Love, love Depeche Mode and the unmistakable voive of Dave Gahan. He is another buttery voice that sends me to another place. This is a great choice Freddie. Their music is 80's but also timeless. It sounds as fresh today as it did back then. Let's hope they continue to give us music for many years to come. Loving your reaction, Hap, as it is evident that you are getting the Depeche Mode messaging. 🎉😊❤

Old memories surface. About 30 years ago. There was a big Depeche Mode club in Hungary, in Petőfi - Csarnok. He had an event once a month. In its heyday, 1,500 to 1,700 young Mode fans went there. A friend of mine did the technical service for the club. But a few times he had other duties and I took over his work. One of the tasks, even before the opening, was to load storages for slide projectors. At a height of 8 meters, there was a small surface suspended from above, with 4 slide projectors on it. The circual storages are full of Depeche Mode pictures. I reached the projectors from a tall wobbly ladder, and I was very scared. My other task is the technical assembly of the disco desk and controlling the strength of the outgoing signal during the show. If it had been up to the club managers, they would have increased the volume, but that would not have been good for the young people's ears or the sound technology. I was the bad guy who wouldn't let him turn up the volume any further. I loved and knew Depeche Mode's music well. And that brought luck. Several presenters replaced each other. On one occasion, one of them hurried away from the counter saying that the replacement was coming soon. But due to some misunderstanding, another presenter did not come. I continued to run the club that evening. I was very proud of myself afterwards. Machine translation. I hope it's good.

Awesome throwback to my youth, great memories and yes, you’ve already reacted to a live version which was fantastic as well. While it's obvious that the song is from the synthesizer era, it doesn't sound dated at all. It's timeless. Loved your enthusiastic reaction HAP🤩 and I like the play on words in the comments 😜🙋🏻♀️.

Depeche Mode is my 2nd favorite band(only Queen ranks higher). This is the song that introduced me to the group in 1990, from seeing this video in heavy rotation on MTV. But, oddly enough, I wouldn't really become a fan of the group for nearly 10 years, when a friend of mine introduced me to their broader catalog of songs. Within a few months in 1999, they had cemented their place at #2 in my ears & heart. This song still ranks near the top of not only my favorite Depeche Mode songs, but also of my favorite songs of all-time time. It's groovy, darkly soothing, and evokes an introspective vibe of questioning the meaning of the lyrics, and pondering the purpose of communication in our existence🤔 Awesome reaction Hap, as always👍 There will be more Depeche Mode to come😉

Depeche Mode is my best friends favorite band. Can't say I've heard more than a few songs of theirs (she lives halfway across the country from me so not like we're listening to music together) With that said I did enjoy the silence 😉

Great reaction! This was the second single from the amazing album "Violator", released in 1990. I reckon you would enjoy another Depeche Mode song, "Never Let Me Down Again". Either the music video from 1987 or the "101" live version from 1988. Cheers!
