Thanks for the House of Love name drop. Really liked that album. Would listen to this over Bob Dylan 10 times out of 10 as well. Never heard of them but time for a deep dive. Incredibly good debut album.👍🎶❤

Love talking about records/albums and listening to you and others online turning me on to new music that I might have missed. Kept my 750 LPs that I bought when I was a teen and into my 20's. Starting collecting again when I got into my 50's and can't get enough of hunting for vinyl & spinning. Thanks for your posts on here. I went to college at the same school as Greg Koch at the same time. I was an older non-trad student. He ended up dropping out of the Jazz Guitar program at the school and getting full force into his career. Cool cat from Wisconsin. Mammoth guitarist.

I know what you mean about current times being strange & dangerous! I live in the north of England out in the countryside, I try not to feed off all the negativity in the world at the moment, I stay away from the news programmes and prefer to listen to my music or read or do my sketching !!!! At the moment don cherrys organic music society is keeping me sane along with reading a book about the end of the hippy counter culture movement!!! Great video!!☮️

The House of Love should be much more appreciated, I cant understand why they weren't huge. Their songs are amazing, I saw them recently in Liverpool in November, and live they were sublime !

It took a few listens when I bought it... but after time, I learned to love Landing On Water. Of all the 60's acts making the 80's comeback... I feel he did it best. Sure, all of them had that 80's dated production... but he rocked on this one imo. It is pretty heavy at times for what it is. Thanks for showing this one.

Everybody talks about Trout Mask Replica, but I think Don refined that sound on later records.

Also, bought a signed copy of one of your records at amoeba Hollywood or month or so ago, used of course. Just got around to listening to it, really digging it.

"Doc at the Radar Station" is really special. My favorite Beefheart album. Question: Do you file his albums under "C" or "B"?

B.

Sometimes I feel crazy for not digging Dylan considering his reputation. Lots of respect but he doesn't do it for me. I'd take Tim Buckley, Nick Drake, John Martyn, Roy Harper, and so many more any day of the week! Speaking of Roy Harper, I noticed you posted a video with one of his live albums (with his hat covering junk on the cover). I'd love to hear you talk about him more as I feel he is severely underrated and flies under the radar considering his brilliance! If you have more of his records that is. Stormcock and Bullinamingvase are masterpieces. HQ too!

Love those 3 RH albums, especially HQ. The Game is great. But I think B Dylan is fantastic

Bob Dlyan and Van Morrison are totally Boring
@JohnFiocchi16 күн бұрын
This is no reflection on you...but playing with Bob Dylan or CCR doesnt give me any perspective whatsoever . I've hated it since the first time I heard it which would be the 1960s. Additionally I've played that music live for decades and thats my fault...but nevertheless it still sucks. Its boring and a redundancy. And...yet everyone who has ever hired me to play Dylan or CCR talks about it like its Mozart...or Alan Holdsworth or something that would be praised by a Classical or Jazz society. Narcissist band leaders are so anal over CCR and Dylan as if every note and dynamic has to be perfect and that makes me want to vomit
