I think if anything Wilder was over confident in the rematch. Wilder had taken confidence from knocking Fury down in the first fight and nearly out. Wilder had 2 spectacular knockout wins since then against Breazeale and Ortiz so his confidence was sky high. Fury had beat 2 nobodies in Tom Scwarz and Otto Wallin, and struggled against Wallin. Wilder just couldnt see Fury hurting him in the rematch hence the pillow fists jibe. He just thought he had to touch Fury and it would be over. Obviously he was in for a shock! The rematch has definitely taken something from Wilder as he knows old pillow fists can actually punch and isnt scared of him.
@davidbrandel13114 жыл бұрын
Rough Squad When the bell sounded to end the 12th round of their first fight, Fury had dominated the last minute, and basically that mindset carried over into the second fight. It was as if Fury finally figured Wilder out, even though it took him until the last half of the last round to do so. Fury knew he could hurt Wilder, as he staggered him close to the end of the round. Plus, Wilder pretty much checked out after the knockdown, when he did his victory strut and throat slashing gesture. When Fury defied all the odds and the fight resumed, Wilder was unable to check back in. His heart wasn’t in it, and he kind of got his ass kicked that last minute.

The thing that made this defeat even more crushing was the fact that Wilder was actually confident he would beat Fury otherwise he would have never taken the fight. The fact is Wilder just can't circle the ring anymore and throw that right hand. He has the ability to be elusive, but he's going to have to hover around I'd say 210-225. I think 231 is fine for someone his size, if your target is stationary and you're looking to end the fight early. Fury doesn't have to doesn't have to change much at all, but Wilder's going to have to move his body around and slip punches, which is something he could pull off with his limited moveset. I think the third fight is going to be more exciting than the first and second as we can see what new things he'll bring to the rematch.
@JohnnyB434 жыл бұрын
No, Fury didn't take anything from Wilder in the first fight. Wilder did however come in heavy for the second fight, and possibly that was a mistake. However, he was the opposite extreme for the first fight and came in really light. I'm not sure how planned that was. Anyway, I think that the defeat will actually get Wilder to finally realize that he needs to improving his boxing skills and not solely rely on his right hand. So I actually think that Wilder will improve in the rematch - whether that is improving his jab and committing to using it more, or that is that he will work more on being a mobile target I don't know. But we saw once already in the first Stiverne fight that Wilder can use different tactics and stick to a game plan. That was the first time that he went 12 rounds rather than winning by KO. He use his jab and mobility a lot and was disciplined. I don't believe all this crap online with one or two trainers saying that Wilder only needs to change one or two things and he beats Fury easily. But I do think that Wilder will do much better in the third fight. I think that he will overcome the mental obstacles and, if his team are able to train him properly, he will put in a better performance. cheers JB

!! Breaking News !! Deontay Wilder in hospital after trying on Canada Goose down coat. Deontay Wilder is reportedly "in fine spirit" and recovering well after suffering multiple injuries trying on a Canada Goose coat at the University Mall in his hometown of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The former WBC heavyweight champion of the world was enjoying some retail therapy following his crushing defeat to Britain's Tyson Fury in round 7 of their rematch in Las Vegas back in February. According to a source, Wilder liked the look of a hefty Canada Goose winter coat and proceeded to try it on, but the substantial weight of the goose down padding made the American fighter's legs unsteady, causing his knees to buckle and leaving him in a crumpled heap on the shop floor with a fractured shoulder and ligament damage in both of his knees. But the 'Bronze Bomber' assured fans in a statement that he is in 'fine spirit' and will be back in training as soon as possible, claiming he will 'rise like a phoenix from the ashes' to take another crack at that beautiful Canada Goose coat. ..

