This is electronic music history.... and it's a part of my history. I saw the gig in a disco in Stuttgart/Germany on 07.12.1982 (my 18th BD :-)), the guys playing in front of 90 or 100 people.

Ha bigger in England, not anymore! bigger all over the world now, mostly forgotten in England! From English fan. Yes there are some fans here (ok many, just not as many as outside UK) Still can't believe one of the UK's biggest and most influential bands is virtually ignored here. 🙄
@DeiNostri4 жыл бұрын
Same goes for a lot of acts. Swedish cult punk act Anticimex is kindof big outside of sweden and scandinavia than in sweden, while Imperiet and Ebba Grön that is virtually unknown outside of Scandinavia is huge influences on the music scene here. As a electronic musician that loves spending time in reharshal places rather than doing the laptop or dj-thing, I can´t deny the importance that bands such as Depeche Mode had on the modern electronic music scene. I would go to a Depeche Mode, Ladytron or Emmon gig any day over a club music project, since there is allways a risk of something distorting a bit too much, someone playing the wrong note or a instrument going bonkers.
@deydododontdedoh.56724 жыл бұрын
@@DeiNostri indeed a lot of other good bands don't get the recognition they deserve but when it's your home country whichever country it is a shame. Bands that have a following should at least be recognised by there own country. Also some great bands not known In The UK which is our loss, some great music out there if we explore a bit. 🙂
@DeiNostri4 жыл бұрын
@@deydododontdedoh.5672 Yeah, but unless you are super talented and make the right type of mainstream music for the time you live in just to entertain people it is very hard to become sucessful as a musician. The oddballs that make music for the love of it in a garage or a homestudio is my cup of tea. I was even off on the dj futerepop synth pop live setups back in 1999 (VNV Nation is okay live, even though the hard goths hate them). Two-three synth players and backing tracks or a drummer/drum machine will allways be my cup of tea. It is not hip anymore, but the underground scene for this belongs to nerds like me. We have something in common and recognise each other all over the world :) Im a reharshal dude, with a reharshal place so to speak. Most bigger synth pop, ebm and goth bands in sweden have a bigger following in germany and poland.

@@DeiNostri yeah understand like DM are big in Germany compared to UK, look at David Bowie, he went to Berlin for the scene and atmosphere I guess. I'm eclectic music tastes, not a hard metal head myself more synth orientated, mainstream rock, Electronic, dance, Front 242 (metal for synth lovers??) , Yello, DM, Onuka ,Kerli, classical, cheesy pop even! etc,etc, etc ha-ha. most styles offer something. I went to see Nothing but theives a few years ago near me in Liverpool UK before they started making it and it was £6 a ticket with two other bands on before them in a small venue (Studio 2) had a nice chat with lead (Connor) afterwards in the bar with rest of lads, real down to earth and nice bunch of lads. 👍 Tend to find good gig value from bands starting out and as you say those doing it for the love of just making music and performing etc. Yeah I can enjoy some minimal Kling Klang with synths, guess it's how Kraftwork started out. I have a couple of cheap synths but can't play a note, just like making silly noises ha, I must learn to play some day! . Btw, this is a local band near me and lead singer is a friend...even for a non metal head like me I really enjoy this. ... kzbin.info/www/bejne/oqa2YnyZnL-UmsU

I hope Alan still owns that JP8. I'm SURE Martin still owns that PPG Wave 2 although I doubt he plays it anymore. It is amazing how Leave In Silence immediately turns a corner from the first album. Depeche moved ahead almost instantly after the unpleasantness.
