Wow. I just watched the couple’s therapist testimony and as a therapist (not couples), I’m shocked by her assessment of their relationship based on her own statements from her notes. She testifies that there was “mutual abuse” but she also states more than once that every allegation of physical abuse from Johnny was reported by Amber without Johnny present- but she never testifies she asked Johnny about it- also we know if she had he would adamantly deny it. It blew my mind that she just took Amber at her word and would have never discussed it with Johnny. She also says that in a session with the couple, Johnny brings up how Amber punched him in the face and that Amber did not deny it, but she changed the subject and went off on a tangent and Johnny was not going to say anything more than that. I’m sorry what? Is she actually a therapist? Her job would be to redirect the conversation to discuss Johnny’s statement. The therapist said Johnny couldn’t find his voice in the relationship- so she knew it was one of their problems that Amber bulldozed him- and then the therapist enabled it in their session. That’s a very common tactic to avoid taking responsibility is to distract- and I’m really really taken aback the therapist wasn’t able to see this. Amber didn’t want to let him talk bc if he was allowed to share his feelings and experiences then the spotlight would be on her and she didn’t want to take accountability. This would be a nightmare scenario for most therapists- enabling abuse by siding with the abuser. She probably should have seen too that they weren’t going to work, it was unethical for this therapist to continue working with them.

It's not every day when a person can say this video right here was the first video to help me function as a human. My mom had passed away in March and by this time I was not handling it very well. I would literally go days without getting out of bed. Not realizing I hadn't had anything to eat for days. Until I was physically ill and it would dawn on me that I hadn't had food for the week yet. This video and the whole trial gave me a schedule. I'd wake up at a certain time, get out of bed and eat lunch when we had breaks. I had similar type of depression when I was younger but I was consumed with a lot of self-harm thoughts and planning. I haven't had self harm thoughts or planning since my very early twenties. So in this way this depression was different because I was just consumed with the grief. I was so depressed I didn't even realize I was depressed. I'm so grateful for lawtube because I really don't know how I would have gotten out of it without them.

The thing that strikes me is the level of professionalism that comes from Johnny Depps team. The fact that in comparison to those who are backing Amber, they seem to be very straightforward, professional, honest, even a little dull (I’m not going to lie, I was expecting a few more sketchy individuals, it’s made me see a whole other side to Johnny). Where as, the vibe I get from Ambers backers is not wholey honest.

She claimed to have covered bruises, cuts/scratches, black eyes & a self-diagnosed broken nose with simply tinted moisturizer & was able to bring down the swelling that such a beating would cause with a few ice cubes. I have seen black-eye injuries where the whites of the eye turn completely red from blood vessels bursting, but not her. 🤔 For someone to claim to have suffered such horrific beatings with multiple injuries to her face, but everything is healed to perfection nearly overnight….. she should be studied & analyzed. The rest of us were so sick of plaintiff's attorney we refused. I feel the same way about Elaine... she is making it easier for jury to rule against her client.

Therapist said Amber came to her and asked if she reported abuse first would she have the upper hand for divorce, something to that extent.

The therapist can't testify whether abuse occurred on both sides as she was not there. Therapists are also not police and cannot comment on whether crimes have occurred. They can only comment on what they have witnessed in person or what clients have *reported* to them. Eg. If both parties accused the other of abuse, the therapist may have operated on the assumption that the abuse was mutual, or she may have been biased against men (assuming women cannot be the primary aggressor).

@@MsSilverTulip I watched the whole testimony. According to the therapist, Amber told her that she was physically abusive and JD was physically abusive. There was no testimony about whether JD claimed/confessed abuse, so I'm assuming he didnt. If someone says they were themselve abusive, I'm going to believe them. My impression is that both sides are psychologically pretty toxic, but it doesn't seem like JD was physically abusive.

@@truecrimenwine489 there’s no such thing as mutual abuse. If AH abused JD and he lashed out-he is either reacting or defending himself. If it were a man hitting a woman and the woman hit him back-would that be abuse? No, we would say that is a victim fighting back in self defense. After the whole of the trial, I can't help but wonder what was Bredehoff's deal. From beginning to end she struck me as completely unprofessional, arguing court procedure, defying orders to avoid certain topics, misconstruing anything from evidence to legal facts such as the nature of the UK trial, etc. Even after the trial she went out to describe evidence which did not exist and lay accusations against the judge, jury and JD's lawyers. How is this woman allowed to work when she can't even respect the rules of her profession?