Did you, not see the look on Tyson Fury's face when Wilder asked him how many times he had nightmares about the 12th round?
@jamespemberton71954 жыл бұрын
I think it's a calzaghe Vs Lacey situation, I honestly think wilder knew going into that fight he wasn't gonna win that's why he came in heavy coz he had doubts in his mind and yeh it was that 12th round, I think it took something from him mentally and it continued into second fight, can't see number 3 being any different and then I think Wilders done, the fear in the heavyweight division is gone, people know how to beat him now, back him up and beat him down

I have watched him get beat up over a hundred times and it has yet to get old

Wilder only took the fight with Tyson Fury the first time because he thought Fury was out of shape, overweight, and had mental issues. Wilder thought it would be an easy win for him. Cherry picking gone wrong for Mr. Wilder

Hatman be good if you did a video about if Wilder utilises his jab in the rematch and how it may or may not help.

Wilder should try using his speed more and try to make he's hooks less wider so he can beat Tyson fury to the punch. And wilder need to up his stamina and be more of a busy fighter.
@kryptonate97474 жыл бұрын
Fury just has better timing than wilder. And wilder was scared so he didn't throw any punches and was hesitant and fury to notice ot that.

Sparring big guys to train for certain scenarios will be important for Wilder. In terms of mentality no one knows what Wilder thinks only Wilder does. George Foreman who had power himself is a good mentor for Wilder who himself came back to win world titles.

Hatman. In my opinion, the media and social media create the fear around Wilder, not Wilder himself. No one believed it when Fury got up, not just Wilder. Fury has no mental superiority over anyone other than he is a very good fighter. Remember, even u use to quote Wilder's saying of "most fighters need to be perfect for 12 rounds, I only need to be perfect for one second🤔". Was that having a mental hold on anyone. Many channels said it did. 🥊

wilder was crying at the end of the 12th round when he went back to the corner,he thought he had lost it,the look on his face when TF got up was priceless.

He's a very low IQ boxer.. He's afraid of most real opponents. Other than Fury he's avoided any real contenders.

@Bill Patrick Jones I can't believe you're talking up Brezeale and Stiverne. 🤣😂 We only allowed Brezeale for AJ because AJ was still very green and Brezeale was undefeated. Come on man 😅

@Bill Patrick Jones calm down mate, you might give yourself hernia. I'm sorry your king got beat. Actually I'm not sorry. I couldn't wait. 🤣

Wilder wont change his attitude, if a man ain't changed the way he thinks at his age (especially someone as emotional as Wilder) it's very unlikely he will for the rest of his life. I would be more impressed if he changed his attitude than I would if he wins the third fight, I give him 10% chance of winning the third

The problem is Wilder got into boxing late so he doesn't have the kind of muscle memory a fighter who started when they were still kids. All he really has is his power. If the person kind deal with his power then he's at a disadvantage

I just think one of these fighters looks in the mirror and sees himself, and the other looks in the mirror and sees the man he thinks he deserves to be. That’s why the real ones can take a loss and the pretenders can’t

I’d go as far as to say, Wilder was terrified when he stepped into the ring for #2
@jakeharrisboxing17634 жыл бұрын
Wilder never considers the possibility of losing. Fury while very confident, is grounded to the point where he knows anything can happen because it’s a boxing match.

Round 12 was straight up out of Rocky. Remember Apollo Creed's reaction to Rocky surviving that uppercut, if I remember correctly? Happened IRL.

On the first fight, Freddie Roach said, I'm (paraphrasing) " I believe Fury can knock out Windmill". And yes that's what happened in the 2nd fight

I totally get where you're coming from, but do you think it's possible that to a large extent he is putting on an act during the build up to the fights to build the hype? In his post fight interviews after both Fury fights he came across as much more down to Earth.

Next opponent: I only have to be perfect for 12 rounds. You have to be perfect for a whole 2 seconds.

Thats null and void now because Fury was eating his right all night and it didn't do anything 😆

I think Fury said that after that knock down in the 12th and he proceed to go after Wilder, he realized that Wilder can't fight going backwards.
