As a landlord, how can I do a credit and background check on a person who does not have a lawful presence in this country, has no ID or SS number? This puts the neighboring tenants at risk. This is the problem already - they get arrested, no way to tell who they are. They can give any name. They need numbers tattooed on them! Plenty of these morons trying to block credit and background checks too. LOL! They are just raising their own rents!! As somebody who used to be a tenant, I kept a clean record so I could keep doing that, and I would really appreciate it if the LL checked the new guy's background before giving them keys! This is a big problem that needs to be addressed. Most places they can just keep fighting and appealing a losing case to get free rent. Here in NC, you have to pay the rent to the court to hold in escrow during arguments, you can't appeal if you have no money and now you have 10 days to disappear. Many of these people get free lawyers and other legal help - just to play their dumb mind games. Don't matter who your lawyer is - you either paid or you didn't.

The rulers of the sanctuary cities should rent out their spare rooms and basements for "affordable rates". Guaranteed rent? Heh, okay. How about guaranteed payment for damages? Maybe a $10,000 bond would help. Voucher holders don't understand it's not just about the rent: it's about whether or not a person is a good risk in general. Home wreckers can cause thousands of $ in damages, and Section 8 will not pay for that, and the tenant is broke (by definition, you have to be very low income to get a voucher). I do not rent to past evictees. I tried it several times and it has never worked out well. It takes a certain type of person to 1) Not pay and 2) force a landlord to drag them into court. Can't pay? Move out! You're going to be FORCED out eventually, and it shows a person simply doesn't care about stealing from someone when they stay put and make the landlord go to court to kick them out. That's a type of mentality that never goes away.

I own a condo here in Denver, there is not an HOA here that is going to allow the owners to just move illegal immigrants in. We even have limits on how many people can occupy a certain amount of space. If you have a two bedroom condo you can’t just keep pumping out a new person every 9 months they don’t allow it. The city is only going to pay landlords a max of $2000 a month. That won’t get you a studio here. No landlord is going to take that deal.

I have 1 rental where I allow pets & smokers, it has coin operated washer &dryer. I charge for storage unit and off street parking & these people pay all their money to keep the pets. I have 100.00 application fee. I dont care where they get money from or how much they have left at end of month. I don't do government payments.

My house in hightpoint by the airport was shot up with 40-50 bullets after a bunch of Hispanics moved in on the block...police cleary states my house was not the intended target.
