I’d like to see an anarchy capstone like: You only lose half stacks on death and you get EITHER .1% more reload speed for each stack (up to 60% at max stacks) or .1% more magazine size for each stack (so it counteracts smaller, lighter, faster at 150 stacks and has major bonuses at higher levels) As you get higher up, you have less need for smaller mag sizes to help stack so it makes sense to return them. It also helps fix issues with the infinity if you can get more than 40 stacks

2 years late. Woo! I just wanna say that Gaige boosting her mags with an anarchy capstone is pretty counterintuitive. The idea with the downside of that skill is that it's not all bad. Smaller mags can sometimes be somewhat helpful to her since it makes her stack faster. Tier one +reload -mag size kind of serves to help define her playstyle, so I don't think it would fit. I would give her +reload or +swap speed on anarchy, personally

Even if u probably wanna use a number of stacks you dont wanna overreach for almost every gun and you kind of end up hanging around there on the discordloop id probably still want to actually embrace the idea of small mag sizes for fast stacking since you can raise them fast from any position to adapt to new guns and situations it also helps you keep discord in the equasion remember its a tool not just the savior from loosing all stacks by seppoku reload

For a replacement capstone for the anarchy tree: Absolute Mayhem Deathtrap gains 2% melee damage per stack of anarchy and is enraged when Gaige enters discord. When enraged deathtrap gains damage reduction and stores overkill damage in his next melee attack and gains increased melee attack speed. Gaige also now only loses half her anarchy stacks upon death.

The Zapper com is great. Same for the Prodigy. Excellent leveling coms. The Punk is your stacking com. The Legendary Mechromancer com is a good general one for a nonspecific build, sort of like Krieg's Legendary Psycho. You get a lot of boosts to Gaige's best early tier skills and the cooldown is always nice. The LM com is flexible enough you can wear it on many different types of builds and get a good benefit from it, which I think was the intention of these original legendaries. Legendary Berserker on Sal is the same way.

I find that Cooking Up Trouble works well with Jakobs Shotties when you can have just two or one shot before you reload. So for just the one bangers Atleast half of the time you'll be healing. So I like it for that

Yes, CuT is conditional while sustenance isn't but: 1: It's a FLAT 2% (not "up to" 2%) 2: It's tier 1, while sustenance is tier 4 I think that makes them balanced overall :)

Chuck80 the problem is you aren't gonna have a full mag most of the time, so it's almost never active, and Sustenance is a much larger heal, and therefore it'll keep you over health gate.

These small health regen skills are about dots and all the little ticks of damage. Health Gate damage sources are few and far between, most hits just knick you but lots of knicks hurt. DOTs can also be a death sentance. These skills are about the knicks, health gate is more done with life steal. These skills just take too long to get past health gate. They are also nice to keep starting fights healthy by healing between fights. You were thinking of the right skill.

Depends on what weapon you use. I tote Jakobs shotguns and a few maliwan pistols (Grog and Tball fist) So my mag is very often full. Also, Sustenance isn't a larger heal: they're both 2%. If anything, CuT is the bigger heal because it's always 2% while sustenance is "up to" 2%

If Cooking Up Trouble was scaled per percent your MAG is full, it wouldn't be broken, but it would be a lot more useful than when it's ONLY full. Thoughts on With Claws... you could keep the skill, but have it also apply shock elemental effect - or, alternatively, have it do a life tap effect where you steal health from the target! Or both! Something to encourage its use more.

I personally feel like With Claws should have been Close Enough. CE just seems so quintessentially OC, as it alleviates the loss of accuracy from Anarchy without just increasing accuracy. Plus, putting both CE and Nth Degree in the same tree would really make it "Ordered Chaos." One question I haven't been able to find an answer to, and I'm away from my desktop; does With Claws heal up to 30% per swipe, or 30% total? If it's 30% per swipe, that would healthgate you, right?

With a lot of class mods where you have that 1 skill where it's not bad but not super great I usually can find that as an excuse to put a single point for the 5 extra just for that essentially free boost.

