Denver’s policies to welcome and support migrants have led the city to a point where there is no more money and no more space.
Advocates for migrants say the city should close its doors to new arrivals as Denver prepares to start discharging families who’ve been living in shelters for months.
"This is where we are. It’s not going to be easy," said Yoli Casas, Director of Vive Wellness. "It is going to be a huge challenge."

Don’t make promises you can’t keep. I was in Denver as a contract worker. I was put up in a hotel that was over run of by migrants. I asked a bunch guys that were drinking and smoking pot in the hallway to please move since I had to be up at five a.m to drive to Longmont. When I returned the next day I was told by the front desk that they would not tolerate my racism. I am Hispanic so I was confused about what was racist about asking a bunch of drunks at two in the morning to go party somewhere else. Good intentions are useless if taxpayers suffer the consequences of poorly thought out promises.

I'm homeless right now, been living out of my car for the past few months. I have checked into getting assistance but since I was born in Denver and have paid taxes to this City and State every since I got my first job at 14, I don't qualify I guess... So, yes it is true that these "asylum"seekers"do get priority on this aid and even get further assistance that is not available to the test of us. All Byedumb has to do is reverse his disastrous boarder policies and this will end but I don't think they've hit their target number for future Democrat voters yet.

I feel ya! I'm already two payments behind on my mortgage and can't get a job where I live. I might be living in my car soon too which I pray to God not! I doubt I would survive because it's seriously hard living. I will keep you in my prayers. Just try and hang in there best you can. Take one day at a time and know that God is with you every step of the way. Ask churches. Catholic churches especially and Synagogues. They are both usually more funded with money and resources than Methodist, Baptist etc... churches.
