It's all they do. Even to last week the secretary of foreign affairs Lavrov when he said that Ukraine started to attack Russia and they are just defending. But don't worry, the sane part of the world population (and countries reactions and support) is that we know how Putin operates. If he says it's night, it's day. Living in the Netherlands myself, in 2014 a rocket was launched to take down flight MH17. Of the ~300 people, ~200 were Dutch, so it had a massive impact here. Relatives have been in the Dutch news ever since, at least twice a year I hear one of them speak when new court/arrests/charges etc development comes around, they speak in talk shows and the one thing they want is Putin to admit it. Admit his guilt and say it was indeed an accident, but during a war he started and armed. They simply don't care for the three or four people operating that system or the guy ordering to shoot it. It's been clear it wasn't intended to take down a civilian airplane but they had info it was a Ukrainian cargo jet for the army. When it was shot down, Putin immediately had satellite images falsified showing Ukrainian fighter jets. The only radar images that had them on it. No jets on any satellite images of all surrounding countries, China, US, Australia or any other country. Only the Russian one! F Putin. His time will come. He won't die naturally, but he's cowardly to poison himself with one that doesn't hurt him, he' looks and acts like a baby.

Shoigu noted “increased intelligence activities against the interests of the Russian Federation” and “non-compliance with the restricted flight zone” declared by Moscow after its campaign in Ukraine had led to the incident, the ministry said. It only makes sense for the Poles to swap out their old Soviet era jets for ones that are an integral part of the rest of NATO, the soone the better. And, giving the Migs to Ukraine makes a lot of sense. It can hardly be seen as escalation when the Russians are buying Iranian drones, and, looking to the Chinese and North Korea. As the Ukrainains get the old Migs, we can be training their pilots in the F16's, so that when we can transition them to them, they will be ready. This does not need to happen in the US, it can take place in Europe. We have to accept that we are facing another long conflict, and, the sooner we face that fact, by increasing our own production of material, the better. The best way to make Putin to stop, is to make clear that the NATO, and, the EU are prepared to spend him into the ground. The long term effects of the sanctions will also help to force him to stop his aggression.

6:09 It might be relevant to recall the origin of the phrase "Pyrrhic Victory". After *winning* a battle, but at a staggering cost, Pyrrhus is said to have said, "Another such victory and we are lost." Even if Russia wins Bakhmut (which, as of late March '23, is looking less likely each day), it will have come at such a high cost that even this "victory" will really be a loss. They were not dumping fuel to blind the sensors, they were dumping fuel to overload the turbine air intake and cause a surge which damaged the engine or an engine fire. If you suddenly increase the fuel supply to a car engine by say using a Nitro mix, it causes the engines to generate too much power and damage them. The Russians were hoping that the air-intake on the drone would be swamped with fuel causing a similar overload that would set light to the turbine. The second jet to pass did so after the drone had changed course and his approach was wrong. He pulled G to try and correct his path, but he was too close and the bottom of the jet clipped the propellers on the drone. The sudden impact interrupted the satellite connection which caused cameras to show the balance signal. With one of the props now bent, there was massive imbalance on the engine and probably damage on the control surfaces too. The drone controllers then deleted the software on the drone to avoid it being recovered by the Russians. You can see the coastline of Crimea in one of the clips. This was taken close to the southern end of Russia's airspace but the Americans would have flown it within international airspace with their GPS systems.

I'm frustrated and angry that everyone is ignoring the elephant in the room. The consistent statements are that this drone intercept went on for 40mins, fuel was dumped on the drone and the Russians were flying in front igniting the afterburners. There is only ONE intention here and that is to IGNITE the dumped fuel on or near the Drone. Of course most of it will have evaporated but they still had intention to destroy the Drone. The USA must repeat these sorties in International Airspace AND the drones must be armed with Air to Air missiles to deter any further interference. NATO must push back strongly