I was around an abusive narcissist for years who abused me. I guess we have different perspectives. Everything about Johnny reads as a narcissist to me but I’m also not a licensed psychologist so I can’t make that call, his weird stuff in the stand was truly baffling, he goes from Euro to Southern Fried boy to Midlife Crisis within minutes… I can only imagine living with that, but I can also see borderline personality qualities in Amber. Neither of these people seem pleasant or likable at all, but Johnny is very charming and entertaining… which is a red flag to someone like me. I believe the abuse was mutual until Johnny took it too far and Amber started to genuinely fear for her life and wanted to end the marriage, Johnny had her sign an NDA and she signed it…. and then she wrote that op-Ed…. and here we are. I don’t think it’s a black and white situation, most cases involving abuse never are.

A narcissist could very possibly keep their cool and walk away knowing that it triggers their partner to physically abuse the m so they get sympathy and the law on their side... this isn't about personality traits it's to determine if ABs story of physical abuse was true or not and therefore defamatory or not.

1. Everyone knew Pirates 5 was delayed, we can read. 2. Depp has been a well known functioning alcoholic. He is one if the Brat Pack that didn't clean up, but made it work. He MAY be more sober today then he was before, but I don't think he's been sober. That doesn't mean he's not a brilliant man who works hard. 3. Depp doesn't have a history of abuse unless it's REALLY well hidden, this relationship brought that out and unfortunately, created a horribly toxic place for both. Did she start it? Can't say, wasn't there, but I've known of Depp since the 80's and vaugly followed him that long - this isn't his "typical" behavior, so if he DID start it, it's extremely out of character and more evidence it's THIS relationship. I mean, not even Ms. Rider has a bad thing to say and their relationship was in theore tremulous days.

JD uses music in an earpiece -- as a novelist, I choose a "soundtrack" for the historical novel I'm working on. A novel with a host of Scottish immigrants, I listened to the Celtic Album from the City of Prague Philharmonic. For a novel set n the early 1900s coal country, it is waltz music, because that's when waltzing came into vogue I find it interesting that actors do the same.

@melissa zabower I do the same thing! Especially if I'm working on an intense scene that I really want to nail down, I play music that I feel matches the mood. Kenny's testament not only refuted the claims that Johnny was too drunk to work effectively, but reinforced how dedicted he was to his craft despite the turmoil in his personal life: a consummate professional.

One other thing: I have come to learn that trials are games of strategy not about who is telling the truth (although that’s what we WANT to believe…that truth reigns in a trial and often it DOES). The whole game is performance in front of the judge and jury who don’t do any work on finding out facts-they await the attorneys to scurry around to tell the best story. And sometimes the story is just a story…but player one (trial attorney) was a better game player than player two (the other trial attorney). And that’s it. Whomever plays the game better is who wins regardless of ultimate truth. It’s about who played the better game. Is this fucked up thinking? It certainly has reduced my OUTRAGE at the judge and jury for not seeing through bullshit because they have to follow the rules of the game.

Poor Mr Wyatt, he's a sound tech! How is he supposed to know about high-level production and budgeting questions? And asking how Disney was impacted??! Right, like Disney's going to tell all their private financial business to random low-level film crew. But thanks for establishing that nothing written in what you say are Johnny Depp's contracts are things that can be taken as having happened, Elaine. Like the transportation and accommodation items that never actually came into play on the contract you say is for a film that was shot locally. So, the entire paperwork you're using to make your arguments is irrelevant. Well done. 🤣

I worked with one of my abusers (yeah, I've had more than one, it's pretty sad) & he became mad @ me & was going about our building telling nearly everyone he could get to listen all sorts of terrible things about me (s*xual deviancy & that I was su*cidal & stuff). Maybe 4 different people came over to tell me what he'd told them (& how uncomfortable it made them) so I told the director of operations -- in charge of the entire building -- & do you know what he told me? "Well, I can't tell someone what they can & can't say, besides, he's one of our best workers, it's weird that he'd do that." This man had been harassing me for a long time, physically & verbally. I had to catch him on video before I was taken seriously, & then I was told I wasn't allowed to do that (which isn't true, in AZ you can record a conversation as long as one participant knows: me. Plus there was no company policy against it... however, not long after that, the company actually wrote it into policy that you couldn't record people @ work). And not long after a camera was installed & caught the guy harassing me & he had to be fired, I was fired too. So, yeah. That's my don't rock the boat story.

I’ve started to come back to this case as I didn’t watch the first couple of weeks. I work in film and TV, watching her ask him about pay, benefits, and per diems is so frustrating 😅 any crew that isn’t local to an area is put up in accomodation, per diems are given plus food is provided via catering on set/location during filming days. Travel is also usually paid for, organised for crew or crew is reimbursed (depending on contract type). This is normal and expected practice.

What I saw was Keenan being asked if he was aware of anyone accusing Johnny of violence, then (keenan) him saying no, then the lawyer telling him about that suit, then asserting that Keenan lied.
