It's been a while, as usual. Due to many things including school, exams, administrative things, and life roadblocks in general, I'm out of the loop regarding music and the community. Also, I graduated [with highest honors ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)]

Also, re-uploaded Departures with better audio quality now!
I've revised a few things in the sheets. So consider this an updated version of Departures. And as expected, it's always a challenge to play through t̶h̶e̶ ̶s̶o̶n̶g̶ my arrangements as flawlessly as possible.
You may have also noticed some things. 1) The plastic wrap is temporarily gone, since we've decided to replace the plastic wrap today after I finish recording. 2) I'm not in formal dress...the SoCal heat is melting me.

I need some of that SoCal heat. Australia's winters are brutal, it got me sick this past week. Congrats on graduating and good luck for your doctorate! The clarity of the audio is much better with the wrap off the piano. The tones really shine through and doesn't sound as flat as previously. Arrangement is god tier as usual. Great job man!

Thanks, and uhh which part of Australia are you from? Though to be fair, I also didn't "master" the audio track for the previous Departures upload. Here, I mastered the audio without the plastic wrap. So it's harder to say whether really if the plastic wrap is a bigger nemesis to audio quality than not mastering/editing/compressing/EQing/etc. the track at all.

Thanks! Well, it's a huge pain to wrap and unwrap the piano. The plastic wrap is there to protect the piano from dust, humidity, etc. It just happened that we were going to rewrap it today/tomorrow, so I took advantage of that and tried to record something.

Abundant practice. If it's tough, slow down. There's usually a most important line --- emphasize that one over the others.

Ha, thanks for your kind words! I think our arrangements both have their good points. I took more artistic liberties on mine because I could say there's a real musical connection between My Dearest and Departures: the syncopated motif between the tonic (first note of the key) and supertonic (second note of the key).

I have never been more amazed. Seeing that you had 840 subscribers I was expecting a normal cover. But you surprised me, and I am still wondering why you don't have more subscribers, you deserve 10 times more honestly. I look up to Animenz, and I heard many of his covers, but I've never thought that I'd see someone who I look up to as much as Animenz, it's such an honor to have amazing pianists like you two in the anime pianist community. Thanks for the kind words. I'm happy to have the privilege of being here and being part of this community with all its wonderful support. You'll see more covers as soon as I fully recover from an injury. If I get enough support/upvotes/likes/requests to release a TV size of the sheet music for Orange from Your Lie in April, maybe there'll be surprises... For Discord though, I don't spend much time using the computer these days due to standard exam prep, work/volunteer (although this has recently become 'physical recovery'.) But now I wonder how many people who play Halo PC/CE use Discord...(I used to play Halo CE).

Well, I had already arranged a rough version back in Jan. I hadn't graduated yet back then, so I only practiced on weekends. The first version was uploaded in Feb. With the updated arrangement, I didn't have to practice much because of muscle memory for the parts that were kept the same. A pianist's muscle memory is pretty astonishing actually. ;)

It didn't sound that way to me while I was playing. It doesn't help that I"m still new to mastering audio and listening, so if you tell me where the bass overpowers the rest, I might be able to develop my listening skills.
