When he got kicked in the ass in "Barbershop: The Next Cut" after Angie (Regina Hall) got fed up with him boasting to the fellas about some girl he smashed, I swear I got Vietnam flashbacks of Brenda from "Scary Movie." The fact that she was just doodling on her phone during some down time and then randomly came up from behind him and aggressively said "Shut up" and kicked him and went back to her chair, floored me! Especially when she gave him the evil eye after that kick.

I’ve been to the Village Underground and the original Cellar within the past year. Both clubs are ran like a well oiled machine. As a spectator, you can’t just go in and sit for hours. They get you in and out fast and the lineups are tight and do not go over their time. I can see Deon being denied, it was the clubs loss though.

i mean, if the guy didn't have the authority to put him up, that's not on the guy. he has to work and make a living too, and i'm sure he's not gonna jeopardize his job for someone else. it sounds like Tony and Deon were unaware of the rules and in the moment it looked crazy to them. if that's how the venue operates then it is what it is. hopefully there's been some communication between the parties and everything has been hashed out since the incident.

I think what happened here is whats happening in business everywhere. We got rid of real talent scouts and we began letting stats and number alone dictate what makes money in art. That manager will always have a ceiling bc they weren't willing to take a chance. We're getting further away from real breakout talents bc short term social media numbers are more important than long term success. We will never find the next Chappelle, Kanye or Tom Brady(a 6th rd pick) bc all the ppl in charge are too scared to take a chance. They're too content with making their money back or keeping their job rather than understanding talent and finding the next big wave.

He was stressed and responded this way in the heat of the moment. Why would he assume the manager is a substitute? If it's true the manager was a sub, that's not the norm so yea maybe he was already slightly on edge about something else and when stuff doesn't go smoothly it's frustrating. I tend to respond like this in a knee-jerk way as well, always assuming the institution is messing with me on purpose I hope that's only true about 40% of the time max.
