For me, as a former Niji fan for over a year, Niji is a case of "Love the talents, despise the management for making the most braindead decisions ever."
@Kaimine08
@Kaimine08 Жыл бұрын
Pretty much what I've been saying. I love the talents, but dear god do I hate the management. If these talents left, I would follow them, i would not follow Nijisanji. There branding of "Watch who you want" can really come back to bite them if the people you actually enjoy left. If all of Ethyria, Pomu, Elira, Mika, and Rosemi left, that would be it for me for Nijisanji.

@@peacechan4500 Uhm…. Unless ur in twitter u don’t actually get a gist of the reputation damage tbh. Like the Japanese side of niji is thriving, in China they are minding their business and it’s really the en, id side where most issues come into. There’s also this holo niji rivalry esp in the en side but businesswise they are earning cash. The en side has a stable steady subscriber and viewership increase, they go to conventions, there is constant merch drop and event cafes so idk whether the reputation damage is really that big. It’s only big for twitter unseres or those that like to follow the drama. Now this is not me liking niji but it’s abit overblown.

It's morbidly amusing that Nijisanji is so hands-off with managing their talents, while someone like Astel from Holostars has said he literally has three different people managing him for schedules, events, and plannings separately. Or how Cover actually paired Towa with a different manager when she didn't jive or get along with her previous one. The difference in treatment quality is staggering...

One thing I will always remember about Hololive is the trust members have with the management, and in return, the fans. I just want to emphasize that NijiID was the only foreign branch they have that actually had a GREAT local management, or at least based on their reputation. The talents seems to be really positive with them, and the fans love them. NijiID has almost zero drama and no graduation whatsoever -- before the takeover. So no, the negative reception is mostly not because they lost local identity. It's because the JP management left them to die. Cancelled projects, no more unique merchs (that even fans make their own bday merch and send the profit to the talents), barely any support, no permissions, no plan for the future. ID branch went from small but very solid branch to the current state: mass graduations, talents openly talking about how awful their current situation are, and they even made very dark jokes with their current situation like making tombstones for themselves in minecraft -- including for people who haven't made any announcement for graduation.

What I hate the most is that for Selen being hindered from giving away her own money to the fans; is that you can smell the corporate greed. They clearly want to figure out a way to get a cut of the money for helping her organize the contest. So she is probably paying well over the 5000 prize pool just to satiate the management enough to even attempt it. Then the cherry on top is her revealing that she was told in advanced that she was not allowed to prep anything prior to getting a new outfit ticket and then while planning the event, was told she should have planned ahead. I just hope that the Gundou Mirei controversy passes by with her unscathed. She has been put on leave for a while for just asking a question about a sport she knew nothing about. Hopefully her management team isn't trying to lynch her like the internet was.

Especially on that comment on this not even being the first time management informed her on some important last minute change while she was streaming only for her to see the message after ending. How much bs do you need to be pulling for THE Selen Tatsuki to be on the verge of a full blown rant on stream. Sure Selen plays up the toxic sweaty gamer trope for shits and giggles but (at least from what I've seen so far) she's really good at maintain professionalism, separating internal affairs from streaming approved behind the scenes content. Correct me if I'm wrong since I've only been watching her solo streams for a couple months but I don't think she's had any slip ups before this or at least not this close. Imo it just shows the level of frustrating that's been building Edit: Autocorrect 😒

@@tbk2010 It's a publicly traded company. Its a given that short-term profit >>>>>>> long term growth. That's the only way to please share holders, when profit goes up, even at the cost of future profit margins (because shareholders don't see that part). In his interview with Kiryu Coco shortly before her graduation YAGOO, the CEO of Cover corp. (Hololive), said that most if not all of the Talents in the agency earned more money than him and that he was more than ok with that. Hololive was born as a passion project of Sora and A-Chan with Yagoos support and grew to the self sustaining, yet more "restrictive" company it is now. So self sustaining in fact that they're currently working on their own alternative to KZbin since they don't need the Ad money and instead have a super healthy merch economy, with well spread out anniversarys and birthday celebrations, high quality products (at least the once I spent my paychecks on lol), a huge variety of digital and analog goods etc. The only thing that's shit is their shipping to EU and Afrika lol. i am okay with people and companies to make mistakes, no one is perfect, but they need to learn from their mistakes, people get better by learning from their mistakes not repeating them, and there is a big difference between Niji and Holo on that regard. Holo also had many dramas in the past, Mel incident, Mio incident, Aloe incident, Coco-Haachama-Taiwan incident, Rushia incident and some small ones, but everytime after these incidents, they get better. From Mel incident, they reformed the management, all female managers with rotation, and prefer to hire non-holo fans as managers. after mio incident, training on copy right and perms to talents and managers, after the Aloe incident, better background check and predebut training and support. After Coco incident, training on political/cultural taboos and language guidelines. After Rushia, further improve on the mental and health support and fight aganist the slanders. i just feel that after all these years, they are getting better and better, they were very small back then, but with their hard work and improvements, now they are the leader in the industry, with good support and a fair cut between the company and the talents, both are very successful.

