Thank you! I tried this today and it came out beautiful! I used long banana clips to separate the bottom once I was done with each layer so I wouldn’t get the top and bottom tangles together. I love the results. 😍❤️

@@TheCurlStory no because I had an allergic reaction to it. 🥲. I’ve stopped using it. I used LA looks extreme sport and it came out great.

@@wanda18221 Oh no! I’m so sorry to hear that. I’ve used used the LA Looks gel before I started my curly hair journey and it always gave me great hold. If it ever makes your hair feel dried out, or really if any gel does that, you can try using a little bit of a leave-in conditioner under it 💦 Wishing you a beautiful weekend!

I love the Giovanni line, especially the gel. I’ve never used this glazing technique where you take a section and rub the gel down the strands, I’ve always used it just to scrunch in after my cream styled. I can see it’ll help my back and underside have more curl. I’ll have to try this today.

Hi Minna, Yes, scrunching products in is a very popular method. Ever since I tried smoothing the gel instead however, I’ve had less frizz overall. It’s similar to what a brush would do, so I will try brush styling soon too. I can’t wait to hear how this method works for you!

I had a nice bit of curl on the longest sections in the back, so I’d say it was successful. Of course not as curly as yours, that area is hard for me to get full spirals underneath in the back.

Great tutorial! I will try it out! Hi to all curls girls out there! I also struggle with the crown area as well as second, third day hair...my hair is fine and it looses shape very fast, it is a bit weird, but my curls stay while in the same time they look misshaped...and who else also get itchy sclap after day one?

Welcome! So glad you’re here Eva! I can’t wait to hear how this technique works for you. If your scalp is itching after day 1, it could very well be a reaction to the products you are using. That always happens to me with Shea Moisture products, unfortunately. Try switching up your shampoo & conditioner to see if that helps after a couple of wash days. 💦

I’m so happy I found your Channel! I have never seen any KZbinr with my SAME curls ! Your techniques have helped me sooo much! The only question I have is. How can I get larger, plumper curl clumps with upward styling ? When I finger coil they look too “coily, Shirley temple-ish“ lol I much prefer the looser curl .. any tips help . Thank you!

Hi! I’m so happy you’re here too! That’s a great question. There are more techniques that will create different results. Do, I’ll keep making more videos! 😄 I can make larger clumps with my hair when it’s wet (slow drip). You can just rake or brush in your products, then just scrunch & hold for a few seconds to encourage the curl formation. I hope that helps you too! 🌺

Hi! Thank you so much ♥️ Wow, washing your hair twice a day sounds like a lot of work to do! 😅 How often you wash your hair really depends on your needs, your lifestyle, the comfort of your scalp. Curls can thrive with daily washing and you can try using different shampoos if you’d like, such as a gentle shampoo for daily washes and a more cleansing shampoo weekly, or as needed. Refreshing however, can be more of an aesthetic choice. Some friends here refresh everyday, others not at all. I tend to do a quick 5min refresh for my curls a few days a week. I hope this helps!♥️

Another great video. I will have to try the foam like you did on the crown and for dry refresh. I always find foam/ mousse very drying, but never tried the Giovanni foam. I will give it a try. Question for you: what is your sleeping method to protect your curls? My hair is a bit shorter than yours, but i never have a good day 2 without a water refresh... 🥺

Thank you! Yes, I always use a foam on top of some other product. I do have a video for my night routine too - You can find it in my Curly Hair Routines Playlist! No problem if you need to use water with your refresh! I have a damp refresh routine too (See the Refresh Playlist). We all have different hair textures and climates. Knowing your hair is the best part!

how do you determine which direction to finger coil your hair? My hair goes in so many different directions it's frustrating!!

Try giving the curl a little scrunch first. Then, you’re likely to see which way the curl wants to go. The curls around my face curl towards my face - so different directions on each side of my face. It gets easier to style once you figure out your pattern. I hope this helps!

Yes! The order makes a difference and the application too (rake/brush or scrunch). Try & discover how it works for your hair. I prefer to evenly distribute the gel first for less frizz. I’ll need to video my comparison 🤓 Thank you!

I’ve had a hard time finding a great haircut for curly hair. My hairdresser is amazing and my hair grows with her techniques but my hair is fuller at top & flat at the bottom it looks funny

Yes, it can be a challenge. My hair is also more wavy on the bottom, so it doesn’t match the curls on top. I often need to trim the bottom layer shorter so that the stringy looking ends don’t show. Dry cuts can help to adjust the shaping too. We might just all need custom cuts! ✂️
