Pascal Obispo is a singer who could sing the phone book, his vocals are always flawless. You really need to react to more of his music. He also wrote for many other artists.
@samueldevulder2 жыл бұрын
Derek, you should read the lyrics. This is a song to be listened to, focused on the lyrics. It depicts all the stars he was fan of when he was young. The artist he admire the most being Polnaref, and by now he’s a great singer/composer as Polnaref was/is. One can also note that he can sing in high tones as well as him (listen carefully the end of the song).
@LetsChillPage2 жыл бұрын
*Dereck,* The piano intro is a slightly modified version of *"Lettre à France"* by *Michel Polnareff,* a title he included in the lyrics a few minutes later and on which you reacted very positively some time ago. He then does the same with *"Marylou"* you also greatly appreciated. It thus includes many references to famous titles or artists, whether in the clip or the lyrics, such as; *AC/DC* (Thunderstruck), *David Bowie* (clown from "Ashes To Ashes" music video), *Freddy Mercury* ("I want to break free", "God save the Queen"), etc., all the musicians, but also the actors who inspired his career. The artists have always marked influences; this is the theme of this song in response to the media who criticized him a lot at his beginnings, believing he borrowed too much from the musical and vocal style of Polnareff (the singer *Calogero* suffered the same remarks, but he was criticized for copying too much *Obispo,* 😅). The media came to give him some credibility after he wrote big hits for other renowned artists; *Florent Pagny "Savoir Aimer,"* (Knowing how to love) *"Ma liberté de penser,"* (My freedom to think) but also *Johnny Hallyday "Ce que je sais"* (What I know) or *"Allumer le feu"* (Lighting the fire) in collaboration with *Zazie* for the lyrics, song to which you reacted. He also composed the music for the musical *"Les dix commandements"* (The Ten Commandments) including the song *"L'envie d'Aimer"* (The desire to love) performed by *Daniel Lévi.* He also composed *"Zen"* for *Zazie, * and *"A woman like any other"* for *Patricia Kaas.* Peace, folks, ☮🤗

Goodness gracious, who's giving you these recommendations? There's a lot of songs and singers from the French 80s that you haven't explored yet. Lio and Pascal Obispo don't really fall in that category or in styles that you seem to like. What about Telephone? Etienne Daho? More Veronique Sanson (she's got some excellent songs you have not yet explored)? I'm forgetting plenty of good singers/songs here. But not the last two. It's simply not the same level and not in the styles that you seem to prefer.

It is the representation of Polnareff, who appears seated at the piano, dressed in white. Pascal has a huge career behind him. He has been a prolific songwriter, making hits for his French-speaking colleagues. Of the old Pascal themes, I suggest Assassine and a little later, Les Fleurs du Bien. Also Rosa, in homage to Rosa Parks. A little newer, La Pretention de rien. Greetings from Argentina!