@@thejamesonthestreet Eh, i disagree. They shouldnt change the freedom part of the appeal. VShojo isnt a vtuber company like Hololive and Nijisanji, VShojo is a talent agency. Meaning that they have no power on the talents' decision since the vtubers own their content, channel and IP. They only help in merch deals, sponsorships, advertisements, tech support and legal help, like most agency do ie Mythic Talent. My advice for VShojo is to recruit good vtubers. Dont recruit edgy or mean vtubers like Veibae who's now in a drama regarding the r-word she used. Recruit more good and well-behaved vtubers like Henya, Ironmouse, Haruka, Nazuna and Kson.

Hololive is the definition of QUALITY over Quantity. They just seem to handle things much better these days & even though they have their fair share of drama that occur it's taken care of swiftly and we as the community actually see how they handle it by them releasing transparent information. As for the managerial side of things what's good about Hololive is that the talents give an identity to their managers making them feel like actual real people. From the managers of Myth who we all know & love to Axel's Gorilla manager, from Shinove-san of Holostars JP, to A-chan & Nodoka and to see the actual CEO Yagoo be present in many occasions just gives off a better reputation of Hololive. Whereas in Niji we have no idea who these people are as they are barely mentioned or have any presence. Hololive feels more like a family than a business whereas Niji is business first.

So lets reassess here talent side: 1. You are given a model. 2. You are given a major clout boost with a marketed debut and the brand is STRONG 3. equipment for your debut is all self bought, hence they obviously hire talent who are already experienced streamers with a large sub and view count. Like at least 100k subs on average. And increasingly higher based on how Mysta said "I was lucky to make it back then. But I wouldn't be able to get in now." 4. Debut assets and for future streaming is entirely out of pocket. And given how important a debut is. You kinda wanna go big with the expectation to earn back later 5. You earn 35% from donations from fans and supas. When normally talent agencies here ask for 30% for them while they go out to make deals on your behalf to give you 70%. Mystic and Vshojo follow this kind of model. 6. Literally ask permission for everything. Despite how understaffed management is in regards to processing such requests while at the same time its important to do so, because acting without perms is a faux pas. Have fun playing fall guys and Apex for months until you actually get perms to do what you want and thats IF you get them at all. Thats right. RIP creative freedom. And the fun part is management's mandates changes on a whim and a dime. Perms can be revoked much faster than they are approved. 7. No independent sponsorship deals, everything through your agency. 8. Your country has fair use. Japan doesn't. So you don't purely by policy. 9. Sometimes you're contractually obligated to shill or partake in projects you don't want and given minimal to no support. Like your debut song. Where you're just expected to send in your lines and the song is just shat out with no input creatively from you nor the ability to coordinate with gen mates to better that project.

If it was, they'd quickly reach the point where every wave has at least at least a few B-list content creators and maybe an occasional A-lister (like xqc level fame). As it actually stands, they started out with C-listers and got progressively more literally-who with each wave, Millie and Luxiem excluded. I find it very hard to believe that someone like Yugo had any experience with streaming at all. Meanwhile, I was able to instantly tell the PL of three hololive JPers when I was first introduced to them, without even knowing much about japanese entertainment. Staff-san also works with various local (Indonesian) creator that they sucessfully kickstart a big original song and even birth waves with Indonesian artist as the Livers creator/mama. The number of Vtubers under Nijisanji is so big there's no chance of cohesiveness or even feeling like any of them are "related" in any way. Add to that lack of management and a company that doesn't seem to actually care about any of their talents and it's just not a good look. Meanwhile, Hololive/Cover hasn't had new talents in quite a while. Holo EN still doesn't have a gen 3, even though Council was in 2021. HoloJP hasn't had any new members since 2021 either. ID had only 3 new member over a year ago. The only new members this year are the second "wave" of Tempus. Hololive are more interested in building up their current members than just signing up like 10+ new Vtubers every month, and seem to treat them better overall too.

