I am so in love with Ali Ilyas. Also, your podcasts are coming at a faster pace than I am watching them. I have to pile them up and watch them all on weekend. Feels really great after watching your podcasts at the weekend! It feels like I have gained so much knowledge over the weekend.

Thanks for making this podcast. It's such an important topic and we have to normalize it as much as possible. Also, there's so much more to cover so please make a part 2 or something especially covering the child upbringing part. Kudos to you and Ali for making such amazing content.

While some blame can be put on the general lot, it should be acknowledged that the lack of respect for the concept of psychotherapy also arises due to the lack of expertise among mental health professionals and their demand for high fees while not bringing anything new to the table. Why would someone who is already suffering, waste hard-earned money on a psychologist/psychiatrist who he knows won't be able to do much?

My friend is so depressed and as you said, I do push her to take some professional treatment but she always says that she can do it herself and that she can get through this herself, but honestly I don’t think so because she’s been trying for so long now, please tell me how can I convince her because I really want her life to be on track again.

It has become a fad of sorts among youtubers in Pakistan to recommend therapy and while I know your hearts are probably in the right place and you mean well, you should know there is a lack of quality health care professionals in this country. As someone who has spent a great amount of time living abroad, when I compare the psychologists here to those in the west, something is lacking. A few people I have interacted with in this regard feel the same way. A friend of mine was having suicidal thoughts and all her therapist could recommend to her was that she needs to offer her prayers more regularly. While, I agree that Islam is a beautiful religion and can provide strength to its believers, you expect more out of someone who are counting on to help you get through a lean mental phase. And this is just one example. Perhaps, you can discuss this issue with Ali in one of your upcoming podcasts - The Quality of Mental Health Care in Pakistan.
