The more and more I research and train in various martial arts, the more and more I see how all of them are connected. It simply astounds me when people say that one art is better than the other. They're almost all identical when it comes to the basics! Keep training Deoz and always keep your glass read to be emptied and filled. Peace.

This is bad ass. I didn't know Muay Thai also had grappling, take downs and stick/sword fighting moves. I really thought it was just mainly kick boxing. Nice!!

Actually this is more like the ancient version unlike Muay Thai which is more safer version than this

Soldier Andrew; sorry your wrong. Muay Boran was the original martial art of Thailand. Muay Chaiya is a sub martial art that came from it. Muay Thai is a sport that came from multiple Thai martial arts.

Jordan Bouma Muay Boran is a word meaning ancient boxing which is used nowadays to distinguish the traditional Thai martial arts from the modern sport. Muay Thai Chaiya is one of the main regional styles similar to the different styles of Chinese wushu. fightland.vice.com/blog/chaiya-and-the-art-of-muay-thai

Muay Boran is not the original martial art, it is just an umbrella therm to speak about old styles, which are just regional or didactical variations. In old times it was just called Muay, or boxing, starting to be called Muay Thai when western boxing was introduced into the kingdom. I am not sure but beleive that was Atjarn Kade Siriyapaad, famous master of Chaiya, who started using the therm Boran in his writings about Muay Thai in the publication Thailand Skies.

Great Vid thank you! I found if you do some more research about other martial arts you will find them all have kina the same technique. All have grapping, stricking, defend.... Now a day they all being limited to make different sports. The only different is how each art train and which area they more focus in

Djrion2 I do too, I had to settle for Muay Thai and it’s kinda disappointing since there’s more rules and no ground fighting and more importantly no spiritual aspect to it
@Gieszkanne5 жыл бұрын
@@mikehughes17 The techniques in regular Muay Thai are also quite different. Whole move guard kicks etc.

in Sumatran silek{OLD SILAT} they say that five different countries fighting systems were made into one,siam kuciang{cat},Cambodian tiger,related to bokator,indian,related to kalari payattu,persian,gulat,and greek related to pankration ,bought over to india by alexanders soldiers, when I see related styles like muay chaiya etc I see many of the tecniks of the silat world-very good tecniks shown here ,have done some muay thai but would prefer this,like the way you train with sticks and swords,very practical-DE MAR

true. but your not always going to be attacked by three guys. what if a bigger man jumps you and sits on your chest? wrestling and grappling are great when mixed with muay thai or boran . why limit your skills? be open to all

I believe the original reference was Sambo, which DOES focus on standup. Still, Judo is only useful for making somebody hit the ground, not making them stay there. Many Jiu Jitsu techniques (knee on belly, anyone?) allow you to stand quickly and resume combat with other opponents. Even from the supine position, it's easy to keep from getting hit until you perform a sweep, takedown, or just vertical lift (stand from base). It's taught as part of MCMAP and MACP for a reason.

CHaiya is called the Durian style, because of its defence. Durian is a fruit in South East Asia, covered in spikes so it is very hard to grab

Burmese and Thai martial arts are quite similar. This looks very much like Bando, Naban and Lethwei. I guess all the wars between them formed both countries styles.
@Haywood-Jablomie3 ай бұрын
They are essentially sister countries that hate each other. lol

Judo came from Japanese JiuJitsu when practicing martial arts was banned. Judoka don't stay on the ground, because with multiple people, you will die. Try using a leg lock to break an opponents leg with 3 other guys kicking you in the face when your down. Thats why Judo is about the points, and the stand up game is way more important.

@VietzRus It also depends upon the situation and the audience they are designed for. I am not going to teach boxing to a woman who just wants to save her life and survive the encounter. If she were to close-fist hit a man in the mouth, she is going to sprain her wrist and most likely break her hand. That being said, the comparisons between martial arts is a rock-paper-scissor scheme. They all contain valuable information, it's all relative to the desired use and context.
@Ronnock13 жыл бұрын
@VietzRus You said it has to do with "the way they train," well, that would also apply to people who just want to learn self-defense combatives. I was more or less agreeing with you.
@jack91x12 жыл бұрын
lmao. I'd have to agree with you. Dropping your entire body gives you so much leverage, you literally have to let go of the limb when you spar or the torque will snap through connective tissue like a hacksaw. There's a reason why they don't let beginners attack the legs. Same thing in BJJ- white belts aren't allowed to do kneebars or even toe-locks because of the potential to cripple somebody. They're just slower and more methodical; generally more tech and less power (exceptions do exist).

lol muay boran muay boran muay boran... this is a profound yet childish word overused by so many people, it simply means ancient muay thai, that is it, nothing more. Ok, if you use this word, i will ask you, what do you mean by ancient? how long ago approximately or exactly? which part of history of muay thai? what is the name of specific school or schools that are included and being viewed as ancient in what timeline during thai history, lmao? then you think about it for some time and finally answered, well I think Muay Thai Chaiya is one of them, that can be called ancient muay thai, thus translated into thai ad muay boran. See? that's the simple logic right there
