Today I will be going over the depth chart to explain how each position is handled and if there are any tricks to know to better your team! I also show which positions from the depth chart get subbed in to your special team lineups so you can control that as well! Just joined a money league and these tips will surely help tremendously!! I have the Seahawks team and the defensive coordinator gives a 3+ speed to all linebackers,corners and safeties with an additional 3+ speed to mlb for a total of 6! Now I can target which guys specifically I want in certain places and insure that I have speed on the field at all times! I greatly appreciate this video because now I can have a complete scheme on all three phases a fast defense in general, fast special teams, and fast fast offense!

Love you dived into Special teams setups. Think every football game neglect these hard guys. It's hardly never even a possibility for a gamer to even set up gunners. So important that shouldn't be left to in-game standard formulas. Looking at these pictures really helps me out to see if the wrong guys (valuable starters) play in situation perhaps more likely injury them. Still have to comment on that 2nd HB being used is sad, should have been 3rd HB and surely the FB if any or 3rd TE should be on kickoffs in my view. I know one could go into formation subs and make these shifts where it is possible, sadly not on every position. Same tricky selection on KOR. Even if the old wedge formation is gone one better have a blocker than a starting PR (which might get injured) in that 2 man back. Naturally comment on the punt formation but I do what I can to change them out in the formation sub part. Very obvious more of the 3-4 HB and 2-3 TE should be in those punt formation in my book. Sadly I think it not total open to make subs in the formation, but I sure try the best. It's a pity EA think only halfway on this subject. Take that in the official rosters they often have the correct Longsnapper in the game (mostly as TE) but so low ratings that everyone even the AI cut him. It would have been good if it really was important to do a correct snap as in real life. Also weird with holder be the QB, as in very old times. That changed many many years ago I think. To end my rant I would say it's kind of sad that ratings on some vital things for specteam players is almost unknown as I see it. Also hard like putting a very classic tall jumping DL player in this blocking Field Goals since you have to to that in the formation sub. Would loved to have seen a rating for Open Field tackling which would have been top notch for these speedy gunners. Think about the great ST players over the years, lastly Slater of Patriots, Steve Tasker and such with so low ratings they obviously get cut. They could hardly do antything else. Forgot Vince Papale, he-he Yes I do like special teams. True grit players that give everything they have, suicide like. Still big thanks for clearing up these formation often overlooked.

Excellent video. Now I understand why my run defense in nickel and dime has been horrible. Teams come out in pass audible to run and my backup DL is in the game.

Great vid as always 💯 U did a „Best way to set up your franchise mode“ with Stories, trade calculator etc where you control all of the teams to make it more realistic in Madden 23. Is there a video for madden 24 or is it still the same for 24?

I believe it only gives QB as an option if you do. I honestly have not tried that though

Yes you can, but keep in mind madden rates them low as QB's and they throw/run on fg fakes

Thank you so much for making this video! The only thing im still confused about though does this mean all nickel and dime packages run as a 4-3? So that would mean RDT 1 & 2 play every time youre in a nickel or dime? And RDE/LDE 2 are just backups for injury?

Yes essentially anytime you are in nickel or dime it’s considered a “pass defense” which will bring out the pass rushing packages with the RLE, RRE and RDT

Something weird i have noticed in 3-4 playbooks, dt1 and dt2 play but a le1 or re1 doesnt play. Dt2 is also the most likely dt to be the NT so like when i play with the titans, i put jeffery simmons at dt2 so he functions as my NT

I have noticed that the depth chart seems to be bugged as well. I have tried matching up who I am seeing on the field in the depth chart but it still doesn't seem to work properly. I am unsure if they will put out a fix for this

3rd Down Back will be on the Field anytime you are in Shotgun with 11 or 10 Personnel(1 RB 1 TE or 1 RB 0 TE).

I believe that KOS is Kickoff Specialist. Have you found any way to work around the 3-4 depth chart bug (in the 3-4 base defense, DT1 lines up at RE and DT2 lines up at DT and DE's are lining up at OLB)? I find it immensely frustrating.

I went to look after reading this comment and yeah I see the bug. When did that start happening? If you sub in your back up RE at RE1 then make your RE1 the DT1 and your DT1 your DT2 it works

@@CBGamingYT7I believe it's been happening since release in Madden 24. It was fine in 23. Moving the subs as you suggest causes me issues because there are also 4-3 formations in the playbook. I usually end up manually subbing during play (in the formation, not the depth chart). It is time consuming and it usually takes a few plays before I get everyone in the right spot.

In the rush, you need to RLE LOLB, RRE ROLB, RDT DT and RE (or LE if hes better or other DT). Miami as an example would be RLE Phillips, RRE Chubb, RDT Wilkins, Sieler Your SLB can be both MLB's or MLB, S. Again Miami, would be SLB Baker, Long

3DRB is in when the TE does not have his hand in the dirt. I think that the exceptions to this rule is a screw up on EAs part…..

Greate video but there’s an issue with 34 line ups . So it should be RE and LE side of the DT in base 34 formations , but in game it’s not . It’s actually Two DTS 1 and 2 and LE . Test it out cos on mine it’s broke . Same with 34 OLB it’s not , it’s turns out it’s also broke and it’s actually the RRE and RLE that are outside linebackers . Never used to be like that but either my game broke or ea accident fucked the code up . Was fine at beginning of game but during cycle its changed. But 43 it sets up like it should , it’s only 34 it’s broke

Why are Special teams always the starters in my franchises? I'm constantly having to go into formation subs and having to set all Special teams formations to back up players. From what u said it should already be backups in those formations.
