I already posted this response on your other comment, but I'm posting it here a second time, just in case someone will need it. :) Thanks for your comment, I will make videos about this system one day for sure, but unfortunately I won't be able to make them any time soon, most certainly not this year. For now, I can only give you a video that helped me understand better how to use this system. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rWbUhaSHqcZ5mMU It shows modern patterns, but the idea is the same as the vintage ones. You will need a special measuring tape, you can still buy it from the Lutterloh page since they are still in business and from what I understand the new tape is the same as vintage ones. You can also try to find a used one on eBay, or you can try to print out scans that you can find on Pinterest, the last method is a bit tricky, cause you have to make sure that you're printing it exactly to size, but it is possible. Also, remember that there were other systems that were very similar to Lutterloh, but they weren't necessarily compatible, so using Lutterloh tape won't work with each of them. Hope it helps. :)

Thank you. I very much loved looking at the very womanly styles of that era. :)

I recently acquired a Lutterloh set from 1938 and from 40 and 41. Looking forward to diving into them.

Oooh, that's wonderful :) 1938, would that be the one I have? Not this red one, the one I show in the other video. Lately I saw two editions that I don't have, one from the 40s and one from the 50s, I was considering getting them, but they were too expensive for me ($150-200 per one).

@@missterryvintage The one I have has the green cover. The 40/41 has red.

It grew to like it a lot in the last year or so. :) I was more interested in the 50s before that.

great video and music. Lovely to see the styles. For a moment I paused thinking about that era in Germany, the Nazi era. But the Lutterloh family was around well before and after the Nazis. At least they carried on their family business and made it through that horribe time and we still have them now. :-)

Thanks for watching. :) And yes, when I first got this book, I was a bit hesitant about it, since it was a 40s German book, but, as you said, the Lutterloh family kept their business after the war, even making it international, so I hope they weren't avid Nazi supporters, as most certainly not every German then was a bad human.

You know the u.s. government hired nazis for nasa and other government scientific jobs. Many companies of today had nazi involvement. Socialism is a nazi idea. I don’t know why you’re thinking of nazis but you should know facts.

People today are the grandchildren and great grandchildren of World War 2 era Nazis. Let's hope people can change! Millions of people died in that war. It was bad for everyone, ruined the European and British economy.

Thank you for showing us these ! But the formats are kind of odd no? is it A5 for the 1st and A6 for the 2nd one ?
@missterryvintage3 жыл бұрын
Yes, this 1940s book is almost exactly A5, it's only 5 mm wider than a standard A5. The small supplement is close to A6 but not exactly that format, it's 10.2 cm x 14.3 cm. But the oddest format has the 1930s edition, which I showed in a different video, it's 14.7 cm x 25.5 cm. :) Thanks for watching. :)

Are these scanned somewhere?

Hi, I'm not super sure about the copyright status of those books, so I personally didn't put them anywhere, the last thing I need is to be fighting with lawyers. LOL But if you'll search "der goldene schnitt patterns" or "lutterloh patterns" you'll probably find some.