They've been stabilizing the brand and they also desperately needed more studio space. They didn't want to take on more people if they would be unable to support them at the expected level. Also, '21-22 had a certain amount of debut burnout due to indies and small agencies chasing after the HoloEN miracle. Sounds like the new studio is ready and debuts are open for all branches, we may have news before the end of the year.

I'm only 10 minutes into this video so I don't know if this gets addressed, but another thing that Nijisanji is not very good at is exposing their Japanese talent to overseas audiences. They probably don't think they need to, because they already have the English vtubers and whatnot, but their community will never be able to have the massive crossover success a community like Hololive has that creates games like Holocure and Idol Showdown if they keep everything compartmentalized like that. I can name basically almost everyone Hololive has on their roster in any region, but for Nijisanji, I can really only name most of their English vtubers like Millie, Enna, Pomu, Rosemi, Selen, Finana, and Elira. Other than the ones that are named specifically in this video, I cannot name any of their Japanese members. That's a problem.

i start watching nijisanji because the picture of "family" however after yugo's graduation, after the cancel of AR concert, seeing the talents hurt because of their own company i cant continue support them as i was to me fanbase is not a big problem, it is external, it something we can fix as a big nijisanji family includes livers, management and viewers. fans always want the best for the liver and the company we are here to support, tell me where i did wrong, tell me what can i do to improve i will try my best to fix it but internal problems cant work like this, things between liver and the company are something we can only accept as viewer i thought liver and company should support each other, i thought they are partners. but then? yugo's graduation without any kinds of sign and explaining, the concert dream of all liver stop by the company, asking them to create all the covers, debut videos by their own because knowing livers are the one who want it end up well the most and stop them form steaming to punish livers?? any color use people's dreams threaten them this is not content creators with a company supporting them chasing their dreams livers themselves are still funny and talent, and that is. tbh it is every easy to find things that are funny, people that are talent people support a person or group not only because they are funny but they have ambition, dreams, and they work hard toward, their have opinions, thoughts on things, they have personality, and every thing based on being real being real includes facing the problems, talk about the problems i hope to see them fixing problems together to become better as whole, as nijisanji but all i see is them actung like there is no problem thing upsetting me most is there is no determine to fix current issue, liver and company talks nothing about it are we still chasing at any dream or just trying to make money, act, live life, fill in the schedules?

I sometimes have to think that Nijisanji just thinks that they can get away with small things and problems due to reputation and size alone. People think that freedom is always a good thing, but in reality, having someone who is good at judging situations to help you can be better. This is what hololive management does, they help the talents (which are usually pretty young) to make decision that require someone more savvy. Niji should get around to actually managing their talents given how much drama there's been. But i guess it's too expensive given the number of vtubers...
@quattrokerbecs
@quattrokerbecs Жыл бұрын
In some cases, freedom is just another cage. Sure, you can do whatever you want, but that doesn't stop the consequences of your choices from playing out. This either leads you to constantly step on eggshells to remain in good standing, or disregard the thoughts of others entirely to retain that sense of freedom.
@rayoscrost6062

Freedom is actually more limiting than people realize. Lets say you have a choice between 6 places that you love to eat, and you could go for any of them. How are you to choose which one to eat? But lets say someone only gave you an option between 2 places? It suddenly becomes easier to choose no? That is the "illusion of freedom and choice". It makes harder for you to choose a path than when you have less. This is true for life as well. Sometimes less options can actually help you decide what you really want.

