@@blubee6896 Suisei even got to keep her existing identity. That just shows you how perfectly crafted she is, that she fit right in with Hololive's ideals and image when they decided to hire her. Contrast that to Senzawa, who would have been awesome as a Holomem, but she just didn't really fit as she was. Of course we ultimately ended up with Samezawa, so it all worked out great in the end. I call it proof Hololive really is the best for a reason. Like the twins, they see what will work and they make it happen.

It reminds me a lot of how Polka's able to do a lot of more produced variety show content similar to her own past life. It really does feel like HoloLive takes a lot of care and attention to help their talents find the specific niche that matches them, rather than treating all content creators as equivalent streamers, which is to everyone's benefit.

@@Xgennn57 I still remember being there in the beginning with LazuLight, still getting to know Pomu and the gang, when they announced a second generation not even a few months later. And then another...and another... It gave me bad vibes right away. And while you get gems like Pomu, Ewiwa, Selen and others, you also sometimes get stinkers like Fulgur. And you also dilute the formula by bringing in so many talents so quickly, even if all of them were equally top notch. Hololive has plenty of flaws, but they take their time on things nowadays, and they check off the little things on the way, I'll give them full credit.

I was actually surprised about how a lot of the Hololive community went crazy for the debut of Fuwawa and Mococo. I thought it was because they were cute. Apparently, it was more than that. I looked at the twins' previous incarnation and found a lot of sad things during their graduation. It was surreal finding out about these two ON THEIR GRADUATION DAY! The KZbin Algorithm works in mysterious ways and it finally recognized them as they said goodbye. It was very bittersweet. How surreal seeing them continue after their graduation hoping for a comeback and then finally seeing their final goodbye. It was very sad. Seeing them come back in such a tremendous way has been thrilling. My heart is full. I am so happy to see their talent recognized.

Thankfully KZbin's algorithm is much kinder to small creators since a couple months ago. Talents like Amai Hiyo and Kaheru have gotten the attention they deserve. I knew of these two even before their reiincarnation through a vod of House of the Dead Remake.. They were so fun to watch and I was starting to watch more and more of them and after a week, they announced their graduation. Needless to say, I was devastated. And here comes the Advent teaser. and I saw the twins. I was hopeful. I wanted it to be THEM! And then I came to watch their debut. Once I heard the voices, I screamed, "oh my god, it IS them!" I cried because I got to hear them again. Kudos to Yagoo and the company for accepting these two and staying true to their concept. It may just be a joke, but having "Yagoo save different talents from their bad past" has some truth to it.

I find it hard to call Gura or Calli ambassadors. Their individual brands are so big they kinda outgrew the niche. With the vastness of Vtubers and the anime girl aesthetic, there’s really not a strong association between the two. Gura and Calli really stand alone as an individual brand. Within that brand, there’s not strong ties to Japanese culture or tourism. If anything, Hololive JP stars like Pekora or Kurone more fill the bill. That being said, whoever is scouting for Hololive is knocking it out of the park. Gen 2 felt weak, but you’re following a powerhouse Gen 1. Gura is bigger than any of the JP stars. Literally a hard act to follow, but Gen 3 looks very, VERY strong. They know how to pick them

Man this rabbit hole went down hard. I was on the Mysta depression train and seeing a very unique twist on vtubing by Hololive for having a permanent collab was interesting, so I did research. It went from the Misaki sisters to their graduation to Japanese tourism to finding a game I hadn't played on steam for 10 years. What a wild journey, and an even wilder one for the Advent members. I'm glad the twins were given a second chance, seeing their graduation stream was clear that they did not want to leave, and seeing Bamboo (their former boss) wanting to keep them around but had no choice was really sad to see. I also love how FuwaMoco are dogs so the "rescued and given a home" part just makes me cry

I hated myself for learning about them 8 months before their graduation. The visual novel where they came from was one of the few games that I still look back with nostalgia, back when visual novels were simple yet fun. And finding not one but both of them as vtubers made me feel excited. While it was short...it was actually fun. I regret not finding them sooner nor spending enough time with them. Eina's post graduation about the two gave me some comfort till it finally ended earlier this year. When the twins were announced, a part of me had this odd suspicion. Digging through boards, discord chats, hell even deeper down the rabbit hole made me feel revitalized about the vtubing genre... considering that it was getting rough in the previous year. On the day of their debut, I honestly cried out of happiness that its them. As the meme goes: "They are as beautiful as the day I lost them".

It wasn't sudden. I think it was already in the back of everyone's mind from the start. GGN was incredibly niche. And the company... well, VN players are no stranger to close-downs. I think after Musicus achieved only cult success but without launching OVERDRIVE to the self-sufficiency level of even Alicesoft (who was, and IMHO, still is pretty touch-and-go) most of us expect them to close down, maybe put out one more game and that's it. They just have too high production quality without the the solid-base for the cost necessary, and at some point, I think they also have told all the stories they want to tell. When Bamboo said he wanted to continue the production of the GGN sequel, I feel like it was a lie, or at least a copium. It was kinda obvious that the sisters won't last even early on. This is why I was subscribed, but never really watched them beyond a handful of times. I don't feel like they're going to make it, and I guess that was a self-fulfilling prophecy. I didn't even remember to re-add them to my subscription after my scheduled sub-cleansing. With MangaGamer and Overdrive being part of my early delve into VNs (Kira Kira was damn good, and I can honestly recommend all of their VNs), the twins return's feels like the return of an important part of me, you know? It's like a part of my childhood managed to survive, and returned in some form. I'm just so happy, man.

