I think Shiori is totally fine, She wasn't playing a character and being much more herself than many talents are at debut. She's got an interesting model and has a variety of interesting hobbies, likes, and dislikes. She is also VERY aware of the memes and internet culture so I'm looking forward to her audience interactions.

I think the problem is that her design is godly but her personality didn't seem to match her design which made people just feel a bit disappointed. She could of gone with another design and would of still gotten similar or better reaction. For example, look at someone like Fauna who completely fits her design. Hard to find a better design for fauna.

I'd argue that she is in a persona, just that its 'subtle'. Either that or she does fit the aesthetic she has while being an Idol. Its the joke about how everyone wants a goth gf but gets freaked out by the red flags that should've been apparent. This talk of using scissors when eating or being into morbid/odd things like dead insects aims to present that idea. Subtle but its there.

For me as someone unfamiliar with FuwaMoco's past lives, their debut felt a lot like watching translated clips of JP vtubers with how much they lean into the Kay Fabe which actually feels really refreshing compared to other EN vtubers. The fact that they seem to be enjoying it so much makes it work very well.

I listened to Nerissa's cover last night after it was all over, and HOLY...SHIT. That voice is angelic, god tier, like it's stuck in my head now. Just like Kronii with council just her look alone captivated me, and I was NOT disappointed. Shiori surprised me the most, was expecting like DN a deep voiced don't give a shit vibe. The Gap Moe is real. Bijou is just funny, she's got the little jokester vibe. FuwaMoco... what can you say, they got that new puppy energy. Probably looking forward to their career the most.

Edit: to clarify female voices are pitchier and shriller when they are nervous and mellows a little when they get more comfortable. The change is subtle but noticeable generally speaking.

I don't know if I'm the only one to have noticed this, but since the twins are basically getting (I assume because I don't know how it works) half of what they would get if they were individuals like the other 3, them not having 1 single birthday stream means they are gonna rake in that money in February next year! I think the situation around Shiori just highlights how people tend to generalize tropes, in this case around the idea of goth. Goth encompasses a lot of things and isn't solely a personality or a way someone acts, its different for each person and some people just like goth fashion but don't have the personality to match, or their goth identity is just different as is the case with generalized stereotypes. So to the haters: Screw you and your generalized desires.

My honest thoughts about them Shiorin: she can fix me and I can fix her, but honestly, I believe leaving each other as broken as we are is much better. She's unhinged in a beautiful way. Bijou: She's adorable and I like that she wanted her fans to each one have "a sense of individuality" via the pebblesonas, very creative and easy to follow. Nerissa: She's got a wonderful singing voice and feels very nice to listen. She feels like a cool older sister who would take you out on a karaoke marathon. FuwaMoco: very ambitious, very adorable, I hope they can achieve all their dreams. The pledge part made me tear up a bit. Overall, 10/10, Cover made it once again hiring some very great talents, and I'm rooting for their success.

Yeah she's like the diamond in the rough for example like calli when she first started. Calli was a underground rapper who had no streaming experience which you could tell but look at her now became the third vtuber in history to reach 2mil subs and had collab with big brands and artists. Nerissa has that potential and already bound to sing and dance with holotori.

Even without knowing her identity you could have noticed her vocal technique, JP > EN song convertion, overall production quality level, and how she described herself basically coordinating and guiding the rest of her gen in singing their OG song -- she's definitely a well tempered polished gem already. At least in recording, we haven't heard her live karaoke yet. As for singing style, so far what makes her singing special is her ability to do an emoi power belting, which I can only attribute to 3 girls in Hololive: Suisei, Towa, and Risu's Ayunda mode. Even them rarely do that kind of stuff, which made me really excited for Rissa's career.

Already liking Shiori because she's a legit Bibliophile. Her choices of books are pretty close to my preferences. I own hardbound copies of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes books. Musgrave Ritual and Yellow Face are probably my favorites. She's a kindred spirit when it comes to fanfics too. She's pretty based in her choices like Metalocalypse and the Ghost Stories dub.

