I cry each Time I watch this Amazing performance in David Letterman 's show. Irene Cara was so unique,cute, beautiful,humble with this incredible Voice guys! I love her,her music will survive forever.She's gone too soon😞 After this performance ,she talked to David Letterman and You Can notice how simple and humble she was...She was so far from all these singers who are prententious nowadays...

You should definitely check out the film "Fame". Irene performed this with only a piano accompaniment a well. I saw the film as a teen in NYC. The audience applauded after her performance. She will be missed.

I loved her voice very much and shocked to hear about her sudden passing recently, you have to hear all her songs since she was amazing talent, so rare. The movies " Fame" and " Flash Dance" were very famous in the 80's which she sang for the sound track with her magical voice. RIP Irene Cara. you are greatly missed.

Such a beautiful vocal - and Irene was an amazing talent gone way too soon. I loved her in Fame and on the soundtrack - and of course Flashdance (and her first 2 solo albums - including What a Feelin', which had Breakdance, Why Me, and The Dream - three more hits) - then she seemed to suddenly disappear. It turns out the label was cheating her of all her royalties and she sued - she won years later but had been blackballed by the industry by then. Such a tragedy - wish all the celebrities that have recently paid tribute had given her film and music jobs over the last 20 years instead. RIP.

An underrated voice, but Donna Summer could do the same (for example) . That's why she had not the success she had to. A shame, she had a powerful voice,and many things more this song shows. In this time u had to many voices like that. A voice is a thing, the music must follow. And she did not find the good song writer (except MORODER and only MORODER for 2 hit songs. Nice to see her singing something different. Hope people will look up her discography cause it's a good one.

Irene Cara and Donna Summer were both great. I never understand the need for people to compare singers. Irene was a singer as well as an actor. She co-wrote the lyrics for "Flashdance ...What a Feeling" by the way, winning a Grammy and Academy Award.

@@sampa2nyc Why i compare this 2 marvellous singers? Because they have so many common points. One is marvellous lirycs songs but not good music songs between 1984. That's why they failed may times on hit charts. Unjustified but that's it.