@@darkevilazn I feel like the concept of management is more apt to say You still have the option of all 6 choices, but your friend wants to go to one of the 2. This is what I love about Hololive, they treat Vtubing as a serious and expanding business that they wish to stay for years to come, that's why they invested a lot into their development and expansion, making sure they're stable first before getting more members, knowing they have understaff issues. Hololive memebers are also just far more well-behaved and self-controled than any other Vtubers, they usually don't leak anything and don't cause any drama, and mostly drama happens to them, that's why Hololive have the most loyal fanbase Compare that to Nijisanji, they basically just throw everything on the wall and see what sticks, they're only using Vtubing to make quick bucks, that's why they keep debuting more and more people, while over half of them rarely stream, or they just quietly quit and graduate without any fanfare, but they don't care because in Nijisanji quantaty over quality, if 1 out of 20 became popular that's good enough for them As for their talents, they always test the boundaries, which could be good for contents, but more often than not they just cause dramas, most of their drama are all self inflicted, like Gwelu made a cover that's throwing shades at Pekora, it's just asking for trouble. And of course you have Petra accidentally leaked their Discord chat, which revealed what a bunch of a-holes NijisanjiEN are, just talking sh*t about how great Nijisanji is and how poorly HoloCouncil and HoloStar are doing. Even if Hololive does the same thing behind the scene, they never show that side and never leak anything like this And yeah, the Zaion situation also showed how unprofessional and malicious Nijisnaji, as well as their members are. I remember there's a clip of Finana accsuing Zaion for gaslighting her, which ages like milk after Zaion came out and explained the truth, basically the so-call "gaslight" was just Zaion telling them the management didn't tell her she can't do something, but they misinterpreted it as "Zaion lied about management said it's ok for her to do that thing". But overall it's just very unprofessional and even mean for them to spread negative things about someone, knowing they don't have the power to talk back or explain for themselves, just look at Hololive, they're professional and don't talk about the people that graduate in any negative way, even if mikeneko totally deserves it Overall, Hololive builds their brand around their talents, while Nijisanji builds their talents around their brand, to a point some people legitimately don't give a crap who they're watching, as long as it's Nijisanji. If you disagree, name everyone who's currently still in Nijisanji, nobody can, recently there's someone called Akane Asahina that's graduating, and I ligitimately never heard or seen her before

Zaion is not a good example. I read her document and she was continually maneuvering to get her own way. They probably should have moved her to a different manager or found a senpai to mentor her a bit, help with the rules she didn't understand. We have her word about these matters but the pattern of excusing and minimizing does lead me to believe she explained herself badly to other EN members and caused a misunderstanding about permissions. The company should have gotten her some personalized help or straight-up fired her much sooner, leaving things done halfway wasn't good for anybody.
@tangroro
@tangroro Жыл бұрын
@@passintogracegoldenyearnin6310 I think you misunderstood my point, my point was never whether Zaion was innocent or not, I was talking about how unprofessional and malicious Nijisanji and its members have been when handling the situation They could've just terminated her, saying she broke their guide lines or rules, but instead they listed out her sins for everyone on the internet to see, knowing full well Zaion can't even defend or explain herself, and also know doing such thing will encourage people to harasse her, or at least ruins her career as streamer and Vtuber, no company will accept her after reading it And the members, they could've been professional and only make minimum comments on it, but they had to add feul to the flame, talking on stream so everyone on the internet can know how Zaion gaslighted them or made them sad, knowing how their fans will react, and Zaion can't defend herself. I even saw memebers made fun of her or threw shade at her, it's like kicking a dog while its already freaking dead Even if Zaion is Paul brothers level of sc*umbag, for people at the same company to behave like this, almost like they wanted blood or revenge on her, espcially knowing she can't even explain herself, it's toxic and unprofessional. Sometimes say nothing requires courage and willpower, Hololive did it while Nijisanji, or at least NijisanjiEN failed Even Matsuri, when Haachama didn't attend her birthday live last second, she's professional enough to vent on her personal account, and she also didn't name drop, only a vague harsh tweet that could've meant for anyone
@passintogracegoldenyearnin6310
@passintogracegoldenyearnin6310 Жыл бұрын
@@tangroro Right, poor management can lead to more unprofessional conduct and more public gaffes. It's hard to tell how much is them being full of themselves, how much is them being encouraged to badmouth her, or how much is genuine frustration about her finally being vented because she's no longer protected as a fellow employee. Sometimes people really do become hated or at least distrusted by their coworkers, but you're right to say that real professionals will not vent their personal feelings about it publicly. They could have let her go for "creative differences" sooner, but it sounds like she was good at apologizing/promising/making excuses. And she definitely had potential, so from a money-centered perspective they held on to her in hopes of having another big channel with good income. After waiting too long to reach this point it sounds like they were all very done with her.