And you know what i like from Shiori? is that she is even more smarter than people think but compensates with her eccentricity too (also she is literally the most "oldest" there in terms of years doing this. SHE ALMOST PREDATE HOLOLIVE). And the fact she likes Sherlock Holmes and mystery novels, is a bookworm, has a strange sense of fashion and eccentric things make it clear. SHE IS the "Sherlock for Amelia's Watson" believe or not. Since Watson was always the hyper competent of the duo, while Sherlock was the all brain. Who is the hyper competent one in HoloEN? *DING DING* you guess it. Ame. The more i think the more sense it makes if you go with any version of the duo from books and movies. About Nerissa. YEAH! she is kinda new in a little of sense, if you KNOW who she is, but OH BOY!! she is literally a professional (both singer and VA as well. A guy from the discord server jump at notice who she is). But yeah!! its vanilla because she is basically the person who got in with only experience in other fields. Honestly people judge for what we had, but remember. THEY ARE HAVING ONLY 1 or 2 days. They are literally starting and we got even more we can keep up in a sole day. I'm more than pleased to see why they took so long too. This fullifil all the expectations for me and they went HARD ... REALLY HARD with everything. 2 covers, 2 back to back original songs, 1 group song, ANIMATED VIDEOS, etc. If anything, this rise the bar again on what presentations looks like.

I started to see why the process took them really long from the animation to everything else as well. Once again they struck gold with this Gen.

What do you find entertaining? Not hating, I'm genuinely trying to understand, I've seen a few of her streams and she's been relatively "blah". And while I agree that she has a strong voice and can sing, her song came of kind of monotone, as if there was no feeling behind it. It just sounded "rehearsed" as opposed to something with feeling While I hope she gets over the "thirsty anime girl" she seems to be portraying, cuz I think she could be entertaining, right now she's just kinda there. Shiori kinda fits in that boat too. I hope they do come into their own, but right now I feel like those two are the weakest in the group

She's one of those streamers that are just passionate about what they do and simply just does her own thing without playing into a specific type of character like FuwaMoco's Innocent Guard Twin Dog thingies or the Unseiso Houshou Marine. The moment I heard Shiori's voice, it gave me the hardest feelings of nostalgia, and when I looked into my subscriptions and crossed-examined their voices; she was one of the vtubers around the OG era (back when 3D models were the trend). Damn, I am so proud of her that she got into Hololive. It's like seeing an old friend become a better version of themselves. And yeah... her previous self was soooo much more unhinged than she is now. I feel like she will definitely be the leader of the group based on her experience. I think listening to Touhou Music is deep weeb culture imo, not something quite vanilla nowadays. So even though Rissa may be new to the VTubing Industry, she has deep experience in the music industry and music culture. Generally, I think this Gen is gonna be great, they have a ton of potential. Lets just hope and support them so that they manage to reach that point

Exactly how I feel. Shiori’s design was my favorite in the teasers and set my expectations high. What we got at debut was not what I expected at all. As a fan of vtubers from the early days, I know her from before though, which means I know what we have in store. Hype is immediately through the roof to see what she does in Hololive. I agree that even a veteran vtuber would be nervous debuting in hololive, but to be fair, Bijou seemed perfectly ready, and Fuwacoco (maybe because they had each other) didn't give me any nervouss vibes at all, just happy to be here. Overall none of them felt monumental, but all showed potential, I think this generation will be just fine once they work on themselves a bit more. Also Bijou is surprisingly my favorite so far, that girl is SMART, had the chat participating often during her stream, she kept everyone engaged right from the debut, and did little things to start consolidating her fanbase, like showing live the looks of her pebbles, how to draw them, giving important details while keeping it simple and open enough to customization. Watch out for her, girl got them brains under all that mineral.

I'll admit that I followed Shiori based on her design and lore. Who doesn't love a goth bookworm? But after watching her debut, I knew that I'd keep following her due to the interests we share: reading, photography, travel, and science. It's a refreshing chance of pace. If I was a VTuber, I'd probably be doing a lot of similar educational streams. My field is in Environmental Science, so that microscope stream she's going to have is intriguing. I really like how chill she is. I'll definitely have her on in the background when I'm working on projects. As for Nerissa, I've been following her previous singing work for years. So it's been a lot of fun seeing new fans getting their minds blown. Seriously, Nerissa is going to become EN's version of Suisei. I have no doubt that she'll be added to Hololive's best singers lineup and start releasing EPs in no time. And yes, she's absolutely a professional singer; she's actually one of the most famous English cover singers on KZbin. That's why her debut cover seemed so perfectly polished; she's been doing this a long time, and knows exactly what she's doing. If you want to look her up, her city pop covers are very easy to find, and the algorithm will take care of the rest.

