certainly won't prevent it from doing so), the cooling feature will perform the same function of absorbing that heat. I hope that's helpful.

Great break down of all the models. We recently purchased the Doctors Choice Firm Mattress with the connected coil system. It is a true Firm if not an extra firm mattress. We have had 3 different Sealy Costco Mattress's that were all firm. None of them lasted over 6 months without feeling like we were sinking in. That is the only reason I went with the connected coils over individually wrapped coils. After you explained how Denver Mattress alternates their individual coils I might go back and look at the elite firm. The one we currently have is just a little to firm. I'm just afraid the elite with the added memory foam will eventually have a sunken feeling too. Thank You for such a Great Video.

Thanks for the kind words. And you're right - connected coils do support differently and are often preferred by people for this reason. Denver Mattress is one of the few major manufacturers still making these.

Hi Andrew -- Thanks for your question. This is a tough one to answer, since in my opinion, the term "brand" is too broad to be applicable here, meaning that there is no overall "brand" that can be best for you. Rather, the key to giving your back proper spinal alignment (which is what it needs) will be about selecting the right "model" for your particular needs. On top of that, you'll want to choose a model that has the feel that suits your comfort preferences and any features that may be important to you. All that said, there are certainly a number of models within the Denver Mattress / Doctor's Choice collections that could meet this criteria for you. I hope that's helpful.

@@goodbed buying a new one is so hard and I live nowhere near a store of any kind. I took the quiz on your website but it gave me options that I didn't think would work lol. But what do farmers know about beds 🤣I definitely do not like soft to medium soft as that is what my 8 yr old serta icomfort is now and my back hurts. I've been leaning towards a saatva, nectar, wink, and maybe the Denver mattress.