The calculated anarchist mods are for styles where you use anarchy as a resource. So you don't get a lot of stacks. The skill that gives 25 if you don't have any is ofcourse key in this.

Anarchy capstone should be applying your anarchy damage bonus to deathtrap. That would tie in well with her personality and even her backstory since her whole thing with Marcy was because she might have gotten a wire crossed when she was hooking up DT's discord circuits, why not have anarchy apply to both since she was obviously trying to do just that?

Interspersed outburst should just give +125% stack gain at 5/5 so that 10/5 gives 250% stacks. If that was the case stacking would be significantly quicker It would even allow you to hold discord as long as you kept finding enemies to take out.

For the Punk class mod, the -mag size on both the class mod and Smaller, Lighter, Faster do not affect the Fibber (this is due to the BPD which makes the “lying stat card”, the weapon actually has those stats but the BPD brings it down to more balanced levels, part of this is like -99% mag size and so further magazine size stats which multiply with the BPD will effectively do nothing). This ends up making the Punk class mod as the best dps class mod for the Fibber.

@@PhyrexianGrace You can very easily test this yourself if you're curious. Just get a Punk COM or respec out of Smaller, Lighter, Faster while holding the Fibber. However, I will say that my original math was a bit off and it turns out Chaotic Neutral Necro is still higher DPS because the mag size on CNN does actually affect Fibber. That being said though, yes Fibber is unaffected by the -mag size on Smaller, Lighter, Faster and Punk COM. The reason why this occurs is because of how the Fibber's "lying stat sheet" is coded. The Fibber actually does have those stats but there is a BPD while you hold it which lowers them to normal values. Because these BPD values divide the mag size so much, Smaller, Lighter, Faster and Punk COM's -mag size (which adds to the BPD values) have pretty much zero effect. However, Chaotic Neutral Necro uses a different mag size than SLF and Punk which instead multiplies with the mag size after the BPD. This is why CNN and matching grip can actually affect the mag size. Fun fact, Bandit grip doesn't add any mag size either for the same reason.

The tina class mods would have worked nice with cooking up trouble boosted with mag size buff enabeling use of the infinity and having permanent healing of 4 % combine that with a shock infinity wires dont talk and maybe electrical burn could have been a viable infinity build for endgame for once

Keep in mind a health bonus will also affect how much health you regenerate per second which can improve survivability.

I had tried to make an Infinity build for Gaige before using the Tina COM so I could have Cooking Up Trouble always active since the Infinity always has a full magazine, but I could never get it to work right. Maybe one of your follow up videos could play around with something like that?

The capstone on Anarchy makes perfect sense, Gaige is half melee character, she has 1/3 of skills all about melee damage and Deathtrap, if you didn't get it you probably didn't get her design and how she has to be played. She is not just Anarchy + Shotgun bot. As for With Claws - the higher the anarchy, the closer you are to the enemies, the lower health you have because of Blood Soaked Shield, the more effective becomes empowered melee. Adding something else instead melee would make the tree overpowered, it's already one of the highest damage trees and skills.

With claws should have been in her left tree, along with her strength of 5 gorillas perk. With claws is a melee capstone that would otherwise have nothing to do with melee. So if they move the melee skills to the left tree as a melee override that is active while Deathtrap is active would fit in better. Slap on a nice melee damage bonus for good measure(make it explosive damage as lore from the science fair). If they tacked with claws on to the shield share capstone it’d be like they’re sharing skills(as bffs do). So even though it’s not exactly a melee skill tree if fit in with the best friends forever concept. Maybe close enough could move to the right tree since its synergy is both undeniable and fitting for a chaotic anarchist tree. However due to the current layout of her skill trees you’d likely need a Move fancy mathematics to the middle tree since it would pair well with myelin for those who took it as their first skill. I think the cap stone in the anarchy tree would be fit better if scoring kills gave a massive accuracy boost (return 65% lost accuracy to her), and a small % of healing somewhere in the ballpark of 10% would seem fair.

