As a bit of an environmentalist, all this wasted packaging makes me sad. I really hope that cosmetic companies are seeing these videos and start offering to sell the pans only! That would make my heart sing 😍

Great video! I almost bought this but ended up getting a 5 dollar candle warmer at Micheal’s and that works. Even if the product I am depotting doesn’t fit on the plate itself, just placing it on top was enough to warm the glue so I could easily pop the pan out. Just another option for those of us who don’t have the 60+ dollars for the zpotter. :)

I just got my Z Potter! Glad to watch this for helpful tips before I go to town on my palettes. I'm just a makeup enthusiast, but I found I am starting to duplicate shades so it is worth the investment. I also am using palettes as a whole less and less, so I'll be looking forward to making my own. Glad to have found your channel and Instagram!

This is SO helpful, THANK YOU!! Having the information on how an induction hotplate actually works, testing the pans with a magnet, and having a stainless steel plate were all things no other depotting video has talked about. I bought an induction hotplate a few weeks ago but have yet to bust it out because I'm still researching what to actually do, now I can proceed with absolute confidence. Once again, thank you! 😘

Diana de Strahm just buy a induction cooktop then. Far less expensive (between $35-$50 depending on where you buy it).
@zpalette5 жыл бұрын
@@zadidoll There's a misconception out there that a regular induction cooktop could de-pot eyeshadows and other makeup. This is not true because they are meant to work with heavier pots and pans that are minimum 5" in diameter. We've designed the Z Potter to work with makeup, including eyeshadows as small as 1" diameter.

Hi Angie, can you possibly do a video talking about the comparison between Traditional, HD, and Airbrush makeup?
@AngieDiB5 жыл бұрын
I don’t airbrush and haven’t for about 15 years so It’s not something I’m an expert in - and now a days you should be proceeding as if all your work will be seen in high definition (4K and higher now) so skin tone must be matched perfectly, makeup must be blended and should look like a second skin.

Hi Angie, I really respect your opinions and suggestions. I am starting out as a makeup artist and buying professional foundation right now is not possible for me because it doesnt fit my budget and as of now I have no client base. Could you suggest any other brand that works great on clients and is not very expensive and boujee? I will eventually invest in better products but for now I gotta stick to my budget. Thank you!
@AngieDiB5 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure what your definition of ‘boujee’ would be when it comes to foundations but I really do believe that you need to start with pro quality foundations in your kit and I recommend the brands I carry. It’s not in your best interest to cut corners with foundation when you are first building your kit. Your initial kit will be quite the expense and that is just the name of the game. Like any business there is an initial investment. You need to learn with the appropriate products for the job. You don’t need to buy every shade in every type of foundation, you just need a few to start out so you can learn to mix and adjust foundations.

I am so ocd that this is very therapeutic for me. But then I spend a lot of time laying them on the z pallete trying to color coordinate them. I’m actually depotting as I watch this.
@UriskOfTheFae5 жыл бұрын
I've been considering depotting most of my small palettes in order to store like shades together. The process of depotting definitely scares me, I've only done it once before with a bunch of cheap shadows I hated, and it was a mess. I didn't consider melting the glue, oops. Depotting is rare enough for me that I couldn't justify getting an induction device just for that, buuuuut I was thinking of maybe laying my palletes upside down and hitting the backs veeerrryyyy carefully with a heat gun. I'm hoping pans would come out on their own. Would be nice not to have to dig, since I've got some palettes with tiny pans set in deep, hard plastic wells, and I'm positive I'd end up breaking a lot if I did go prying.

Thank you for the video! I have so many pallets and need to depot ASAP. I have done so to a few and noticed that there were many pans that are not magnetic. Did you have that issue with any of your pallets? If so, did you buy the magnet pieces separately to stick on to the pans ?
@AngieDiB5 жыл бұрын
Yup you can just buy the stickers - most MAC pans won’t work so you can just pop a metal sticker on the bottom and that should be fine! Everything else for me was fine!