I found the GGN VN a few years back. It looked like it could be good, so I put it on the backburner to play it later but unfortunately never came around to it. After checking out their channel and tuning into a few of their streams, I felt that I quickly grew a connection with them and felt the passion and enjoyment they had for what they were doing as vtubers. However, just as quickly as I grew to like them, we had to say goodbye to them. Though it hurt, I always hoped the best for them and that they could pop up some else and I could support them wherever they landed. Then, with the Advent reveal, it never really crossed my mind that FuwaMoco could have been them literally until I was getting ready to watch their debut stream. Of course, once I heard their voices, I knew it was them, and I was so happy for them to be back. I wasn't there for them long in their past life, but this time, I was able to support them from the start, and now I'll be there as a ruffian to the very end! (Hopefully this time there won't be an end. 😂)

Im still a fan on the old GGN discord. In the past they grinded like crazy and their last stream..... they were so sad and really didnt want to go. They streamed everyday and tried crazy things like 1000 sneeze stream. I am soo happy for the Twins. They now stream to an average of 11K from their 350. Reddit and the discord went nuts. The girls also were kind of nice enough to give a nod to their past brands in their goals of becoming travel ambassadors and protecting your smile.

Grit, tenacity, perseverance and resilience is a red thread through a lot of Hololive talents backgrounds. A lot of them have talked on stream about personal tragedies and how hard they have had to work to get where they are now. It’s honestly a really inspiring and they are all very deserving of their success. How they all help lift each-other up and speak with what seems to me to be genuine admiration for their coworkers, is what makes them stand out to me. Sure they tease, and banter with eachother. But that said hololive does not seem to have the issue of bullying behind the scenes that is cracking the facade of other companies (Nijisanji, & Wactor comes to mind). Is Cover corp spotless? No, there are times that they could have handled things better but at least they seem to learn from Mistakes made. I mean cover never made a public apology about how they handled coco’s situation but at the same time they let coco publicly beat up their ceo in her graduation stream, which is as close as you could come to a mea maxima culpa by a japanese ceo. I think to western audiences that was just a funny slapstick joke but in Japanese corporate cultural context it is practically unheard of. I think the twins gave found their home and I hope they get to collaborate with Polka.

It always amaze me the amount of talent that every single one of their talents display every new generation. So glad Hololive let the girls stream on the same channel. As you said, they are basically losing out on 1 channel's worth of revenue which would be unimaginable in a lot of other companies. It really shows that Cover is not in just for the money. If pulling out of China after the Coco incident still let some people feeling sceptical, this should settle the debate. Was sad like anyone else during their graduation and watched advent debut eagerly, but at no point did I ever connect the dots that they were one in the same. I'm really glad you made this video to bring attention to their story -- their whole story. I was a huge fan of their as "Akira and Makoto" and came in pretty early on that, because I had been familiar with the "Go Go Nippon" visual novel and thought the VTuber spinoff was a neat project. (I wasn't even aware of their Reddit activity, though it doesn't surprise me.) I was immediately surprised and impressed by how fun and active their streams were, though, and happily stayed for that -- like you said, it was clear that they loved their jobs, and they were so great at it and only got better over time. The fact that the numbers were small meant that it felt like a little community, and the chat on their live sessions was relaxed enough that they'd sometimes respond live to non-superchat comments, and it was just a wonderful experience. However, the fairly slow growth also really highlighted how an obscure platform made things hard to break through, no matter how hard you work -- they worked like dogs (pun intended), but their subscriber count crept up rather than exploded. Those who knew about them loved them, but they just didn't have the kind of platform that could bring them to notoriety immediately. Things were looking positive overall, but then MangaGamer pulled the plug on their project out of nowhere. The fanbase was just gutted, and the fact that the girls seemed upset and surprised by it only made things worse. They had a beautiful sendoff, but to discover they've been picked up by Hololive as "Fuwawa and Mococo" is a happy ending beyond my wildest expectations. Just goes to show you -- creatives of any stripe, never take for granted the skills, the talents, and the repertoire you build by putting your soul into something and working hard. Even if the original project doesn't reach wild success, you never know who's watching or who will see a spark of brilliance in what you do that will make them give you a better platform. Fuwawa and Mococo aren't doing that much differently now from what they did as Akira and Makoto, but they've made hundreds of times as many subscribers in two weeks with Hololive as they did with MangaGamer in two years. It's also a good object lesson to never dismiss creatives working in a small space. Give 'em a chance. You never know the hidden gems you might discover there. Finally, I hope Fuwawa and Mococo and their fans won't mind an occasional nod and wink to the past. Theirs is a wholesome, great, feel-good story that feels like a cross between Cinderella and Rock Lee -- a story of two deserving people who transcended a hardscrabble beginning not only through a fairy godmother named Hololive, but through the genius of hard work.

Man thanks for making this video. Quite literally these two were the only vtubers I put effort into watching and learning, hell even the first time I joined the membership of any KZbinr, and at the highest level too. And I really loved the community too and their manager was the best manager I ever met. I was so devastated when they graduated. Hell they even had little monthly messages for a while even after they were gone. I don't really care about Hololive or really any other vtuber all that much other than the occasional funny clip, so I was late to knowing anything about the new gen. But man the moment I heard their voices I kept out of my seat in joy. I was in the middle of work but luckily there wasn't anyone around lol. I wouldn't have cared. I was dancing! Then I went on to binge watch the streams I missed and gonna catch as much of them live as humanly possible. I'm so happy, I'm so happy for them, and I'm so happy so many more people will get to enjoy their adorable wholesomeness than ever before. God damn the parasocial flu is strong in me XD but I don't care. I'm just really really happy happy.

And yes, I'm proud that FUWAMOCO made it to Hololive, I guess I'm never wrong according to my senses, Yagoo always pick the best of the best talents and never misses a single one, to join Hololive.