Yeah no. He has a small point about With Claws not being a good capstone because it isn’t. It doesn’t have a lot of synergy with any of her other skills as far as melee is concerned which he mentions. Also there NO WAY Gaige would be overpowered by Anarchy if you really played her as a character in depth you’d say otherwise. She has too many counterintuitive and mismatched skills to be overpowered! Lol. And that’s coming from someone who is a Gaige MAIN. Lol.

I think the BFF capstone should have been something that lets you have Deathtrap out all the time. Maybe have the cooldown already tick while he is out, or have him stay out until he‘s killed or something like that. As is, it feels like a bit of a waste to invest heavily in DT because he‘s not out about half of the playtime. So you either wait between encounters to resummon or you have a build that doesn‘t care about him. Also the Legendary Anarchist COM basically gives you 32 stacks of Anarchy for the accuracy cost of 24 stacks. So the way I read this com is: You can spend one less point in Preshrunk Cyberpunk and one less point in Bloodsoaked Shields (the boost to Unstoppable Force should take care of the last 10%).

Hard agree that her Slayer is the best of them all, but I also actually do think her Slayer could be a pretty solid com for shock builds (at least until Catalysts start dropping), because aside from Sterner Stuff, the rest of the skills on her Slayer are pretty good. And while it can't crank her shock like the Catalyst can, it's burn passives should be able further crank the damage and frequency of her fire dots that are often already going to be based off of inherently stronger shock dots. Also, lately I've been having a lot of fun playing a more sniper oriented Gaige with a shock/anarchy build and the Necro w/accuracy & crit, and +6 Wires does pretty good work raising the anarchy stack ceiling before needing to Discord/DFA back down.

I've heard people refer to Gaige as a "selfish" character to play in co-op. Since you have to work around the Gaige to make sure she deals damage, I don't play her online for that very reason.

I wouldn't say she's a selfish character, I think she has plenty of coop capabilities. Team shield restoration, ability to instantly slag everything on screen for your team, team elemental damage (which is especially great for maya and Krieg) idk I think she's more than adequate

I didn't had enough energy to write comments in the last part. I like to use Legendary Catalyst com with guns like Storm (I think that orbs are getting boosted by Anarchy) or Infection and Catalyst (or maybe I would say DoT) builds are so fun to use, just killing Ultimate badass loader with Infection is so funny. But after doing tests with Necromancer (I don't remember skills and prefix) I think that it's better for general shock oriented builds (Wires Don't Talk is still boosted). Pimp on Gaige is a shotgun, I think it's enough to understand how good pimp is on her. And Veruc in my opinion is pretty interesting on her, because projectile in the middle isn't affected by anarchy that much.

Which Necromancer do you think is best on shock builds? I have a few purple necromancer coms and a shock build, but I've been using a Wired Zapper for 11/5 WDT and 10/5 Electrical Burn. Is the Necro really better than the legendary catalyst? Is the passive buff really helping that much?

This is how I think the Legendary Anarchist should be. Gun Damage +N% Accuracy -N% Boost: +5 Smaller, Lighter, Faster +5 Preshrunk Cyberpunk +5 Typecast Iconoclast +5 The better Half +5 Unstoppable Force I feel this would have been a much better spread of skill boosts for this Class Mod. I still feel that Legendary Anarchist is her best Com, but there's a lot of wasted potential. Still starting off with 50%+ damage with only a 40%ish penalty to accuracy, while also making stacking easier and boosting her best Kill Skill. This Class Mod really helps her snowball out of control really fast.

Gaige is AWESOME IF and big IF you spec her correctly,Anarchy is very powerful by it's self and all but her Dots are great if used with legendary catalyst and Bone shock,DTs great with Roboteer + Roid Shields+ Make it sparkle(Slag or Matching elements) and even thunder clap,the seven hits at once are both good in most situations and all his melee buffs,Her survial is amazing because Mylien, Unstoppable force,Blood soaked Shields,Cooking trouble and even potent as pony and made of sterner stuff + Heath+healing relic,Gaige is good if you the player can utilize her in her skills just like every character and she's not just ANARCHY and bullet deflection,Yes the gun damage is nice and op but you don't need 600~400 or even 150 to play her,25~100 is fine then discord for accuracy.If you like a Generic com use the Legendary Mechromancer for it's 4% healing,Nice Shield recharge with fancy mathematics,10/5 20% cooler=60%+29% from com plus bone=Way more cool down than needed,More pep for Dot,Death trap gets a little melee damage which is good,More reload,Then all of her purple and some blue coms with the mixed boosts can be good based on builds,Gaige is my favorite for her variety.Be smart and you'll love her.