When they debuted EN, I was concerned they would have the same fate, but then they are now as popular as the JP branch. I brushed it off as maybe ID and KR just did not have enough market in their own countries, but then again it really shouldn't explain how support from management is pretty much nonexistent. It's really sad what happened to them because so many of them are sooo talented. Now, since they've debuted EN, people are noticing the problems more. And I do like that, people should fight for what is right and I hope niji will at least change.

As an English-language translator and editor by trade, I also can't help but fault Nijisanji for popularizing (and, really, being the only major agency to use) the term "liver" as opposed to "talent." I really, really want that term to fade from existence, as I literally can't see it written in tweets or other statements without pronouncing it as "LIVV-er" -- like, the body part, or the meat taken from that body part of an animal. Any management team that's OK with using the word "livers" to refer to their talents clearly has issues. It's not the biggest problem with them, of course -- but it should have at least been a red flag to everyone all this time, I'd say. ;)

It covered all of the issues that nijisanji as a company has. It's easy to keep up with and perfectly expresses my thoughts on the situation. Of course, not everything was covered but that is to be expected with the crapton of drama surrounding the company. Very well done. It's.. unfortunate that the livers are being mistreated. I truly love how talented and passionate the livers are to build their communities and how hard they work, whether it be organizing collabs or making projects they are extremely passionate about. Seeing said livers go through mental lows (A major factor being possibly the postponement of the AR colors concert) is extremely heartwrenching. I despite Nijisanji as a company just not being able to support the livers better, because they really do deserve it. Either way, I do hope in the future Nijisanji improves as the company. I will continue to support the livers and hope for the best. Meanwhile their 'competition' (they don't play on the same field but it's the only real one) Hololive is continuing to show extreme support and help for their talents. Agreed on the Hololive part. After Coco graduated, Cover actually tried to help their talents if they are in a drama/scandal. ie. Rushia with her scandal and Cover releasing a statement to protect her until she breached NDA which left them no choice but to let her go.

But if she was mentioning Cover directly she could got problems, with contract and such, so it was more fans deducing it. Niji has turned (or always was) into a machine. They do not have any capacity for giving ground to base level employees and talents. It is what I believe Yagoo recognized, which resulted in Hololive slowing down with their talent releases. For all of their mistakes, Hololive has gone a very long way in helping their talents with their mental health (although a few sadly had to pay the price for that to happen). For now the sheer size of their talent pool allows Niji to weather dramas by sweeping them under the rug but eventually, this kind of thing catches up to any company, if they don't pay attention to talent mental health and course correct.

It was a small but present fear that a lot of Hololive fans had at the time. They had released wave after wave of talents due to the flu and isolation measure boosting growth. So a lot of fans were starting to worry that the company's growth might be unsustainable. Yagoo's comment cut that fear down at the root before it even manifested on mainstream fans. This fear was specially founded by some of the management problems that Hololive was facing at the time. Suisei story had come to light to mainstream audience, people were getting informed of the Mel's manager's abuse of power. You also had the Coco situation and several other drama events that Hololive had taken a bit too long to respond too. Everyone knew they were understaffed, or had been at different times, so the explosive growth they had in talent during the pandemic had people worried.

I'm of the opinion that managers have always paid attention to their talent's health. I mean there's plenty of clips where Holomem (the long streamer ones like Koyori and Kaela) try to sneakily stream without the managers knowing but get caught. Stories like management downright forcing Fubuki to take a month (iirc) off coz she hadn't taken a break from debut until then. (First break in 2 years) Suisei timidly asking for a week long hiatus, only to be surprised when they said "yes" easily. I've also seen clips of Pekora and Flare playfully telling their viewers "you don't want me to take breaks right? You want me to stream more?" but get told "no, take a break" lol. The Holomem who was most obviously annoyed by the care about their streaming frequency was Korone. She outright said "they finally gave up" lol I have seen a clip where Mikeneko (that persona specifically) said that she was diagnosed with "manic depression". I was told that that was another name for bipolar disorder. That clip is gone now tho as Mikeneko had a rule where people aren't allowed to clip her channel. No matter how much care management gave, they're not psychiatrists. And from my understanding Mikeneko only sought help for her mental issues after the whole incident was over.

