This the best 3d abstract painting ive seen. My favourite colours too. I noticed colours used are written. It glitters like you sprinkled glitters on surface. Cant thank you enough Ray. I love this very much. Im going to try this. 🇲🇾

I have to tell you that I finally tried this technique at my art therapy session. It had been a few weeks since watching this (and watched it several times over the last year) so it did make an impression on me. Abstract is not my normal style but have been studying you and a couple other artists to understand it better. Anyway - it was fun putting colors on the canvas quickly, using water and paper towels to lift and move color around. Then the taping and dark color shading. When I lifted the tape everyone was impressed. Thank you for sharing your art for us to learn from. I loved creating this and will do more with it.

Me too! Ditto the compliments...first time watching and now hooked! Can’t wait to try my hand at this type of abstract! Thank you for hating all skills & talent. Now need to make time to watch more and put my learnings into practice!

Thank you so very much, I started painting about a year ago now (it took me until my 60th birthday to realise I knew which end of a paint brush to use!) every one said I couldn't do it and I love a challenge. I am legally blind and use a magnifying light and in a chair (lazy can't be bothered to walk lol), The point is one comment from an art teacher 45 years ago stopped me dead, you can't do that! I asked why and she said blustering "well, well, err its not right". Thanks to you and other KZbin artists I'm glad my husband set up a studio for me so that I can paint till I drop. Thank you so very much.

Fascinating how Inspiring this video can be. Start with two colors, and somewhat mix em up! Adding some light through white, and using white to make spots that adds that extra touch.. Really makes you wonder what would happen if you start that way yourself!!

@deborahkeevers56005 жыл бұрын
Hello, absolutely beautiful, going to try this, thanks for your time but I have three questions. 1. Do u wait till dry before masking off sections. Then do the shadow. 2. Do u think this would be exactly the same process to do on a much larger canvas. 3. Are u just using a house paint brush for blending.
@RayGrimesAbstractArt5 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's dry before masking. It would be very similar on a larger canvas and you can use any brushes you are comfortable with. Here I'm using a chip brush.

Fantastic video! 2 beginner questions please, I'd really appreciate any answer: 1. In one of the comments you wrote that you're letting the layers dry before moving to the next one, but your colors seem to blend so smoothly! So can i ask - is it considered one layer until 1:45 when you spray the water? (So no drying in between them until you get to the water spray part) 2. After spraying the water you use the cloth - is it totally dry and with no paint on it? I don't really understand this great magic where you spray water and the cloth brings out white little dots that look like fairy dust. Absolutely love it!
@RayGrimesAbstractArt6 жыл бұрын
1 - yes, I would consider that one layer. If you were to paint over it after drying and do the same process that would be another layer 2 - yes, the cloth is totally dry at first but it gets wet quickly and picks up paint as I go, I use a few cloths to do this