I have something else to add to what you said about CuT. You mention it has the condition of needing a full magazine for it to apply and that's why you think the number is too low. I want to add on that to show why that number definitely is too low. People say that its fine because its a tier 1 skill but the condition is much harsher then it is given credit for i feel. To use CuT you need a full clip which means you either have to: 1. Reload your gun 2. Carry a gun that's always full to switch to Reloading your gun is pretty difficult on Gaige as it makes you lose all of your anarchy stacks immediately. To stop this from happening you can either force a reload by emptying your clip or get Discord. Forcing a reload can take a while depending on which gun you have and how full the clip is at that time. If you're using an assault rifle with 40-50 ammo in a clip and you've only shot 1 bullet out of that you can imagine that emptying it takes a bit of time. That means you do not always (depending on gun choice) have 100% control over CuT if you rely on this method. That then leaves Discord for reloading. Using discord means you have to reload your gun, shoot and then reload your gun again to use CuT without losing anarchy stacks. Granted you could use Discord together with CuT for 5% regen if you do not care about losing some stacks in the process. However what it also means is that you need Discord to begin with. To get discord you have to invest 11 points into the right tree. Combine that with CuT and you are already spending 16 skill points to use CuT in this way. Since reloading your gun is very costly you might then consider carrying a gun with a full clip. This gives you much more control on using CuT without needing to spend additional skill points on Discord. This does mean that you are sacrificing an entire gun slot just for this purpose. If you need a gun that's always full on ammo you're generally not going to be using it. Now if youre spending an entire gun slot just to get 2% regen why not just get a Moxxi weapon. Considering that a Moxxi weapon heals you based on your damage, and if anything Gaige has damage, it seems like a much better option. If you switch to a Moxxi weapon you can get a quick burst of healing that CuT will never give you, while you are still doing damage with the Moxxi gun. With all of this i definitely feel like the number on CuT is way too low. I would personally bump this up to 4% (boosted to 8). It would mean you can heal quicker outside of combat and have somewhat more reliable healing in combat.

Let's fix some of Gaige's skills! First off, Buck Up and Sharing is Caring should be combined into one skill. Potent as a Pony should have an extra effect, like damage resistance when moving. Made of Sterner Stuff's numbers need to be higher. Explosive Clap is alright, it just needs some more range. Unstoppable Force should give you health regen instead of shield regen, the movement speed is great though. Shock Storm could be like that one skill Athena has where you can transfer dots to another enemy. 1, 2, Boom needs a serious rework, or just remove it all together. The other BLT skills are actually fine as it is, maybe give Make It Sparkle some damage to the eye beam. Anarchy...hoo boy. It needs a safety net skill that can keep you from losing ALL of your stacks on death. That's one of the things that make me hate Gaige, which sucks because she's my favorite character. Death From Above should have the stack consumption reversed. So instead of going from 1 stack to 5, make it go from 5 to 1. Typecast needs bigger numbers. With claws needs to actually die and get replaced with some actual Anarchy support. Like a kill skill that increases your accuracy like crazy, to counteract the anarchy stack penalty. Discord needs to be useful outside of being a safety net if you reload. The accuracy is so small that it's unnoticeable, and the health regen is...ok? I didn't actually know it gave you fire rate as well, but apparently it does. Also ANARCHY STACK DAMAGE SHOULD APPLY TO DEATHTRAP AS WELL THERE'S LITERALLY NO REASON FOR IT TO NOT. That is all.