Very well-rounded analysis As one of the fans that came in with the wave of 2022, I only had some of the knowledge and context of what's been going on. I think one of the biggest problems with the general perception of Nijisanji right now is the dissonance between corporate culture and entertainment culture. If you look at what Niji has been doing from a strictly *business-minded* perspective, everything makes sense. Especially considering *we don't know exactly what the contracts dictate* for behaviour between the company and their livers. However, with how "personal" the relationships feel between a fan and their oshi, these actions feel like a direct injustice. This industry is too new, too parasocial, too profitable, and growing far too fast for people to know how to react to the things that are happening. Yes, Nijisanji should be doing something to rectify the situation (from a moral standpoint) but I doubt they'll feel the pressure to actually do anything until their profits tank more than what releasing a new wave can cover. Whenever something happens they like to bandaid the situation with a new wave or mew merch, but one day that's not gonna work. The train is moving too fast and it's gonna get derailed if they don't slow down or course correct within the next 3-5 years.

I think this is more a: how much far they will go without the tower collapse itself. Holo is getting stronger because they focus on quality instead, even with their own issues, they manage to keep it straight and honest, and sometimes rules are made not for restrict but for keep it things straight and steady without derail at all. Also there is a key difference between Cover and Anycolors who people keep forgetting always. One is run by a guy who had a small develop VR company and became the behemoth who is now days, because Cover was smallest than even Anycolors was due another key factor, money. Why? because Tatsumi, is from a well off family and his app was just his universitary project who end up getting success. NOW there is another key difference at present by the person who is running. One is an ex-Sanrio (One of the biggest brands in japan and overseas too), with decades experience in development and sales in his 40s, while the other one is just a universitary rich boy in his 20s who comes from a well off family and happen to hit the jackpot with his app. THERE IS worlds of difference between those 2, because one knows how to invest and has the experience on this, while the other just seen the equivalent of a cash cow and said lets throw everything to the wall and see what it sticks. Their flaws start to appear the moment they were the ones chasing Cover/Hololive and start to commit smaller mistakes, sometimes not visible but they where there... until this year who things start to implode by themselves with the cancelation of the EN event, the Zaion's termination, Gundou Mirei's suspension for the prettiest reason, and finally the "2%" fiasco. I ask my gf/wife (who happen to be living in Saitama due her job) to relay if what she saw in stores are hololive related products or Niji ones. Her awnser? ONLY HOLOLIVE ONES, not a single Niji product at all. And when you're a brand wanting to had products out this is not a good sign.

Just a heads up for some comments saying to support the artists not the company, if you are support the talents you are actually directly supporting the company, thats unfortunate but it is the way it is, and I do not see any other way to work around this problem, because it is a double edge sword, if people stop completely supporting the company and the artists, they will just change the artists and that is it, because more people will want to join in their place, or the company will just change their ideas and brand, in the end of the day, it is very unlikely to change anything at all.

Hearing that Nijisanji keeps the milestone plaques for channel sub count goals actually bothered me more than most other things. Maybe because this was the first time I've heard that. It's pathetic. For a few years now I've been saying that the streamers need to make sure they leak their private channels out in a way they don't get held responsible for. Without doing this the company could end their vtuber channel at any time and fans may not be able to find them in the future. This would completely reset everything they worked for and make them have to start from scratch again - or just give up totally. I know a number of Hololive girls like Kiara (Keekihime), Calli (DemonDice) and a few others have their personal online channels known and will not have any problems when they leave Hololive. I remember as Coco got ready to graduate she made sure to start streaming on her Kson channel to get ready to roll as soon as she was free.