Bit late for that, mate. As it stands right now we could fight a war of the intensity level of Ukriane for about 3 days before we ran out of everything. The military has been so criminally run down over the last thirty years as to be next to useless. And this isn't just us, the whole of NATO is the same. Ukraine is in trouble because the NATO countries supplying them have pretty much exhausted their stocks and are struggling to replace them. Well, you wouldnt get the info from the western press but a few facts: after the debacle of the first invasion the Russians have now a full on war machine economy producing all the arms the army needs. They are behaving tactically and are taking out Ukraine army positions w artillary. Mainly the Wagner group is involved in front line combat as the russians try to avoid face to face combat. The Ukrainians give away their positions by shooting at frontline movements then are taken out by artillary of which there is no shortage. The Ukrainians have about 2000 soldiers in Bakhmut and another 5000 in the area and some tank batallions.Their supply lines have been cut, they are short of ammo and contracting new untrained recruits to fight and die. Roughly 250 a day. It is exactly the opposite of what this channel is saying. Do some research.I wish it were different but Ukraine is bleeding out. If they dig in and defend they are getting shelled, if they go on a counter attack they will die faster. A classic dilemma. Only bad options.

Russia broke this and we should have ended Putin's kleptocracy in 2014. We should dig deep and have been supplying Europe gas and made sure Russia has no outlet (years before can send to China.) Letting Russia crumble as shut off in all ways would have avoided this and allowed the Russian people to end the Kleptocracy and rebuild a new Russia even if the hardship would have been devastating over the last 7 years we allowed this criminal petroleum cartel to continue, but free them to do whatever they come up with and would be no war now. Compare this with the visit Of Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan ,the Chinese warned but did not intercept the Aircraft even though it violated their airspace. The Russians declared international airspace as a no fly zone and took action when anyone tries to use it , if that is not a demonstration of power what is? Shoigu noted “increased intelligence activities against the interests of the Russian Federation” and “non-compliance with the restricted flight zone” declared by Moscow after its campaign in Ukraine had led to the incident, the ministry said. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told reporters earlier that Russia declared certain areas of the Black Sea off-limits to any aerial traffic during the Ukraine conflict and suggested the US was trying to provoke an escalation through the surveillance flights.

I don't think that dumping fuel on a drone would blind sensors, except perhaps momentarily. The more likely reason for dumping fuel is to stall the engine by making its fuel:air ratio too rich.

It only makes good sense that these units be modded: This form of proximal “tampering” with U.S. surveillance drones will henceforth result in internally initiated self destruct to include any ordinance loadout sufficient to fully protect all onboard technologies from attempted air piracy. It is strongly recommended that all aircraft maintain a minimum envelope of 100 meters from all U.S. observation platforms in flight over U.S., Allied, and international waters.

I'm just wondering if we can deplete nations stockpiles of weapons until they can't fight at all. It seems as if this is a resource war, and if russia remains locked down at one point in geography, NATO can depete their weapons, as well as the currency they would use to buy more. According to what I read with others, Russia has limited males in the 20-40 age group, and I think it was 1/3 left the country. At one point the russians themselves will realize the futility of this war, and with added sanctions probably miss the largess of supply lines for finished goods. Russians are smart, and they have access to the web, and they are of an age to know better. A peaceful transition of power would be a nice way to solve this problem. I know, glass half full.

The sanctions against Russia are kicking in big time. Within a year Russia may be out of foreign currency reserves. This means that Russia will find it difficult to buy modern military weapons from other countries. Of course, Russia could do trades with other countries, but Russia's manufacturing base has been hit hard by sanctions. Also Russia could sell some of its assets to obtain foreign currency, but since the Russian economy is collapsing, only a few would be interested in buying Russian assets. The Russian economy is diving towards the 14th century. And no modern military can long endure if it depends on a Medieval economy. I have heard that Russia is raiding its museums for obsolete weapons. Many Russians will probably die unnecessarily in the next year since Putin does not seem to have a reverse gear and since he seems to have a firm hold on power. When the enough Russian corpses are sent home and enough Russian troops are never heard from again then Russians will know what is really happening. This could lead to change that will end the war.

They call it the Cauldron and the meatgrinder. Pincer movement, cutting Ukrainian supply lines then shelling them to pieces. Why waste troops in face to face combat w entrenched enemy positions? The russians do the smart thing. Every day multiple ukrainian positions are taken out. Roughly 250 dead a day. The slow squeeze. The idea that Russians are dying in great numbers is simply propaganda. It is the Ukrainians who are bleeding out. Check other, less biased channels.