It's a shame, because I feel like Gaige could've been a really cool melee character if Gearbox designed the BFF tree to synergize her melee damage with Deathtrap's. Maybe like they could've gave her a single point tier 1 skill similar to Anarchy where Gaige's melee damage is added to Deathtrap's and then the tier 3 skill could've been that stupid claw attack, in which they could've designed it to make Gaige's melee damage equal to Deathtrap's when he's active. The rest of the skills could've been about boosting their melee synergy and bulk since always being that close up to enemies means you'll most likely take lots of damage. As of now all her skills seem to be all over the place.

Derch most gaige builds can simply gain stacks very efficiently from just killing and shooting. The only time I mass stack is on some raid boss fights. The peak itself has enough enemies to where you can start racking up stacks quickly enough

+Derch even just reloading lets you build stacks relatively fast, given that most Gaige builds are Jakob's shotguns and Malian pistols. Just shooting/slaging and wearing the enemies down is helpful!

The conditional aspect of CuT is quite schizophrenic. In the OC tree you're forced into reload restraint or just swapping to a full gun in order to keep CuT active, while Discord is so far down the tree it's actually prohibitive for certain builds. I guess they wanted the conditional aspect in the same way as Axton's Preparation (also tier 1), but they really should have gone with something else. WRT a capstone to save your anarchy or decrease the loss on death, yeah. Everybody wants it. GBX clearly didn't. Not much to add to that, except that the more you play Gaige the less losing stacks hurts. I never bother with prestacking and I don't need it for solo OP8 Peak. If you're in a squad you certainly don't need to restack for another run. RA and TI will have you back in the thick of it in no time, esp. with a Leg Anarchist COM. OP8 raids are a very different sack of cats, but with the level 50 cap on release it wasn't exactly a big deal. There's a reason virtually all OP8 Gaige raids are recorded on PC - 'nuff said.

There's still 2 things i'm interested in considering the left tree on Gaige. First off does Unstoppable force kick-start shield regen? Second does Deathtrap benefit from Fancy Mathematics if he has a copy of your shield through Sharing is Caring?

Yes and no, in that order. DT doesn't benefit from any of Gaige's shield skills - it would be kind of broken if he did. (An OP8 Hoplite refreshed with every BSS proc...and he wouldn't even notice the movement speed or health penalty, given how much of both he has. That _would_ be awesome, but yeah, pretty broken ^^) Worth noting that a DT kill will proc Evil Enchantress and Unstoppable Force though.

Legendary Anarchist is great for stacking. Also Punk is great for stacking. Regular Anarchist COM is garbage. How I would change it is, take out Fancy Mathematics and Annoyed Android, and put in Smaller, Lighter, Faster, and Typecast Iconoclast. I wouldn't even remove Death From Above. Reason is, by putting in SLF and TI, those allow for faster stacking, and more DFA use, for a more unique playstyle. Although I disagree with some of the reviews on Gaige, I do appreciate the time and effort that was placed into it. Thanks for the info. I did learn something from your last video, even though I love playing Gaige - the Blockhead sounds like a solid suggestion, and one I'm kicking myself for not having tried out yet. It would be a different playstyle than running up to an enemy and blasting them with Sledge's Shotgun (which never gets old).

On my Gaige, for nothing but giggles, I'm going for all her gimmicky skills. Buck Up, The Stare, With Claws, you name it (except DfA, because what?) Probably not gonna run the Peak.

Also, my view on Gaige's trees (text wall ahead): BFF: General purpose, straightforward, beginner-friendly, biggest and most useful upgrades to your action skill, and some good synergy with the other two trees. LBT: Support sniper. Emphasis on elemental damage and ranged abilities for DT encourage using him to draw aggro while you use elemental sniper rifles to zone enemies, exploit their weaknesses, and set them up for DT. With the capstone, you can also ele-snipe DT so he can also exploit those weaknesses in melee; combine with a slag sniper for maximum effect. OC: Close-range brawler. Shotguns and SMGs reap the best benefits from Anarchy and SLF (especially with Close Enough and The Better Half), and With Claws can be used in tandem with BSS and Discord to keep you alive. DT can still pull aggro and shred enemies with Robot Rampage, and his kills give you stacks; combine with Upshot Robot for a devastating Katamari ball.

