It's called playback singing, she has sung over 30000 songs in 15 different languages, for the past 78 years, basically she has been the voice of 3 generations of India, so it's a huge huge loss for the country, the extent of sadness amongst the people over her passing away is just alarming, she is also called the Nightingale of India

Lata Mangeshkar is known as 'Nightingale of India'. In her lifetime she has sung 25,000 songs in 36 different languages and her name is recorded as most recorded singer in Guinness book of World records. She was awarded India's highest civilian award 'BharatRatna' by Govt. Of India. 2 days national mourning was declared by the government on her demise.

Bwahahaha actually I think she's supposed to be a ghost that's why he's a bit bewildered and she's crying because she's singing about: come close to me, because I won't be here every time. Put your arms around me so that I can cry my heart. Let my love pour (rain) out of my eyes. We may not have this moment in this lifetime ever again. we have been blessed with this moment by a stroke of luck. Let's hug it out, we may never have this moment again in this lifetime. Edit: obviously a LOT has been lost in translation. The lyrics are actually very deep and something of a poem by itself.
