Grew up fishing these on camping holidays now I live in Lincolnshire I do miss the hills

I grew up near Cromford Even Sea lampreys come up that far and the occasional salmon. But the canal was a conduit for Pike and Roach to enter the River Derwent.

Grew up next to this stretch- always wanted to fish it my whole life but can't afford the £200 joining fee, nor the £200 anual fee for the club which runs it. Beautiful river and medow, but not to be fished by common folk from the bridge down :(

I was lucky enough for them to let me fish it last year its a beautiful stretch but pricey as you say