My Primary is the Best Friends Forever tree and Secondary in Ordered Chaos, my goal is to use richocet to make Gaige be able to B0re. Now of course Gaige cannot B0re as adequately as Zer0 can, and I'm sure there are multiple smarter ways to build Gaige, but to each their own. I presonally don't like the Anarchy skill tree and setup, but It can be viable if you are trying to B0re and take down raid bosses quickly.

cooldown is ok on anyone but never great, and a tier 5 skill with 30% isnt really that good unless you compare it to some bad t5s. At 100% cooldown rate you have -50% cooldown time, 50% cooldown rate is -25% cooldown time, etc and it has diminishing returns. I think its worth putting 1 point if youve got a com or leftover skill points but cdr is definitely the bottom tier of good in borderlands.

Depends on the char. Axton, Maya, Zero, and Sal (the vanilla 4) live and die by CDR. For Maya and Sal, their AS gives them a huge amount of damage and defense, while Axton and Zero need it for DPS, aggro relief, and survivability. Gaige can live without it since DT is so detached from her. But for most of the Vault Hunters, CDR is one of the best stats you can get and is a major boost to DPS.

no they dont, especially not sal and maya. Sal just has cooldown from damage and kills and its way better so only axton really gets a decent amount from it. Maya has such better class mods and such a bad cdr skill that only the legendary binder mod is feasible on her, and theres no way shes using that solo. Zero is much the same, with a bad cdr skill but a decent legendary com. Cdr is just last priority stat that you might pick up down a tree but really only axton wants, which he can usually get by recalling his turret. Basically every skill with %cd is meh, and only the legendary binder is cdr worth noting, since most of the legendary % coms dont have enough damage to justify them.

Grim is a bad CDR skill? That's a stretch. It's one of Zero's only survival skills, and having CDR w/ shield recharge is awesome. Also, Maya;s damage and CC is mostly tied to phaselock, and when you consider the free slagging and wreck, there are few DPS stats that can really outdo CDR on Maya. For Axton, especially for explosive builds, Battlefront uptime trumps almost any other DPS stat you can get on COMs, and most of his builds try to hit resourceful for a reason. Sal does have get some, I'll give you that. But still, 3 out of 6 characters have AS that contribute huge chunks of DPS to their kit. C/B and melee Zeros, any Maya build (but especially trickster and binder builds), and explosive Axtons love CDR, and could trade it for other stats (assuming it isn't something stupid like 15% CDR for 60% damage).

8% cdr on kill is good? uhhhh id have to disagree. Its a bad cdr skill, but its one of zeros few survivability skills. Also maya can already start and end a fight with phaselock so reducing the cooldown by 3 seconds isnt necessary, which is why the cat mod is better unless she in a group as i said. And battlefront is better with longer turrets than cdr, you can already put it down and recall it with refund for the next fight. What would any character trade for cdr? Maybe it beats out max hp or max shield, but it loses to every other stat. If noone cares about cdr then as i said its okay but never great. Noone needs it to slag or survive since they have some sort of lifesteal weapon or skill, and noone but sal can rely on their ult always being up and doing damage.

CDR for Maya is almost a necessity for coop, for reasons you already know. As to your points on Axton's turrets and deception, we have to look at this in context. Realistically speaking, getting cool down on most gear is a massive DPS boost. The legendary Siren, Binder, Engineer, and Soldier are among the top 3 DPS mods for their respective classes. Bones are almost always the best relic. Even for skills, there are rarely situations where you have to actively try to get it. Most of the time you can afford to get it in your build anyway. Hence why I hold the point that CDR is one of the best stats you can get. In a vacuum it may lose to other DPS boosts, but when we look at it in game, it will either come with goodies that make it desirable (as is the case with Zero) or it will be on our way to whatever we're getting anyway. Regardless, if you can get cookies with your ice cream, why not take it? That's CDR in a nutshell.