Having never actually watched a debut for most talents I pick them up along the way as the content overflows my feed/recommendations giving me no choice but to eventually take a look. From what little I know from this and other recaps it looks like a fun group and great addition to EN, and Hololive. As great as the individual streams can be the real magic is in the collaborations/interactions with other Hololive members and seeing what each new member brings to the overall experience as well as the interactions.

I think Hololive is in good hands with this new Generation. They seem to really value the work of their Senpais and what they made out of Hololive and the Community being visible by FuwaMoco firmly rejecting the nicknames Wawa and Coco for exampel. On the Other Hand Management did a good job in supporting their entrance and backing them up with the Trailers and all that stuff. Give them some time to establish themself and their image can´t judge a Book by its Cover.

Honestly I like all of them so far. Shiori has some experience and is great as a comfy gothic streamer (and yeah, too psycho would be too much), Bijou rocks with her memes (the VINE BOOM and her presentation live edited), Nerissa yet looking like a starter is indeed a great singer for what we heard so far, and FuwaMoco really behave like twins and their energy is limitless. In all, they add good new colors to Hololive's palette. 2 years after Council, 20 months after Holo JP6 / holoX and 16 months after Holo ID3, I expected a big boom for Holo's next main generation. Not only I'm not disappointed, but I fell off my chair several times like, the memes from the community (SOUP), 100K to 120K viewers in average, minimum 290K subs for each channels as of now (SO QUICK), and for the music: 3 freakin' good covers (waiting for Shiori's), a powerful original during FuwaMoco's debut, and a BANGER OF A FULL GROUP ORIGINAL SONG!? WHAT A TREAT. HoloAdvent can have all the time needed to develop themselves, and they either started nicely or strongly good. Gonna watch these 5 from time to time, wish them good luck

so for me, i think EN has just kinda been banger after banger, you have holo myth, who kinda played it safe you had your singer, your comfy streamer, your gremlin, and youre kinda generalist who did a little bit and then the one who kinda started talking with the other members of hololive so the journalist kinda. pretty safe bet holo EN was new so going nuts with the personalities would be a risk, very strong start and a legendary "A" plus start then you have holo council with a chaotic rat, an airheaded and soft spoken owl who might be a psychop-friend, and a sultry voiced goober tsundere, a seiso kirin who is secretly lewd... and then you had the very friendly BEEG one. none of them overly specialized other than fauna doing ASMR and mumei and kronii doing a lot of co-op. but they have a lot of colabs, and I think Bae is kinda going into the singer position doing a lot of covers and stuff. oh... and then theres irys.. whos done a lot i'm kinda proud of her due to kinda the position she was put in and now she's kinda an unofficial member of council in a way now you have Holo Advent which we have chill goth girl GF, big sister like mommy, sorry i mean mommy, sorry. who is our singer of the group, we have based rock loli, and we have doggo sisters who already have a small morning show pilot which i've listened to and might keep listening too, maybe they'll put it on spotify... that'd be cool lets see how advent does, I watched their collab and I love how they interact with eachother, I hope they can be just as much of a banger as in my opinion council was because for me council is my favorite right now, and I can't place advent yet becuase they just started

Shiori is actually my favourite of the gen. Her design is top tier and I actually love her voice as well. She likes books and feeds strays which is a plus and she isn't without the quirks that makes her weird and interesting (like that scissors thing). I am unlikely to watch any member live much because of timezones and it might be that I will interact with Nerissa the most becuase she will probably have the most music related stuff (which are easier to enjoy in archive format compared to games or freetalks imo). But Shiori is currently pretty high in the list of Hololive talents I am down bad for (she doesn't come close to Suisei but still, I would go for Shiori over like at least half of the other Hololive members, probably more).

And Rissa being what her design gave away, not a kind of vain Kronii Nee-san kind of character, but really, really chill without trying to be a mommy through obvious voice acting is exactly what I wanted from a mature looking new member.