Getting her first suspension shortened then immediately screwing up again. It all went downhill from there, increasingly adversarial. That two-week "family trip" was supposed to be a chance for her to save face and get her head in the game, make a solid plan for her return. Opening channel memberships without permission? Going behind her manager's back because she couldn't let go of that stupid Genshin account? 11:42 Can't agree more with this. The company already playing with viewers' emotions in a show of make-believe, yet they are just taking it to another level with various cold decisions. Considering the situation in JP right now & how mentally fragile their viewers are, it's unethical to do so. I also agree with your last statement about critics. It's not good to avoid critics like some criminals avoiding questions from law enforcement. There are differences between critics & insults. I understand that people ignore critics most of the time for reasons, yet if the issues are not being addressed, stagnation & loss will be waiting in the corner. The fact this company was expanded too soon right after the first success gives the impression that they want to monopolize the market as soon as possible to claim the position as the "first" & the "biggest". Expanding the market is good if you can do it right, with thorough market research, understanding of the market target's culture, demographic & spending habits of your target market. Ideally, there should be benefits to both ends. Instead, this company achieve "success" after a series of experiments with trials & errors which is actually can be avoided if they properly did what I mentioned before for minimizing damage & issues. The rule & standards are all over the place. I was also one of the people who thought that the "freedom" they give is actually real, but then changed my mind after I realized that was not the case. It's more like a hands-off than freedom. Livers don't get 3D even though they already serve for years, political influence, members MIA, using fanworks without credit, hidden rivalry/bullying among members, multiple abandonment issues, lying to the public, unfair shares, disrespecting audience & other questionable decisions. Even after 3 years of observing this industry, I still don't really get their SOP because of their constant inconsistency regarding things. Whether it was because of the rebranding from Ichikara to Anycolor or not, it's unknown to the public because of the non-transparent system. But if there is any standard for what they do, then I can only mention one thing for sure: popularity. And popularity means profit. Unfortunately, this kind of thing seems to be "normal" in Japan, especially in the entertainment industry. Japan have the reputation on doing such things in history. In the manga industry, for example. Everything is decided by popularity polls & mangaka are have been a voluntary slave. When an artist/ idol, whether they are individual or group ceased in popularity, they will be dumped like nothing. No matter how unethical is this, profit is above morale. Then what I can do as a viewer? Don't get attached to people I don't even know well on the internet. Don't let my emotions be manipulated to the extent of wasting my precious time & hard-earned money on them. Don't give what they want so easily. This company just give a convincing thought that the next time a JP company offers a job, think of it twice or probably thousands of times. Do your homework to research first about them. Is it really as good as it appears to be? Because it could be a really harsh & messed up job, especially when you are the products. No kidding. Yet even after all of this chaos, I'm still hoping something change for the better. Thank you for the insight🙏

The more time passes, the more I see similarities between the Nijisanji VS Hololive comparisons and the World of Warcraft VS Final Fantasy XIV ones, with Nijisanji as World of Warcraft and Hololive as Final Fantasy XIV. First with the company managing them; how Anycolor redefined the VTuber market by focusing on live streaming instead of pre-recorded videos much like how Blizzard changed the MMO market by making WOW more casual-friendly, how Cover Corp. went in the Vtuber market expecting Hololive's success to go as smoothly as their previous products before facing big problems causing huge damages to their brand much like how Square-Enix launched FFXIV expecting it to work just as fine as FFXI without verifying if the game was even functionnal to begin with and receiving huge backlash due to the awful state of the 1.0, ... But also how those company managed their growth; Anycolor trying to maintain their momentum and their profits even at the cost of their employees much like Activision-Blizzard neglecting their staff's wellbeing as long as the game was profitable, Cover Corp copying the market's leader (Nijisanji) in order to gain momentum like the FFXIV team look up to WOW's way of doing to build a proper base for their game in order to start building their own stuff, ... Other thing I noticed is how they communicate to their fanbase; Anycolor being very ambiguous about how they operate and their staff being very discreet much like Activision-Blizzard not sharing that much about them and their staff appearing very sporadicaly, meanwhile Hololive's CEO and managers started being much more proeminent in the company communication with the more well known gaining nicknames such as YAGOO and A-chan much like Naoki Yoshida, aka Yoshi-P, is the main spokeman for FFXIV holding live streams about future updates with member of the staff. I don't know if other have seen the same things or even have evidences that those parallels are not that strong but I'm really interested to hear what they have to say about it.

I was bored one day upon pandemic and thought about "Hmmm, I remember seeing something like anime youtuber (Kizuna Ai) a few years ago, how's that going btw?" and I typed Virtual youtuber horror game and boom, Ange clip popped out and I have been here for a while. Sanbaka, Yashiro + Chika fun duo childish men, Gunkan funny couple, Ex Albio minecraft blow up, but nowadays those are gone with too many new gens popping out and new clippers rarely clip them anymore which is kinda sad. To be honest, recent clip wise (which is a good way to introduce newcomers) Holo has the edge over Niji, cause people get invested to know Holos due to recurring person unlike Niji keep getting new faces which clippers ride the hype on.

They have some good singers in the JP group, but they don't seem to know what to do with them. Give these ladies some work!

@@passintogracegoldenyearnin6310 They do though. They have groups like Nornis, Chronoir, etc. Some are solo and not in a group. The groups have dedicated channel as well.
