I feel it's hard to communicate with a provider about drugs like Benzodiazepines, because they are commonly abused. If you are having panic attacks, do you just tell them and let them decide treatment? Because I feel like if you say the word "xanax" or another drug by name they think you are just drug seeking or looking for a particular drug. It's hard to find the right balance.

The goal of this type of communication is to discuss coming off those medications because they cause much harm beyond addiction and dependence.

Hi, Jezel! 👋 Could you please do a video on MAOI's? I've heard they can be very helpful for some patients with treatment resistant depression.

It's so sad that we have to be so careful about harming the arrogant mds feelings when what we really want is to never see them again! If they don't know what they are doing how can they really ever help us.

I just discovered your youtubes, subscribed & watch this one. THANK YOU for the very useful & much-needed advice. However, I'm at a strange stage: prescribed 10 mg Lexapro by my psychiatrist for the past 18months & finally told I could start coming off. His advice = to simply drop directly from 10 mg to 5mg overnight & then hold at 5mg for 3 months, & then see him to advise on further steps. Unfortunately, after reading up recent guidelines by Horowitz +, and following Dr. Josef (tapering clinic), I discovered that the drop advised would be too rapid & cause harm. I've delayed any drop OR visiting my psychiatrist as I'm v.unsure just how to discuss his (clearly outdated) tapering approach - however carefully & with newer evidence based information - without putting him totally off.. Would you have any advice for my situation..or should I seek another psychiatrist?? Sincerest thanks again for your useful tips.

Great advice. Never mention KZbin, Facebook groups, etc. They have already diagnosed you as having “issues”. Don’t prove them right. Help them to help others.

Obviously, you’ve never had to actually use these resources? Good luck! 🤦🏼‍♀️
